Barack Obama Covers People Magazine

Barack Obama Covers People Magazine

Sen. Barack Obama takes the cover of People magazine’s latest issue.

Joining the 46-year-old Democratic presidential candidate on the cover is his wife Michelle, 43, and his two daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7. Here’s a little sneak peek:

Barack’s daughters get a $1 per week allowance from Dad for doing their chores, like setting and clearing the dinner table.
– The kids receive no birthday or Christmas presents from Mom and Dad, who spend “hundreds” on birthday slumber parties and, as Barack puts it, “want to teach some limits.”

Also featured on this week’s cover is the debut of former Pregnant Man’s baby girl, Susan Juliette.

“She’s so precious, I just can’t stop staring at her,” Thomas Beatie tells People in his first interview since he and wife Nancy returned home. “Just holding her is the best feeling in the world.”

I can’t stand this guy and can’t believe he has one in a million chance of the presidency. I’m a long time Democrat but I’m voting for McCain this time, just because it makes me sick how moony the Dems have been over this jerk. Hillary can come back in four years. McCain will make it easy for her to win.

What an adorable family. In spite of all the hubbub surrounding the campaign the girls seem to be very poised and grounded. I think it is wonderful that the Obama family is in People magazine. Shouldn’t we know as much about the man who may be the next leader of the free world as we do about Britney or Brangelina’s babies? Let’s get to know the man and his family and not the labels that his opponents want to put on him. “Elitist” is a joke. If there is a story to tell I am sure they will put McCain’s family on the cover. But the story is more of the same, more Bush. A needless war, soaring gas prices, people losing their homes and jobs, unaffordable healthcare, global warming. Ask yourself is this country better off than we were 8 years ago? I don’t thinks so that’s why I am voting Obama ‘08!

GO TO HELL

Sincerely,

from a black girl

Chantall, Obama’s childhood is not relatible at all. He is a child of privilege. He lived all over the world in Indonesia, Hawaii and the Midwest. His white grandparents basically raised him. He didn’t want for anything while growing up.

Will next weeks People magazine cover be “The McCains at Home” ?

I was SO for Hillary at the beginning of the primaries. However, I have come to love Barack Obama and what he stands for, and my husband has always been a champion for his presidential bid. I am very delighted to see him and his beautiful family on the cover. Folks need to take a step back and realize the issues that he stands for and promote- his campaign is about so much more than himself- it is an agenda that will help unify communities, policies, governorship and overall issues in a manner that we have never seen in our lifeime (for those of us 35 years and and under). You can have whatever personal opinion of him that you want, but the fact remains that his platform and idiology is what makes him stand apart, miles ahead, of McCain’s policies. He will be the leader who sil spearhead us into the next century. We are behind times people- we really are. We need to catch up to all the technical and interpersonal advances that so many other counterparts and nations have already had the privilge of doing. He will most definitely get my vote. Go Obama!!!!

WELL SAID!

OBAMA 08!

i miss my brother so much. **** the war!

Obama 2008!

A great percentage of Californians will vote for Obama….I voted for Senator Clinton (as a peer) and will vote for Senator Obama in November. Secretly, I still hope he defies all the pundits by demonstrating the courage to have Hillary as his running mate as together they could bring great healing to our country.

Beautiful family and they will be just fine. Hopefully, Senator and Mrs. Obama will not permit access to the White House by just anyone! From what I have assessed, these parents have a very strong set of personal and family values.

Actually, Zoe, YOU are the clown. It was painfully clear that when Obama said 57 contests he was referring to the total number of primaries taking place–the 50 states and Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Americans Abroad, etc. Perhaps you should have payed more attention to the process instead of assuming that a Harvard Law graduate doesn’t know that there are in fact more than 50 contests during the primary season.

Anonny, you’ve got no clue what you’re talking about. Obama a child of privilege? That’s a laugh. His single mother was on food stamps for a while, she had so much trouble making ends meet. While living in Indonesia with his mother and stepfather Obama stayed in a small house FAR from the upper middle/upper class beginnings John McCain and Hillary Clinton enjoyed. And Barack Obama has stated several times that he payed his way through both Columbia and Harvard Law with student loans that he *just* finished paying off less than 10 years ago. It’s ridiculous that you can even equate Obama’s economic status to McCain’s, whose mistress turned wife is heir to over $100 million dollars.

go obama f***** the haters!!

I can’t believe American’s would still vote for a Republican after what
they have done to your economy, plus the fact McCain is 72 years old and just like George Bush.

For us non-Americans watching, Obama comes across as a very intelligent, worldly and articulate man, unlike Bush who can
barely string a sentence together, in the end you get the President you
deserve, it is a democracy after all.

POOKY WAHLBUCKER @ 07/24/2008 at 12:53 am

All I know is, if Obama ever made the mistakes McCain did so far, everyone would be saying, look he isn’t smart , he isn’t this or that..
Obama had to work twice as hard to prove himself, yet McCain screeews up every day and he is given a pass by the media.

I like Obama because he actually has a brain. I noticed Americans have an aversion to intelligence.. LOL

And I love how McCain says he knows how to win wars when Vietnam was never won by the U.S. In fact, you could say the insurgent won because over 58,000 of our troops were killed, mamed, etc and we came back empty handed. Iraq is the same thing. There was never a war in Iraq, we were fighting guerilla warfare. The same thing the Russians were fighting in Afghanistan (Remember Al Qaeda (Bin Laden) & The Mujahadeen?).

NOTE TO AMERICAN:

Colonization is not a war! We were not fighting an army.

Sunni Iraqi insurgents employed Al Qaeda because they wanted to get rid of the enemy: us..

The surge couldn’t work if the Sunnis didn’t decide for themselves that they wanted a change and to be a part of the Iraqi government. A surge can’t stop suicide bombers. See why Israel built a wall to separate themselves from the Palestinians? If the Sunnis decide tomorrow that they are disenfranchised and commence the fight, it would be back to square one.. This dichotomy Obama is privy to..

Bush, McCain, Cheney and the nutty right wingers have never understood the dynamics and politics of the Iraqi insurgency.
And it is this dynamic that makes Obama so commanding. This is why Europeans and others like him because he is aware of the real problems the world faces.

Now for all the McCain lovers, when your candidate can tell the

difference between Czech-lo-slovakia and the (Czech Republic and

Slovakia), Sunni & Shi’ite, Putin (then) being the President of Russia

and NOT Germany, Now Russia and NOT Soviet Union,

Pakistan/Afghan border and NOT Iraqi/Afghan border, then you can

call Obama name. For someone running on “experience”, foreign

policy chops, this man (McCain) sure doesn’t know the basics.

I guess having actual knowledge of FACTS is not important for Republicans.

Remember, it was McCain that dared Obama to go to Iraq. And it was the Republicans that kept saying that we don’t know who Obama is.. That is why the Press is following him. And I have to hand it to Obama’s people, they are hands down more intelligent and organizational than the McCain crew.

After all the war crimes and pure destruction of this country by GWB and Company (including McCain), we need someone that is organized.
Obama has what we need to bring this country back on it’s feet.

P.S. As for Phil Gramm, McCain’s Economic advisor (still, in the background), us whiners will not be deterred by your fearmongering!!

SALLY @ 07/23/2008 at 10:55 pm

And????? The majority of Obama voters are college educated and earn over $50,000. Clearly if you went to college …well you know the rest. Like we care. Don’t vote for him , then! Go vote for John “wired hanger abortions” and “100 years in Iraq” McCain. Have fun! Good luck!
