Brad Pitt is Lieut. Aldo Raine

Brad Pitt in one step closer to playing Lieut. Aldo Raine in Quentin Tarantino’s uberviolent WWII project Inglorious Bastards.

Reps for the 44-year-old actor confirmed to EW that Brad is currently in negotiations to star in the Universal Pictures flick. It’s also been said that Tarantino is NOT interested in Leonardo DiCaprio playing the role of Col. Hans Landa.

As reported a few weeks ago, Inglorious Bastards will shoot this fall in Germany and also in France, where Brad, partner Angelina Jolie, and their six kids have been residing.

In late August, Mr. Pitt and pal George Clooney are expected to open the 65th annual Venice Film Festival and promote their new flick, the Coen BrothersBurn After Reading.

I think that galloway and his/her passive/aggressive posts have been given enough attention. Maybe we should move on to something else?
*************
I agree, we gave too much attention to her. Let’s ignore her.

Why the Venice Lido is a launchpad for the Oscars

As the lineup for the Venice film festival is announced, we blow the whistle for awards season kick-off
Jeremy Kay guardian.co.uk, Wednesday July 30 2008

The Venice lineup of US entries is skimpy this year because the writers strike in the first quarter slowed down production. As a result the studios are holding back some of their big guns until later in the year because otherwise, well, they wouldn’t have much to get excited about come November and December. Mueller and his team previously announced that the Coen brothers’ dark CIA comedy Burn After Reading will open the event and, while an Oscar win for a comedy is about as unlikely as a snowstorm in July, it would take a brave pundit to bet against Joel and Ethan, who won three statuettes for No Country For Old Men back in February.

Speaking of early contenders, Toronto, which unveils its lineup in a piecemeal way over the course of several weeks, has secured a world premiere berth for The Duchess starring Keira Knightley as the outspoken 18th century Duchess of Devonshire. Knightley will face stiff competition from Angelina Jolie, whose work as a traumatised mother in Clint Eastwood’s period mystery Changeling
mesmerised critics in Cannes.

That Jolie, Knightley, Jenkins and the late Heath Ledger have gained early traction in the race is down to Hollywood’s massive publicity machine. Studios hire awards consultants who in turn start to draft campaigns in the summer and spend the ensuing months making sure we never stop hearing about this actor or that film. It’s like Chinese water torture. TV ads in the US are already talking up Emma Thompson’s “Oscar-worthy” performance as Lady Marchmain in the British feature adaptation of Brideshead Revisited.

Why does it bother some people so that one person has expressed an opinion that Brad Pitt is highly overrated? I don’t understand the kneejerk reaction. It’s curious and smacks of weird insecurity and oddball transference. I really think Leo DiCaprio, Daniel Day Lewis, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Johnny Depp are probably the most talented male actors out there. But if any of you disagreed, I certainly would get my knickers in a bunch and react with personal attacks.

Get help people…it’s out there.

(Btw…has it ever occurred to any of you that my agenda is not to malign your precious hero or defend Jennifer Aniston….nor is to have civil discourse with any of you on the entertainment industry. Perhaps all I want is for loons to make idiots of themselves and prove what nutjobs they truly are. Food for thought don’t you think?)

I like the idea Brad and Ed Norton are together in this movie. They were so good in Fight Club. Brad is beautiful in that picture.

Can’t wait for Venice Film Festival. We will see Brad possible Angie too. I miss them.

movies - I sleep on threads? Really now. Shall we count my posts? Contrary to what Jill of the multiple personalities claims, I only post as galloway. JA wouldn’t even be on my radar if it weren’t for the vitriol of loons. isn’t that ironic?

So if Brad is doing this IB movie, and he did Tree of Life, he has two movies coming out next year. But Angie won’t have one, unless she does The Mercenary (Atlas Shrugged seems so far from being written to her satisfaction). Hmmm, after we had our fill of two movies this year, with one more coming in November, there will suddenly be a void and we will be missing Angie for a while. I hope she does something really quick (in terms of shooting) that will be shown next year.

This sucks. ZERO Jolie films for 2009. Instead we’ll be seeing Maniston promoting her films.

Jared Lurker @ 07/30/2008 at 9:20 p
So far only the Duchess. Changeling premiered at Cannes to critical acclaim. The official lineup for Toronto is still being put together.

We will see Brad and Angie together on RC when Brad will promote his movies next year. I read Tree of Life will be shown at Cannes next year. Maybe QT will take IB to Cannes too. I think we will see them a lot next year.

#103 bdj @ 07/30/2008 at 9:11 pm ,Thank you for the article link.

If Changeling is also premiering at TIFF, then we are going to see Brad and Angie together for sure because BAR is showing at TIFF.

hey ,, , brad has been around for a long time, he does not need anyone defending his acting skills , remember , they flew across the world to convince him, apparently we have a closeted brad and Angie fan, other wise, really!!!,….. why waste your time? but that’s between you and your shrink, but i digress, oh yeah, did someone mention something about Jen’s thread? …….hmmmm so that’s why all the hate here, we thought as much.

OMG, PAPAPITT IS SOOOOOOO GORGEOUS.
LOVE YOU BRAD.

beautiful @ 07/30/2008 at 9:13 pm Brad is beautiful in that picture.

I will always support Brad & Angie movies. I hope, they make another movie together. They are so good looking on the red carpet together.

galloway, you are entitled to your opinion of course. you can post that opinion here it is a public blog. you must however know, having posted here before, that a lot of fans are here. you know if you post something negative you will get responses. just own it. you wanted a reaction and you got it so don’t pretend to be surprised. a little discourse never hurt anyone.

Just look at Brad’s four new movies: BAR, CCOBB, Tree of Life and IB. All of them will be critical acclaim movies. I am excited.

You people are so extremely pathetic and desperate for high boxoffice numbers that you have to combine the gross of two films. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH That is so sad! HAHAHAHHHHAAAAAA

Love these new posts, Jared–thanks! Hi to all JP fans!

I remember the days when a mama with six children stayed at home with the babies, too exhausted to do anything but take a tranquilizer every now and then… Angie does EVERYTHING!!! If she doesn’t make a film this year (along with her UN duties), it won’t be long…. Still can’t wait to see the new little ones.

Oh please texasfromvicki, put a sock in it. And by the way good to see you trying out a new name galloway=somestupiddumba**chick=sam. Tell us how does it feel to hate someone and yet read everything about them. Your hate is truly one in a million. Keep it up. I sure you will now change your name again and talk about people you hate so much. You must be creaming yourself.
