Zanessa Rocks 2008 Teen Choice Awards
High School Musical hottie Zac Efron keeps his arm wrapped around his main squeeze, Vanessa Hudgens, during the 2008 Teen Choice Awards at Gibson Amphitheater on Sunday, August 3, 2008 in Los Angeles, California.
Vanessa, who wore a lovely Catherine Malandrino dress, picked up a surfboard for “Choice Female Hottie”, beating out Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, Heroes starlet Hayden Panettiere, Transformers actress Megan Fox and “Umbrella” singer Rihanna.

Vanessa really owns this thread. She looks hot, her make up’s hot, her hair is hot, her shoes are hot, her dress simple but doesn’t distract her beauty. Her legs are super fit. She has been working out for her tour. Zac must be very,very proud of her like she him when he received his award for his last red carpet affair. yani, I beg to differ with you on so many levels. Vanessa, in her simple, but lovely dress, looked gorgeous. She wasn’t overdone or overstated, and her beauty shone through. The layers in her dress, while making it “busy”, lent itself to keeping her hair simple. Curls AND ruffles would NOT have looked good. She jazzed it up with great shoes and the whole look was perfect for her. She has an amazing sense of style, by looking different, but always fabulous!!
As far as Zac diminishing with fans, well, that can’t be farther from the truth. Also, these are TEEN awards and I think that since Zac received the award last year, he would not mind handing it to JB. He’s moving on. And boring? Well, Zac would probably love to be known as boring in Hollywood terms. He’s there to act and grow in his profession. He’s no prima donna party boy.

was this post really necassary? I was a bit surprised you refrained from doing a ”zanessa” post earlier and did sepreate ones for them as individuals, because they are their own people aside from the product placement the media and Disney have made their realtionship. Nothing new was said in this post that we didn’t aready know, so why make it? Oh that’s right because the tweens might freak if zanessa didn’t make an appearance….

Brittany Snow’s comments on Nikki Blonsky’s arrest. It’s nice to know Zac was concerned about his girl.
Brittany Snow is as taken aback as anyone at the news of Blonsky’s Friday arrest for alleged assault in a Caribbean airport.
“Of course I was surprised,” Snow, 22, told PEOPLE Sunday at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
“Nikki is one of my really dear friends, and she’s not a person that I would ever expect to have that controversy … surrounding her,” says Snow.
“But at the same time, you know things get misconstrued in this business,” she adds. “I really hope the best for her, because … she’s one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met, so I just hope it works out – and it will, because she’s a good person, and good things happen to good people.”
Blonsky, 19, and her father, Carl Blonsky, were arrested following a brawl involving the family of America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden in the departure lounge of the Providenciales International Airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Golden was also charged with assault.
Although Snow has not spoken to Blonsky, their Hairspray costar Zac Efron had. “Zac talked to her for a while.”
Snow also said, “I don’t know how it happened or what exactly went on, but my heart goes out to her, because I really do love her, and I know she didn’t mean to hurt anybody – and nor did her dad. Her family is amazing!”

I acctually think it’s safer for Vanessa to live w/a roomate or Zac instead of living on her own!!!!! Kristen, of course, it matters, every award matters. It just gauges what the public think of you, be it teens, tweens , young adults or senior citizens. It is the fans’s choice and I have to say Vanessa’s dedicated fans outnumbered the rest. Vanessa winning this award is as rewarding for the fans who tirelessly voted for her daily.
Despite the upheavals in her young life she has come up trumps. Her onstage performance is awesome and she dances as energetically as she can sing and that is saying a lot.
Things are looking very bright for her future and I’ll be there like many others to support her and cheer for her. It can only get better.
No hate comment can change our minds about how we feel about Vanessa as she has proven herself many times over of what she is capable of in the talent department and in her private life.
Watched the video , the paps were dying for her and Zac to kiss but they just looked at each other and smiled and that was good enough. They didn’t make a spectacle of their relationship unlike some celebrities. I love them for it. It is the little things they do and show that speaks volumes without being overt. And that is privacy.

I love these two, both as a couple and as individuals and I wish them both the best of luck in the future. I’m so happy that Vanessa won and it was sad that Zac didn’t but then again, he won last year so I’m more then sure that he didn’t go around crying about it, besides, someone pointed it out that both Zac and Vanessa won ‘Choice Hottie’ at the age of 19.
I think that there are very few Jonas Brothers fans who really like (and by like, I mean who people think is the hottest and stuff, not who they think is more talented etc. because their a band and the compliment each other) all three of them because it’s always:
“Joe is so Hot”
Or
“Nick is so Hot”
Or
“Kevin is so Hot”
(and it’s all very confusing but w/e)
However, to make sure that one of them won they needed to vote for all of them, so if you add all of these three’s fans then yeah, I’m not surprised that they won, but if you gave them separate nomination (which I think they should have since they only give out 1 surfboard and that the three of them had to share one) then no, I seriously doubt they would have won. But, what’s done is done and we can’t change that, and the JB’s aren’t that bad and Joe was really sweet towards Vanessa.
I’m also curies to see how long these three really want to continue being known as “The Jonas Brothers”, I mean, how long it will be until they get tired of it and would like to try separate things and be just (well, maybe ‘just’ isn’t the best word) ‘Joe Jonas’, ‘Nick Jonas’ and/or ‘Kevin Jonas’, they’ve already said that their little brother isn’t interested to join their band and wants to try something on his own, although, I seriously doubt that any individual projects will happen as long as these three as a group are so popular.
Also, I said this because everyone keep complaining that ‘Zanessa’ is such a huge deal but at least their doing separate projects and at least try to show they two different individuals (Zac and Vanessa).

