Vanessa Hudgens is the September 2008 cover girl for Teen Vogue. Here are some choice quotes from her interview:
On graduating from the High School Musical franchise: “It’s sad. This is our last time doing a movie together, and we love each other so much. We really grew up together. We can be free when we’re around one another, and the amount of fun we have is ridiculous.”
On her personal love life with Zac Efron: “I keep my relationship quiet. I think that works.”
On her style matching the ease of her California upbringing: “I like putting things together that you would not expect. It’s always me.”
On proceeding with extreme caution in choosing her next project: “I don’t want to do something that messes me up mentally. I think people just don’t realize that sometimes actors can really take it in and become that person.”
On being extremely proud of her HSM character: “I love that Gabriella is Hispanic. It’s nice to be able to stand up for people who don’t have someone to look up to very often.”
The September 2008 issue of Teen Vogue is on sale nationwide Tuesday, August 5.

And yet young girls all over the world aspire to be like her…wow, their parents must be so proud.

The two of you sound so much alike. I could almost believe you were one and the same person—and you probably are.
katie, she has done nothing that indicates she is in love with herself but when someone says they want to slap someone that has done nothing but have a picture appear on the cover of a magazine the person who wants to do slapping is usually is just mad becasue they have never and most likely will never get such attention. They feel like it is unfair that someone else—in this case Vanessa—is getting more attention and praise. You resent it—hence the desire to slap her.
rachel, you are finding fault and are actually ridiculing someone who was the victim of that infamous picture. It was a private picture. It was meant for one person to see. Someone thought they would be smart but was actually vile and underhanded and printed this picture on the internet. Vanessa stood up, admitted it was her. took responsibilty for it, never once trying to make people feel sorry for her, and she took numerous hits for it but kept her beautiful head held high. So, why wouldn’t someone want to aspire to be like THAT? I would certainly think her parents would be proud of her.

Hi guys, I’m from the the Philippines. We are called Pilipinos not Filipinos ( that;s our National Language). Those people who say that Pilipinos are trash,( aray nakakasakit kayo ng loob) you better think twice, Pilipinos all over the world are the most intelligent, hardworking, trustworthy and most importantly God fearing. I am very thankful for being a Pilipino and grew up in the Philippines ’cause there is no racistism and prejudicism here. We look at peolpe in the same level ( no black no white)as member of our family. We love people as they are. Even though other people taught our old ones bad and corrupt practices we still understand and love them specially you Americans (It is not us who taught us the trash things but the peoples and countries that invaded us for thousands of years and still trying to infuence us nowadays) We are “Hispanic” in a sence that we have Spanish blood in us. So if you refer to Vanessa’s ancestry she is partly a Pilipino and having Pilipino traits as us. And we are very glad that she’s accepting the fact. We are proud of her because she stood up to some American racists and prejudicism.
Keep up the good work. We are with you all the way. We are patiently waiting to see you in your next movie and movies to come. We are dying to hear your voice in your new cds. hmm, about the hispanic thing she just appreciates the fact that she was able to represent someone that is not usually look up to by people in general very often and for the record she is half filipino from her mother side and she’s proud of it (type hsm 3 interview on youtube) now, most filipinos have spanish blood since their country was a colony for more than 300 years
