OlderLeonardo DiCaprio Mourning Grandmother
Leonardo DiCaprio is currently mourning the death of his beloved grandmother, Helene Indenbirken.
The family confirmed late on Tuesday a report by local newspaper Recklinghäuser Zeitung that Helene Indenbirken, called “Oma” by DiCaprio, had died at her home in Oer-Erkenschwick near Recklinghausen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Leo was said to be very close to Indenbirken, his mother Irmelin’s mom, and even brought her along with him to film premieres and movie sets. No date or cause of death has yet been confirmed.
The Titanic star’s grandmother Helene Indenbirken passed away in a hospital in her native North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. She was 93.
Leo was last seen aboard a yacht relaxing in Spain over the weekend.

May his beloved grandmother rest in peace. She must have had great joy and pride in her grandson’s achievements as an actor and I hope that she didn’t suffer.
I really don’t understand why some posters have felt the need to comment on Bar’s behaviour during this time. We don’t know if they are together or not, (I think not) but if yes, then perhaps he has asked her not to come with him. His last visit with his mother to Germany must have been a very emotional and difficult time, something very private for the closest family only. I am sure that Bar knows how to behave and would have escorted him if that would have been appropriate.
Aw, I remember his grandmother. She was with him and his mom all the time. As for Bar, good lord you nutters need to give it a rest. You’re as bad as the B.loonies, only you have an irrational obsession and hatred for Bar.
Andrea; I really didn’t look closely at the Leo pictures so I didn’t notice if he looked upset. If he did it was because of his grandmother and not Bar. I still think it’s strange that he didn’t stay in Germany with his mother and grandmother.
Anonymous; I really dislike Bar but I did defend her, for the first time, because Leo might have not wanted her to be with him in Germany. Leo was with his grandmother for a few days then went to Ibiza and he was seen partying in nightclubs there. Why should Bar be worried when Leo was not acting that concerned?
tk; I have good reasons to dislike Bar. She’s hates Israel, Judaism, and is a spoiled, stuck-up brat who treats people like crap. I could go on and on. You are ignorant on the subject. Only close relatives WILL attend. Trust me. No outsiders will be allowed to attend the funeral. This isny an Anna Nicole Smith affair or a state funeral. So if we find out that she shows up it will be very telling.
For all you dummies out there you can have compassion and talk about Leo’s oma dying and still talk about other things too. This is a public forum what allegiance does once have towards Leo? I’m glad she lived longer than most, and oh yes Bar really really sucks it…
You don’t have to be close to let someone to attend a funeral of the family member but Leo isn’t that type of person where he will let “outsiders” come just because they want to show compassion.
It will be an extremely small intimate setting I bet. We probably wont even know who is in attendance but I’m guessing Bar wont be there. Only people he’s close to.
I hope you guys will just pray for him and his mother. The hardest thing in the world is to lose your mother and grandmother is definitely #2 on my list, I think that has to be the most unimaginable pain. And they don’t have a very big family either, which is why I think this is even harder on the both of them. When you have a small family, any loss feels like you just lost the world. -take it from me. So guys, lets say a prayer that they will feel better soon. I know that Leo and his mom seem like strong people and they will be fine, but it still would help to send them some prayers and good thoughts. I think they would appreciate that more than anything else.
Leo was seen at a NYC nightclub at 2:30 a.m. this morning. What a strange way to mourn his grandmother! I thought Leo had gone back to Germany after the Ibiza trip to be with his grandmother. I don’t understand why he would fly to NYC and then go to a nightclub.
Maybe it’s true that Leo smokes a lot of weed because that’s strange behavior for someone who lost a grandmother who they were reportedly very close to.
For anyone wondering Bar was mentioned in the sighting so I don”t know if she’s in NYC with Leo.

So you really think Leo and Bar broke-up? I won’t believe it until there’s some kind of confirmation. I never thought that Leo was hooking up with that blonde girl on the yacht so I still believe that they’re girlfriend and boyfriend. If you have inside information please tell us.
I really feel sorry for Leo, as far as I know he was very close to her. I kind of assume that she was sick and he went to visit her, then probably it seemed everything was fine with her and that`s why he left Germany and went partying in Spain and in NYC.

Even IF they broke up Bar might show up around him ( even if she doesn`t go to the funeral ) since they dated for a while and Bar met his grandma. I guess we will see what`s going on with them.

Leo you have our sympathy and our prayers… I know how much your grandmother meant to you, and how proud she was of you ( interview on red carpet ) She will continue to be… I had just read on http://www. celebritybitchy.com that girlfriend Bar is out of the country on a magazine shoot, and they are far behind schedule. Being the kind of person he is, Leo probably told her to stay there. The same site said they were to meet up this week-end, and talked every day, several times. Lets don’t jump to conclusions. They make a cute couple.
There is no way they could know that victoria…. Plus, the site you mentioned ,celebritybitchy, posted something the other day saying they had no clue if they were together or not. My point is online you can say whatever you want as fact. Same goes for that gawker site. They posted a sighting for Leo not too long ago and it was proven to be unture. (I am not saying he wasn’t there, but as victoria just said, let’s all not jump to conclusions. )
I checked out the site and I couldn`t find anything that Victoria mentioned. You see, nobody knows for sure whether they broke up or not but most people here hope they did.

it’s weird, but I was crying uncontrollably last night for no reason. I couldn’t understand why I felt so sad and depressed. Now I think that it may have been because I felt something bad had happened. I think I somehow had a premontion of Leo’s grandma’s passing. Sometimes these weird things happen to me and it’s only afterwards that they begin to make sense to me. Anyway, I am just praying for Leo and his mom. I can feel their pain, and I wish I could help somehow. But for now our prayers is all that we can offer. Lots of love and angel blessings for Leo and his Mom and entire family. I love you always.

um, since when do you have to know someone to feel sad for them.?? I think ,maybe your upset because I’m actually sad that Leo and his mother lost someone important to them. Just like I would feel sorry if some other famous person I liked or respected, lost someone dear to them, I’d feel bad too… what’s wrong with that? oh I know, I forgot that it’s more important to know whether or not he is still dating Bar Rafeali…that is actually more important than the fact that he lost someone important to him… my mistake i guess … . 93 years old or not she is still a human being, and she still deserves respect …
