NEW YORK - People magazine has scored the U.S. rights to exclusive photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newborn twins, a representative for the magazine told The Associated Press on Friday.
The magazine will feature Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, in its Monday issue, People spokeswoman Nancy Valentino said Friday.

“We’re thrilled to be able to feature these pictures in People,” said managing editor Larry Hackett in a statement. “They will delight our readers who have followed the growth of the Jolie-Pitt family.”

The babies were born one minute apart July 12 in Nice, France. Their arrival begat much speculation over which celebrity magazine would enter a bidding war for the first photos of the boy and girl.

- THIS LOVE STORY IS TOPPED BY NO OTHER……Just as we look back at the time of Marilyn Monroe and Joe Dimagio, Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton….and peoples adoration of them makes sense now, people will also look back on our fascination with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and it will make PERFECT SENSE! …the Jolie-Pott love story is ONE HUNDRED TIMES better than any of those, and its filled with a mixture of humanitarianism, politics, sexyness, adoption, and Kick A*S*S movies!!!!!

- THERE IS ALOT OF GROWTH AND INSPIRATION HERE….Both Brad and Angie have grown as people and as artists. Trading will never be the same.NEW YORK (Reuters) - The first pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s newborn twins have been sold to entertainment news magazines People and Hello!, with all proceeds going to charity.

Getty Images said on Friday it had done an exclusive photo shoot of the twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, with Jolie, Pitt and the couple’s four other children, Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh — three of whom are adopted.

Getty did not disclose the amount paid by the magazines for the photo rights but some news media reported it was about $11 million. An industry source said that figure was higher than the amount paid by both People and Hello!

“The Jolie-Pitt family and Getty Images have agreed that all proceeds will be used for charitable purposes,” the agency said in a statement.

It said the photos will be published on Monday in People in North America and in Hello! elsewhere.

Oscar winner Jolie, 33, gave birth to the twins on July 12 in Nice, France. The family has rented a villa in nearby Provence.

Jolie and Pitt, 44, are one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples, dubbed “Brangelina” by the celebrity press, and the birth of their twins was the subject of obsessive media coverage.

People magazine reportedly paid $4 million in June 2006 for North American rights to pictures of Jolie and Pitt’s first biological child, Shiloh, although industry sources said that figure was wildly inaccurate.

The couple donated the money from the photos of Shiloh, who was born in Namibia, to charities helping African children. Continued…

NEW YORK (AP) — People has scored the photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newborn twins, the second time the celebrity magazine won the North American rights to the couple’s exclusive baby pictures in exchange for a hefty donation to charity.

The magazine will feature Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon in an issue to hit newsstands Monday, People spokeswoman Nancy Valentino said Friday. Valentino said she didn’t know how much was paid for the photos, which were expected to fetch a figure that would dwarf previous baby-pic payouts.

“We’re thrilled to be able to feature these pictures in People,” managing editor Larry Hackett said in a statement.

People plans to unveil the first photo on its Web site on Sunday evening.

Even before the babies were born July 12 in Nice, France, the speculation began over which celeb mag would come out on top of an inevitable bidding war. The couple ultimately chose a familiar route in its joint deal between People and London-based Hello! magazine.

Jolie and Pitt sold the rights to the first shots of their daughter Shiloh, now 2 years old, to Getty Images in exchange for a donation to charity in 2005. People reportedly paid $4 million for the U.S. rights to those photos, and London-based Hello! magazine obtained the British rights.

And last year, the couple sold intimate shots of their son Pax, then 3 years old, to Hello! and People. The two magazines are again sharing the rights to the Jolie-Pitt photographs, with each publication contributing to the final price.

Getty Images was back in the game this time: In a statement, Getty co-founder and CEO Jonathan Klein said his company was “delighted that all proceeds from these stunning images will once again be donated entirely to charity. It is a privilege to use the power of our imagery to make a difference in the lives of so many throughout the world through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.”

In June 2006, People magazine published six photos of Pitt, Jolie and baby Shiloh, who displayed the Jolie pillow-lipped pout just days after her birth. Media week reported two months later that the issue sold 2.2 million copies, its biggest seller at the time since its 4 million-selling 9/11 special.

Jolie, 33, and Pitt, 44, established their foundation in 2006, often making children the focus of their giving. They donated $1 million in June to The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict to help children affected by the war in Iraq. Last year, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation gave more than $300,000 to support the International Rescue Committee’s relief program for Darfur refugees.

It’s like ultrasounds - they look nothing like the baby does when it is born. If these twins had been singles then the due date was around mid August - so basically what we will be seeing is a couple of babies that needed to be “cooked” for another month. At anyrate - I’m sure they will be cute and with the rest of the family the photos will be fantastic.

