Christian Bale Arrested on Assault

I bet that his mother and sister was being supported by him monetarily. Maybe he was just tired of being their meal ticket and got into an argument. Whatever the reason for this altercation , I DO NOT think he is an abuser or a bad person. I think his family needs to leave him alone. I mean what the hell, why did his mother and sister call the cops if it was just a verbal thing. Guaranteed they want publicity so they’re riding Bales fame.

If the victim has not actually been touched, but only threatened, then the crime is considered to be ASSAULT. If the victim has been actually touched by the person committing the crime, then BATTERY has occurred.

Usually assualt and battery go hand in hand, so the very fact that he was only accused of assault means that he showed restraint.

While Bale is in G.B. , people need to remember that in the US there are 50 different criminal jurisdictions in addition to federal jurisdiction. Each jurisdiction defines its own offenses. In federal jurisdiction and the District of Columbia, for example, there is no difference between assault and battery. In fact, there is no battery. The offense is assault. It can be a mere unwanted touching. It can be spitting. No physical injury is required. Even threatening behavior can be considered an assault such as pointing a gun at someone. Threats is a separate offense.

Christian Bale is innocent until proven guilty. Period. That being said none of us knows what happened in that suite. I also assume none of us knows Mr. Bale personally and can say what he would or wouldn’t have done.

I believe in England they have something they call “a warning,” whereby they elect not to prosecute and sort of “warn” you not to do it again. Something like that. I doubt they’ll formally charge him. Especially if the complainants aren’t interested in going forward. I am sure there are a number of ways for the system to deal with this without prosecuting Bale.

Edna, I believe you. Those who say that from now on will stop being fans of Christian are dead wrong. Lucky for them if they don’t or didn’t have abusive parents, especially siblings. I think the mother and sister didn’t have anything to do there. He is a grown man, making his own living and have a family and children to take care of. The sister has 3 kids and ask his brother to give her money to raise her children and the mother agrees with that and insults his own son and denounce him? That’s what you call a mother? And as someone just said: I will never talk to them again. Period.

Assault is not defined as Battery, do not get the two confused. Assault can mean physical contact, but is also defined as verbal threats or words of a violent nature. Christian Bale is known to be passionate and, at times, verbally aggressive. Weather of not the allegations are true, we must keep in mind that we were not present and cannot make judgements.
