listen idiot; who said anything about satsuki claiming british citizenship? she doesn’t have to. unless, of course she can see a benefit to eventually applying for british citizenship. there are many people living and working in GB without the benefit of citizenship. they have been doing it for years. you have heard of a little thing called a work permit; please tell me you have.

oh, as for my “fictional relatives” i’ll be sure to let them know what you think. both my uncle and cousin read law at oxford. for the record; you read law where??? i only ask since you seem to know so much. my uncle just LOVES IT when some lay person tries to tell him how the intricacies of the law works. you do understand the definition of the word intricacies.

according to my uncle and cousin here’s how it generally works. as of april 2003,

for the case of satsuki mitchell: she will fall the under the section entitled “Fiancé/e of an UK Citizen” of the Immigration Act of
Great Britain. this is assuming that she is indeed engaged to marry daniel craig.

You must intend to live together permanently with your future spouse once you are married

You will not be permitted to work in the UK on the fiance/e visa, HOWEVER; You should apply for a marriage visa from within the UK when you are married, and will then be eligible to work freely in the UK. the act DOES NOT say that british citizenship is a requirement for a work permit under the marriage visa. once the permit is issued then he/she will be eligible under british law to health care etc etc.

now assuming that they are not engaged; ie common law

you will have to show that any previous relationship whether in marriage or as an unmarried couple has ended.

they have will have to prove that they have been living together for at least two years in a relationship similar to marriage. they will need to provide documentary evidence confirming that they have been living together for this time.

If you have been together for less than four years you are granted a visa for a probationary period of two years. If you are still living together at the end of two years in the UK permanent residence (properly known as indefinite leave to remain) will usually be granted.

You must possess sufficient funds to pay you and your partner’s living expenses and those of any dependants; HOWEVER this part of the law if usually somewhat temporary in many cases. once residence is established and accepted under the law you can then apply for a work permit. there are two ways that are the most common

one apply directly and then search for the job. the other way, which i personally think satsuki would take, would be sponsership by a company willing to hire her. in satsuki’s case i have no doubt. that barbara broccoli’s company would sponser her. once the sponsership is accepted under the law satsuki and/or any other commonlaw partner can legally work in GB.

it sounds easy but it can be time consuming which is why the top firms in great britain and film productions companies have their own in house lawyers expert in dealing the immigration law.

i forgot to add, that if satsuki and/or any other partner of a british citizen is entitled to claim a eruo passport by virture of ireland, france, germany etc then a work permit is not required under British law. that’s because citizens of the european union can move freely and work where they want to.

for example; because i have dual citizenship, in my case france and the untied states; i can work anywhere in the european union i choose

My comment wasn’t aimed at him and her directly, but I think stars of films should keep their wives/husbands/bf/gf in the background. that’s all. Eva didnt parade her bf around nor will we see Olga and Gemma parading theirs around when qos starts. not saying that they deserve the crap that comes with being famous (gossip, nastiness etc) but if they were a little more covert about their relationships then it wouldn’t send out mixed signals. The media were hard pressed to get a decent pic of Daniel by himself when he was doing the CR red carpet. There were only a few. Stars and the producers should be the most visible. I doubt whether Barbara Broccoli liked such a high profile of the gf the last time. But my thoughts pertain to every other actor/actress too not just him.

I do not care one way or the other about his gf, I just think stars should be out front more. if they bring their wife/husband/ etc and then complain about interest in their private lives, then it gives out a mixed message.
I dont think “approval” was sought from him to bring Satsuki, he just did. But, I cant see any decent backer of any movie wanting their main male star being photographed with their gf/wife as much. thats all. If i was in a film, i certainly wouldnt bring my gf into the main spotlight as I wouldnt want her to deal with the press intrusion as much.

There is nobody that will be able to hold his hand and take care of him the way Satsuki does — he will never let her go becasue of that. He needs her more than he thinks, she knows exactly what to say and do to make him feel good and secure.