Mike - did you come here to enlighten us with his intelligent banter and witty comments about what really matters, as if we don’t already know? So clever. I think he just wants to look down on all of us and tell each one of us how foolish we are for paying attention to celebs in our free time, and in doing so feel superior. The Jessica Alba baby cover is said to have snagged around $1.2 million for her baby photos, which had newsstand sales of around 600,000.
The McConaughey cover is said to have landed $2 million to $3 million, sold about 550,000.
This is not only good news for OK! on the newsstand front, it’s great news on the ad sales front. OK’s ad sales team will be able to use these numbers against the competition in the second half of the year, which should help make these even a bigger success.

You must not have been following this very closely. Her pregnancy due date was mid August. Since she was having twins this usually means they are born a few weeks earlier and if there are any problems like preclampsia etc the babies are delivered as early as is safe for mom and babies. Angie went into hosp for bed rest and there was a delivery date set. However, the doctors decided that for safety of Angie and babies they would deliver earlier. If she had been carrying a single child and the pregnancy was going okay she probably would have delivered in mid august.

Another 14 million dollars donated to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation on top of the 8 million that they donated to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

Wow they do such much with their money.

I agree with you! I found really annoying when Mike or someone else said that I am looking here someone who will accept me if I ever visit America! Why would I wish that, that would be so rude from me, to be in someone’s house, those people don’t know me and I don’t know them! There are hotels in America, and english is my third language (someone said to me that if I want to come to America, than I must learn english), well I do know that I am not very good in it, but I think that I would be capable to manage here in US, I would not travel alone! I doubt very much that Hello and People split the money evenly -if they did split it at all. Hello’s target audience is not as big s People’s and an even split makes no business sense at all.

Last time with Shiloh there was no splitting of fees. People negotiated and paid their own amount. Hello negotiated and own paid their amount for British rights and Getty paid a third amount for other distribution rights. I’m not sure if the Australian magazine which had the Shiloh photos paid a separate price or they were owned or partnered with one of the above three.

In reality none of us really knows for sure the final amount paid for Shiloh’s photos. IIRC none of the parties involved ever released the amounts.

…I’m not quite disgusted, but I realize that I shouldn’t be quite so fervently anticipating seeing and BUYING the magazine…..I justify these feelings by reminding myself of a few things…

- FATE……Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are one of the GREATEST love stories in Hollywood history based on all we know in the information age regarding how they found each other….their AMAZING chemistry on screen……how their past history seemed to bring them so inevetably and PERFECTLY together at just the right time in their lives!

- THIS LOVE STORY IS TOPPED BY NO OTHER……Just as we look back at the time of Marilyn Monroe and Joe Dimagio, Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton….and peoples adoration of them makes sense now, people will also look back on our fascination with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and it will make PERFECT SENSE! …the Jolie-Pott love story is ONE HUNDRED TIMES better than any of those, and its filled with a mixture of humanitarianism, politics, sexyness, adoption, and Kick A*S*S movies!!!!!

- THERE IS ALOT OF GROWTH AND INSPIRATION HERE….Both Brad and Angie have grown as people and as artists. They share similarities in that they are BOTH underestimated because of their looks, and because their celebrity is UNPRESIDENTED….thus the snide, snarky comments in the media, the ridiculous stalking by the paparrazzi, and the jealousy among their peers.

- THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING…..call it looks, call it sex appeal, call it talent, or none of the above…..but Brad and Angie HAVE IT…..whatever ‘IT’ is…..THEY’VE GOT IT IN BUCKET-LOADS….and I’m addicted!

….Bottom line…..theres no need to feel disgusted by our irrational interest in this couple. ENJOY IT. We will all be able to say that we were living in the time of WAR, TERRORISM, GLOBAL WARMING, ….but amid the chaos, we were witness to the MEDIA INSANITY, the ALTRUISM, and the LOVE OF BRAD AND ANGELINA.

OMG !!! I just can’t wait but I have to wait for my orders from my fav book store since these mags are not on sale here. I wonder when will they be delivered. Anyway, I can have the first glimpse on the internet and I will have to be contented with that.

We have had a month of no Brange news. Life has been so booring on the web. No the light flows in, and Brange news and the web heats up. I wonder why any mention of them makes the general public go crazy. Look at the comments on their thread; through the roof.

I’m sure Jen is going to do something to get attention this week. There is talk of an engagement. I mean they have known each other for about 3 or 4 months. Why are they waiting so long. In reference to the couple’s list, everyone on that list is sooo booring it is unreal. Some of the couples I have never even heard of. Can’t wait to see the pics. I’m worried the site might crash with the number of hits it will get.
