Matthew McConaughey and his longtime love Camila Alves, welcoming their first son Levi Alves McConaughey on July 7th, opens up to OK! Magazine about being parents.
On the delivery of the baby: “We found a great rhythm. Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”
On the entire hospital experience as a proud father: “I have it all chronicled,” he explained. “Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this… let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you.’”
On finding out the sex of the baby during the pregnancy: “I said, ‘Come here, little man. I saw the pecker and screamed that we’d been right all along about him being a boy. Then I brought him over to [Camila].’

Very cute baby! He looks so much like my five-year-old when he was born so he’ll be cute when he grows up. He will definitely look like his mom though.

He cracks me up. Have you heard his ads for the Beef Council? His personality is what it is - very Southern and funny. He will be a great dad.
I’m sure he just meant to say that Camila didn’t need pain meds, and that he doesn’t want anyone to get the idea that a birth without meds is somehow superior.
Ladies, many women before you suffered terribly, and lots of people in the medical field worked very hard so that a comfortable birth is possible. If you freakin’ need or want meds to assist with your delivery, all you have to do is say so.

If he is an honorable man, he will marry the selected mother of his child. There’s more to fatherhood than the reflection of one’s ego in the face of an infant or child.

But, hey, we (the public) are the ones who always want the celebrities to TALK–do interviews, talk shows, etc.

Well, Matthew McConuaghey is the celebrity in this relationship and should be the focus. Camilla chose to let this be about him and his son, that is why her head is down. Both of her guys are looking at the camera.
She should have clobbered him right in mid-contraction with that, “Don’t let the contraction be more than you” comment. Those contractions are more than you.

Daddy sounds like a dork but baby is really cute. If you look at the color just above his fingernails that is what his skin color will look like when he gets all his pigment. Pretty color. He really is BEAUTIFUL!!!
You could put that picture of Matthew next to SMUG in the dictionary and it would describe the word perfectly. After reading his interview I would also put his pic next to dumber than a box of rocks.

He has a lot of growing up to do…dj’ing to brazillian music…dancing…To bad he couldn’t have traded places with the “guy” having the baby. He’d be more sympathic.
