So let me get this right #175 you think that the razzis and the tabs should profit from their kids, because you know and I know that a picture of those twins are going to be sold for monies and me personally prefer for BP and AJ to get the money and give it to charity.I also love people who say what they would or would not do if they where in their postion, when in fact you have no idea of how you would handle yourself if you were in their position, I doubt very seriously that you’ve had camouflaged paps invaded your property.

The extraordinary amount of money paid for pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins
goes straight to charity.

Whether it’s $10 million or $15 million or something in between, I can confirm that People magazine and its cohort in this craziness, Hello!, will get huge tax breaks. The money will be listed as a donation to the Foundation, which is run by a group called Foundation Source out of Long Island.

Last year, as I first reported exclusively, the Pitts parked over $8.5 million in the charity, evenly divided between the two of them. Most of the $2.4 million that was distributed to charities included $1 million each to the Epidermolysis Foundation and Doctors without Borders. The Red Cross in Namibia, where baby Shiloh was born, got $137,035 although it’s unclear whether any of the local jounalists who lost their jobs during that time were ever compensated.

From the money the Jolie Pitt Foundation receives from People and Hello! several local French entities could benefit including the children’s hospital where the babies were born. Even though the south of France is thought of as wealthy, there’s a substantial homeless and poverty class including in nearby Cannes. The Pitts’ money could be used in specific ways there as well.

The Foundation currently claims $6 million in assets, excluding a $1 million pledge they made earlier this summer to the children from war families. The new money could bring their endowment to $20 million. Expect at least some of that to go to families in New Orleans and the American Gulf Coast where Pitt has shown in interest in Hurricane Katrina and Rita survivors who are still suffering.

People like Cate Blanchett, SJP, Salma Hayek haven’t had to worry about paps and tabloids manipulating their children’s pictures. Over the course of the two years that Shiloh’s been on this earth, the tabloids had no qualms photoshopping the $hit out of her pics, just because it, allegedly, made it seem that they got a ‘new and exclusive’ pic of her. The Star photoshop that gave her the runaway bride’s eyes still haunt me.

The older JP kids get the same treatment too; if the twins’s pics were available, they would get the same treatment too. Whether they change the color of their clothes or their eyes, tabloids will do the same thing to photos that they do with their stories.

Market forces and environmental crackdowns could make New Orleans a “new energy” center Based strictly on its climate, New Orleans would seem to have it made in the shade when it comes to solar power. Basking in some of the most intense sunshine of any city in the U.S., and logging,, more sunny days per year than most locales, the city seems a good candidate to become a hotbed of solar energy.

While the premise makes sense, the reality is another story. New Orleans isn’t rife with solar energy installations. In fact, you’d have to do some searching to find the few local homes - and fewer businesses that currently derive a portion of their electric power from the sun’s rays.

The picture could change, however, and some people familiar with the local construction scene believe the chances are good that it will. They say the potential for a surge in solar power is growing thanks to:

That action has begun in several locations around town, most notably in the Lower 9th Ward where non-profit organization Global Green USA is developing new “green” housing in the Holy Cross area. Global Green’s first Holy Cross home - complete with solar roof panels and solar water heater - opened to public view recently, and the organization is proceeding with several others, supported financially by Home Depot Corp., among others.

Some New Orleans residents rebuilding homes to new heights

The D’Aunoys, like many other families in the Lakeview neighborhood, are building homes higher off the ground in hopes of never again losing everything to a hurricane’s floodwaters.

“I told my wife, we’re building the right way and building what we want or we’re not coming back,” said D’Aunoy, who runs a construction estimating business.

Before Katrina, Lakeview was a mix of post-World War II ranch houses, ’90s-era McMansions and stucco homes capped with red tiles. Varying elevation rules since the storm along with varying finances and preferences have created an uneven building pattern, with some houses towering above others that were rebuilt to pre-Katrina stature or on more modest lifts.

Some find the rebuilding pattern nearly three years after Katrina jarring, and there’s question about how it could affect property values.

“Maybe we’ll wake up with, ‘Whoa! There’s too much in-the-sky stuff,’ ” real estate agent Al Palumbo said. “But that’s not on the radar (now).”

D’Aunoy was persuaded by his wife, Marty, a school counselor raised in the city, to rebuild instead of moving to be nearer his family in Phoenix. His priority was getting his family out of a cramped trailer and making sure that the home they returned to was safe.

Money was tight, since his family had barely finished a nine-year renovation, tripling its worth over what they’d paid for it when Katrina hit. But mustering loan and insurance proceeds, federal rebuilding aid and their savings, the couple began building from the 10-foot water line.

Their first story is essentially parking space, a carport, garage and still-unfinished elevator - the kind of design Mayor Ray Nagin outlined when, about a year after Katrina, he encouraged residents to build their “mansion.”

Good Morning all and troll(s) still having a meltdown. Have a great Saturday. I get a kick reading all the fake moral outage from the Hens. Only BP and AJ can provoke such whining, screaming and spamming blogs. These other celebs who opted to post their baby pictures in Magazines get a free ride.

Troll(s) are upset over the amount and the fact that the money will go to charity. All the smear and hate campaigns that they were gloating over did not impact BP and AJ. BP and AJ are doing what is right for them, their family and using the money to help others. They are not PR driven, career obsessed celebs that worry about public perception and time their photo ops based on comments on a Blog. Hate or love them, but you obviously cannot ignore them.