Well, was in the store today and saw the big cover of Rolling Stone magazine with the Jonas Brothers on the front. I wonder if they will take the same kind of criticism that Zac did? Maybe not since they are first and foremost musical people.
Another reason the Jonas Brothers may have gotten the hottie award and more votes is the fact they are out front right now with a lot of the younger tweens and teens. Camp Rock has been shown about 50 times on the Disney Channel in the past couple months. LOL I think if HSM3 had just been released in the past 2 months that Zac would have easily walked away with the hottie award.

I am so happy that Vanessa has won the award. Zac is nominated for 2 awards, if he did not get Teen Hottie, he should have won the Best Red Carpet Appearance. Both of those awards went to the Jonas Brothers, which is not fair. Zac should either get one of those two awards. I was doubtful of the Teen Hottie, because he had won it last year; however, the Red Carpet Appearance award should have been an automatic win for Zac. Zac has been to more Red Carpet than the Jonas Brothers, and he should have been awarded for that. Plus Zac dresses much hotter than the Jonas Brothers.

And when I saw Nikki and Zac kissing on MOD I started feeling insecure on whether Vanessa was going to dump Zac, and when Vanessa’s photos were leaked I was scared whether Zac was going to hate Vanessa. But then I really realized that I shouldn’t get too worked up on their lives and I should worry about my own. Their lives are like ours, and I dated this one guy and it didn’t work out but then he started dating my best friend tammy, who happens to be dating him for 4 years. I don’t have any feelings for him, but we are the best of friends. And if you were given a dare to kiss someone wouldn’t you do it. It’s the same thing, but the only difference was that his was caught on camera. Now put yourself in a guy’s shoe, and what if you found out your girlfriend’s private pictures leaked all over the internet, wouldn’t you feel sad for your girlfriend, you wouldn’t be mad at her, but you defiantly would feel sad for her. Zac and Vanessa never broke up during the whole “scandal”. When the news broke, Vanessa was with Zac in Australia where he was promoting his movie Hairspray. She came back home to deal with the situation but Zac was still obligated to the promotion tour of the movie and he couldn’t come back home with her. It was as simple as that.
And all this commotion about him denying they are a couple is so ridiculous. He said they were a couple last year in an interview in the Cosmo Girl European version, I believe, but he did actually say “Yeah, we are a couple” but he also said he didn’t want to talk about it. He was meaning—as does Vanessa—they are not going to answer personal questions about their relationship—personal questions like interviewers ask: “Are you going to get married?” or “What’s the worst habit that Zac has around the house?” in trying to get them to say something about their love life or their living arrangements, etc. They shouldn’t have to answer those kinds of questions. Plus, I imagine they would think pictures like the Hawaiian vacation or the DVD release party for HSM2 would be enough to confirm whether or not they are a couple. Why do people need to hear them say words like “Yes, we are dating” , “Oh, I love her so much”. It doesn’t make a difference because those who want to believe they are nothing more than friends or nothing more than a publicity stunt will believe it no matter what. Look at the Ashley fans who are so adamant that Zac and Ashley dated and Ashley is his true love. No matter what Zac and Ashley both say, they make excused about that and say they are just saying that to cover up something. It is easy to see what is between Zac and Vanessa by looking at videos and seeing how they look at each other or touch each other.
And the Nikki thing???? Why would someone think just because they saw them kiss on an interview show that he has a thing for her? They were promoting a movie where their two characters ended up a couple. Did you see the MTV awards where those two actors got selected for best movie kiss and they got up to accept the awards and was like making out in front of the whole viewing public on TV? And you know what? They are NOT a couple in real life! It didn’t mean anything. Plus, Zac said later in a red carpet interview how it was like kissing his sister and how he had wiped the kiss off—and he did right after he kissed Nikki in that interview. They asked Ashley Tidsdale about that kiss on the same red carpet that night and she laughed about it and said “I’ve kissed him too” because she did when he guested on her show Suite Life. She was trying to say the kiss with Nikki was no more than a “show-biz” thing. Lastly, he never got coerced into kissing Nikki again in an interview.

I think a lot of people will not believe that Zac and Vanessa are a “real” couple until the two hire their own paps like Heidi and Spencer and do some very “spontaneous” *cough cough* lip-lock pictures for the world to see.

I loved her account of Greg Hudgens and I think that is why we don’t see him too often. He seems like a guy who is loving and protective of his family. No wonder Vanessa is so sweet and loving. I think this whole Zanessa thing is just ENOUGH already. First of all I live in Zac’s home town of Arroyo Grande, Ca & if you were to hear the comments of a lot of his fellow high school classmates you would understand why he holds onto little MIss Vanessa for dear life. He was NOT all that even just three years ago. He was a nerd and he was not at all popular. As for Vanessa & her stupid impulsive move of putting those infamous photos on the internet & saying that she intended for them to be just for Zac is so nieve. Everyone knows once you put something on the internet it becomes fair game. I think that after all of Zacs’ hard work and mature choices to get where he is now and then to demean himself with his devotion to her is just pathetic.And their time in the spotlight is way over done. ENOUGH is ENOUGH!
