Jon Voight: Barack Obama Will Weaken America
Jon Voight has taken a very public stance for the Republican nominee for President, Sen. John McCain. The 69-year-old actor had some very strong words for Sen. Barack Obama and shared them with The Washington Times:
“Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.
“The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.
“And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend… If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.”

Right you are, Jon. It is thinking people who see past this media darling of the ignorant press and realize that what lies underneath is truly scary. McCain is the most real person to run for the job of president, obviously. We cannot afford to make mistakes based on the fan magazine style information coming about the democrat candidate. We must make the intelligent choice, and that choice is McCain.
I am a libertarian in philosophy and even with that, it is clear that McCain is the only candidate running who will get my vote.
It all makes sense now why Angeline doesn’t want this man in her life. And to think, I felt sorry for him that he couldn’t see his grandchildren. Good call Angelina.
Wow in this case I guess the apple falls way far from the tree, what an old republican ignorant moron. With the way this man treated his wife and children he should be the last person to comment on someone’s values and beliefs since his are so questionable to begin with. Damn John all the good work your daughter has done and this is all you can come up with, people like this is whats wrong with this country. I hope Obama wins but his chances are very slim, we’re gonna be subjected to look at McCains nasty face for the next 4 years. Thanks Jared for the post.
How refreshing! Thanks to Jon Voight for daring say something different at last on super God Obama. People are so blind and naive when it comes to him.
Can any of you identify Obama’s position on any of the major issues facing us?
A warm and friendly face? We’re talking about the office of President, not an actor. Ted Bundy had a warm and friendly face.
When the government starts paying for everything - your medical care, your housing or dumb mortgage decisions - where do you all think they get the money?
Beware politicians promising a great big shiny program that will make everyone happy and bring equality to the masses. The last biggest example of that was Communism.
up yours jon voight!
wow, he’s stupid…
Damn SHAKIRA what the hell does libertarianism have to do with McCain being a better candidate?? I know you’re trying to sound intellectual but if you re-read your post you will realize you made absolutely no sense whatsoever. What bubble are you living in and if so at least try not to use an ethnic name like Shakira, makes you sound hypocritical. I think Becky would be a better name for a “libertarian” such as yourself.
Finally, some sense out of Hollywood! BRAVO!
My God… Bush has very nearly destroyed the country; we are spending more than 10 billions dollars per month in Iraq; we are in hock to China and other countries with the astronomical deficit they have created; jobs are at risk; health care costs are out of sight; and the housing debacle continues. And Voight thinks Obama will ruin the country. Obama is a thinking human being. he will surround himself with exceptional people who will work to sort out the mess the Cheney/Bush regime has left for the American people. I believe he will do his absolute best to be a good president. McCain is a puppet of the right. Watch who he picks as his running mate, and check his connections to the corrupt Rove group. Then they’ll pick off McCain and have their guy in office for another 8 years. NO!! Throw all of the corrupt Republicans out. Bush and Cheney should be shamed on leaving office. People for miles should turn their backs to them when they leave office - or throw rotten tomatoes. Also… I will NEVER support another film that Jon Voight is in. He is a fool.
Jon is right. Obama is as fake as they come. And don’t be surprised if Ang votes for McCain. She’s an independent, gun and freedom loving woman.
I also like how his unfortunate interment in a torture chamber has over-shadowed the fact he was a terrible pilot and often shot down (McCain) as reported by the military knowledgeable. He was no Douglas MacArthur.
THANK YOU JON VOIGHT YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE IN HOLLYWOOD WITH GUTS TO STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.
YOU SHOULD BE PRAISED FOR YOU WISDOM!!!
JM FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
WHO CARES WHO THE EUROPEANS LIKE!
Barack has been built up like some kind of Messiah who is going to save us.
Anyone who lives in Chicago is very familiar with Obama style politics.
We have the highest sales tax and high gas prices.
If we used the same criterion that is being applied in Barack’s favor FDR would never have been elected! An old guy in a wheelchair!!
I am personal moderate, but these radicals f*** up both parties. I don’t know how Voight doesn’t see how he himself is just as radical as those he is name-dropping; he is simple a radical -right winger- is all.
It is funny and ironic that on a political level Angie would discuss policy with someone of Voight’s political leaning whereas he would have nothing to do with any perceived ‘liberal’ like her and yet on a personal level he wants to have dialogue with her and she doesn’t with him (well, maybe, DIDN’T is a better word). Anyway I much much much prefer Angie’s politics. She nicely blends idealism with pragmatism. While Jon and others give their views and wave their placards Angie gets her hands dirty. Unlike many on both sides of the political spectrum she is no dilettante and no party cheerleader.
I couldn’t agree with you more #27!
There was always that existing question…but, I think I found the answer.

__________
And I love how the military officials themselves, right on the ground, report back on how their tanks are still improperly shielded and they are lacking in basic safety materials that result in countless preventable deaths.
OMG…I always defended Jon Voight on behalf of a reunion with Angelina Jolie, but I think I’ve just been enlightened as to WHY she has little to do with him. Yes, I can see now they are from entirely different worlds.
I’m from California and voted for Hillary because she is a peer, however I would never vote for McCain who will present America and the world with a worsening third term McBush. Because John McCain did not learn from the Vietnam War, he should never be elected to sit in the Oval Office.
No matter what Senator Clinton said during that highly contested Democratic race, she would never encourage a woman to support a McCain presidency. The reason she, ultimately, lost to Senator Obama was due to the fact that her campaign was poorly run from the very beginning. Unfortunately, a lot of non-Democratic racists who “might” have voted for her in the General Election are using Obama as a scapegoat for her loss!
I’m an Independent and can fairly state that no true Democrat would crossover in this particular election of all elections. Guess some people haven’t suffered enough, yet, eh?!
FURTHERMORE….
Angelina and Brad will vote Republican for tax breaks…duh
let’s just be honest here…most (not all) of you are coming up with all these lackluster reasons why Obama won’t work as president. of course we’re all entitled to our opinions. it’d be boring if we all felt the same way. but seriously, let’s not beat around the Bush (pun intended). this country is still deathly afraid of anything different and Obama represents something different because he is a black man running for president. instead of coming up with all these reasons, some of you just come out and say it because it’s clear why you don’t want him to win — he’s black.
Obama is the perfect man. Much more suitable than McCain. Please all Americans vote Obama, he is much more well loved and liked than McCain. It won’t just be beneficial for the USA but for the whole world..
I wish Jared was partnered with the WashingtonTimes rather than Useless Weekly, where this is initially posted.
Jared why are you sensoring comments? Where the heck is my post?
What a ****. The man is insane. Who is he to be judging Obama? Didn’t he walk out on his wife and kids? How moral is he? And McCain did the same thing-left his wife when he returned home from Vietnam because she had an accident while he was away and was not as pretty as she once was. I’m not making that up-google it, and you’ll see. Besides, McCain suffering in Vietnam does not necessarily mean he would make a good president. Besides, US soldiers did horrendous inhumane things in Vietnam which have been well documented. They too displayed the militant teachings that Voight is speaking out against.
