Yes, they will still chase them to take their pictures, but it’s the first pictures that will make the most money, and that money will go to charity. It’s good what B&A are doing.

This issue has been debated long before your post, and your view may not change. However, we all know the papz will get pictures of(and make lots of money off) these babies eventually. Why not avoid the crush of interest, please the fans, and do something for humanity by selling the pix? The solution the JPs came up with when Shiloh was born was phenomenal! Let us not be the “Ugly Americans” with all going to profit. Take a lose-win situation, and turn it into a win-win. I appreciate the Jolie-Pitts’ clever sensitivity.

Kung Fu Panda’ helps DreamWorks Animation profit

LOS ANGELES: Computer-animated movie house DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. said Tuesday its second-quarter earnings beat Wall Street expectations because of a knockout performance by its latest film, “Kung Fu Panda.”

The movie, distributed by Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures June 6, has become the studio’s most successful non-sequel U.S. film.

It helped the company bring in about $141 million in revenue and net income of $28 million, or 30 cents per share.

Analysts, on average, expected revenue of $122 million, with earnings per share of 23 cents, according to a survey by Thomson Financial.

The film has so far grossed $209 million domestically and $510 million at the worldwide box office, and added an unexpectedly large $46.4 million of revenue in the quarter.

“Despite the difficult economy, the overall theatrical business remains very strong,” Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg told analysts on a conference call.

The results represent a 37 percent drop in revenue and a 55 percent drop in net profit from the same quarter a year ago.

DreamWorks Animation produces two animated movies per year and can experience large fluctuations in its quarterly results.

“Shrek the Third,” released in the summer of 2007, brought in $29.9 million in revenue in the quarter, mostly in pay TV monies, while the fall 2007 release “Bee Movie,” added $25.5 million in sales thanks to overseas DVD revenue.

The studio expects to release a sequel, “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” on Nov. 7.

The “Madagascar” sequel, costing between $150 million to $170 million to produce, is also expected to see marketing costs rise 10 percent to more than $190 million because of the weak dollar, Katzenberg said.

DreamWorks Animation has been a driving force behind the rollout of 3-D screens in North America ahead of the March release of its 3-D movie, “Monsters vs. Aliens,” after which it will produce all its movies in 3-D.

The company now expects between 2,500 and 3,000 screens in North America will be able to show the film in 3-D in March, or about half the screens it will debut on, said Chief Financial Officer Lew Coleman.

The company is hoping theater owners charge a premium between $3 and $7 for 3-D screenings, which would allow it to reap more profits.

“We clearly want them to charge as much as they think they can and maintain the audience,” Coleman told The Associated Press. “It will be an experiment in price elasticity.”

I will only believe this if People Mag. keeps shut about the Jolie Pitts for the next few days or if they publish the news on their website. I honestly was thinking that maybe they were never going to sold the pictures.

I admire the Jolie-Pitts they are good people the only reason these trolls complaining is because they are so jealous,it is nice seeing them jealous.You know jealousy is a mental illness .They hate to see the B&A getting praise.

What an utter waste of money. Shame on People magazine. They should donate the money directly to charity.
