Carrie Underwood - “Just a Dream” Music Video
Peep the new music video for Carrie Underwood’s new single, “Just A Dream.”
It’s the forth single from her second studio album album, Carnival Ride. The vid was directed by Roman White.
“Just A Dream” chronicles a young woman who is about to get married, only to discover that her husband-to-be soldier has been killed in combat. Upon realizing that he is dead, she wishes that it were “just a dream” that her husband had been killed.

“Best Actress Award” for Carrie Underwood. The conversations between the military husband and Carrie in the car, the night before being deployed to war made the music video even more powerful. At the beginning of the video the husband asked, “So, you are thinking about tomorrow? We have some rules.” Carrie asked, “What rules?” Husband, “Let us think about this night between me and you only…” Scene 2, she felt nervous that her husband is to be deployed to war. Carrie, “I felt nervous about tomorrow.” Husband, “Tomorrow is just another day.” Scene 3. Husband, “I have our whole life plan for us and it is perfect . Carrie, “Promise?”. Then they showed Carrie crying in the funeral and then she is in front of the coffin of her husband and she held on to that American Flag given to her, that is what is left of him. Man…I shed lots of tears!!! My heart goes to our men and women in uniform and their families fighting for our freedom.
Damn. That is some powerful sh*t, especially for anyone who has had or currently has a spouse in the armed forces.

Actually IMO, the whole video could be “Just a Dream”. Carrie’s worried about her future husband being in the military, he promises her it’ll be ok, she dreams about the wedding, about getting a letter from the Army, and finally about her husband’s funeral with flag in hand.
The whole production looks like Just a Dream!!! This song and it’s video will effect people in different ways.

This is my favorite song off Carnival Ride and I absolutely love the video. Carrie is gorgeous, can sing and act!!! Roman did a wonderful job along with the Revolution crew…I loved the morphing from white to black. This song should make everyone appreciate what is going on in real life and live for today. Ok listen. I usually hate friggin’ country music- but I have to give props to Ms. Carrie Underwood for this incredible song. She sings the **** out of it– and I actually shed a tear or two. You can really feel the pain, man. Nice job, Carrie.
Wow– Carrie is the most beautiful woman in music industry- period. She should be a model or actress in addition to singing. Her voice is so angelic though– and she really blows on this song. Best vocal performance she has ever given– especially since you can feel the emotion in every word. She has come a long long way from American Idol. This is not a dream. This is really the haunting tale of a young widow attending the funeral of her military husband. It started with the conversations of Carrie and her military husband in the car, the night before he was deployed to war and then Roman White used the “FLASHFORWARD” cinematic device for the funeral of her husband who died in that war. Her memories of the church were of their wedding day which flashed into her mind while at the funeral. She is in a denial and can’t believe that this is happening to her and keep on saying this is “Just A Dream”. Very sadly, it is not “Just A Dream” but a reality that she can’t accept.

This music video is so addictive that I watched it so many times even if I shed lots of tears. From the facial expressions of Carrie and her classic and gorgeous vocal, I can really feel the confusing and life changing aspects of dealing with the tragic loss of her dearest husband - from her happiness during her wedding day which flashed into her mind during the funeral TO THE emotional pain and suffering at the funeral for losing her dearest husband. It is confusing and sometimes it is impossible to explain why her husband died in the war and she asked, “Baby, why’d you leave me, why’d you have to go…I was counting on forever, now, I’ll never know.” God bless our HEROES - our men and women in uniform and their families fighting for our freedom!!!

The most beautiful song to grace the lips of any singer ever and it just happens to be the very beautiful & very talented Ms.Carrie Underwood. This video is a masterpiece!!! Everything works in this video. Just love all the nuances. The emotions are powerful, Carrie’s acting, especially with all the anguish in Carrie’s facial expressions are simply beyond believe!!! Kudos to Carrie & Roman.

first of all i LOVE carrie underwood and this video is AMAZING! when I bought her cd, Carnival Ride, Just A Dream was one of my favorite songs because it was so touching. the video definetly does it justice. it is a beautiful and sad video. i’m so glad she made this video because it really shows us all how much we appreciate the military for risking their lives every day to keep us safe.

As the wife of a deployed soldier, I think this song came out at a bad time… yes, it sheds light on my worst nightmare, but every time I hear it I get very upset… as does every other military spouse I’ve met. It is a beautiful song, but I think Ms Underwood needs to think about who this song is about, and how damaging this is to think about, when we could get that news any moment. I hope no one has to go through the pain that is vividly expressed through that song.
