Carrie Underwood - “Just a Dream” Music Video
Peep the new music video for Carrie Underwood’s new single, “Just A Dream.”
It’s the forth single from her second studio album album, Carnival Ride. The vid was directed by Roman White.
“Just A Dream” chronicles a young woman who is about to get married, only to discover that her husband-to-be soldier has been killed in combat. Upon realizing that he is dead, she wishes that it were “just a dream” that her husband had been killed.

the song is beautiful and carrie has a beautiful voice. I cried especially on the part when her dress changed from wedding dress to a funeral dress. love it! congratulations, carrie!

She always does patriotic songs??? Like what… All-American Girl lol?? That’s like the only other one and neither are really “patriotic”, this one deals with death in war and AAG was just about a sweet girl that captivated everyone.

People who think the special effects are “cheesy” why dont you think about why they are like that. Because its all supposed to look like a “DREAM” because in the video, she is at his funeral but wishing she were at her wedding and shes thinking back to it. Hense the title of the SONG! dur.

I also thought this video and song were beautiful. and who said she was ugly? Get glasses! I didnt cry which surprised me but it was a very touching song. had a hard time understanding what they were saying in the car though. and that guy is hot!!!!

My heart and prayers go out to all of the military widows who have gone through this very ordeal.

Man, what a video and what a voice. I think this video will win some awards for Carrie and of course the song will definitely reach number one on the country charts. If you don’t get teary eyed watching this video, you need some serious therapy.

This is not a dream. This is really the haunting tale of a young widow attending the funeral of her military husband. It started with the conversations of Carrie and her military husband in the car, the night before he was deployed to war and then Roman White used the “FLASHFORWARD” cinematic device for the funeral of her husband who died in that war. Her memories of the church were of their wedding day which flashed into her mind while at the funeral. She is in a denial and can’t believe that this is happening to her and keep on saying this is “Just A Dream”. Very sadly, it is not “Just A Dream” but a reality that she can’t accept.

This music video is so addictive that I watched it so many times even if I shed lots of tears. From the facial expressions of Carrie and her classic and gorgeous vocal, I can really feel the confusing and life changing aspects of dealing with the tragic loss of her dearest husband - from her happiness during her wedding day which flashed into her mind during the funeral TO THE emotional pain and suffering at the funeral for losing her dearest husband. It is confusing and sometimes it is impossible to explain why her husband died in the war and she asked, “Baby, why’d you leave me, why’d you have to go…I was counting on forever, now, I’ll never know.” God bless our HEROES - our men and women in uniform and their families fighting for our freedom!!!

The most beautiful song to grace the lips of any singer ever and it just happens to be the very beautiful & very talented Ms.Carrie Underwood. This video is a masterpiece!!! Everything works in this video. Just love all the nuances. The emotions are powerful, Carrie’s acting, especially with all the anguish in Carrie’s facial expressions are simply beyond believe!!! Kudos to Carrie & Roman.
