Ben McKenzie is Mad for Mad Men
Ben McKenzie makes a rare public appearance and attends the season two premiere of AMC’s hit series Mad Men at the Egyptian theater on Monday in Los Angeles.
The former O.C. actor, who turns 30 in September, is set to star in a film version of Dalton Trumbo’s 1938 novel Johnny Got His Gun.
In the film, Ben plays the narrator and title character, Joe Bonham, The novel mainly consists of his reminiscences of childhood and his current struggle to remain sane and, finally, to communicate.
No release date has been set for this movie yet.

Thankfully the brilliant Mad Men is on AMC not ABC. At least we know the incredible series isn’t going to be held hostage by ratings.The new season starts Sunday at 10. Yay.
I love Ryan! :D Love Ben! Great that he’s attending an event, I’m glad he’s one of those people who stays out of the limelight and attend an event once and awhile. It’ll definitely do who good especially in this business! He looks good, and wow, I can’t believe he’s 30.

According to some reports, the movie will be released Sept. 12 in selected theatres. It was screened in Washington DC last June 30.

Mad Men is the BEST drama series on television right now. They won the Golden Globes this year too. Too bad the awards show was cancelled from the writers strike. I saw the marathon on Sunday and am now officially hooked on this show.

Unlike his other OC costars, especially Mischa and Rachel, this guy is completely under the radar. The irony is that the first movie he ever starred in, Junebug, is the best reviewed among all of the ex-OCers films. Mckenzie got a lot of good notices for his acting there and his costar Amy Adams got a Best Supporting Actress nomination.
