Brad Pitt is Officially an Inglorious Bastard
Brad Pitt has officially signed onto Quentin Tarantino’s World War II action-drama Inglorious Bastards, sources have confirmed.
The 44-year-old actor will play a Southern rebel who assembles a team of eight prisoners-turned-soldiers to battle the Nazis.
Production for the film is set to begin on Oct. 13 in Germany. Tarantino, who wrote the script, is aiming to complete the film and have it ready for next year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Simon Pegg, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak are also in talks to join the project.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Brad as an Inglorious Bastard?

I just bought the new People. What a beautiful family! Angie looks so young in the photos, almost like a kid, IMHO. I didn’t think she looked tired at all. All the kids are so dammn cute and growing up so fast. Brad looks genuinely happy and relaxed. Love them.
Hello to all the fans, I haven’t stopped by in a while. Hope everyone is well.

I just love Brad and Angelina. I watched Departed last night and boy was it good with Leo,Matt D., Mark W., Jack N. and Martin Sheen. It was very intense. At the end it said Brad Pitt and some other guy directed it ,something I didn’t know. wow
After dumping that clinging , insecure , narcissistic X, And with the suppor t of his new partner, Angie and the stability of a family. Brad ’s gaining more confidence and wiser in choosing roles. his career are really getting to another new height. Go Brad and Angie !

I am looking forward to seeing Changeling also. AJ is one of my favorite actresses. BP and AJ make a dynamic duo with their 6 adorable children. Entire article at link.
Another fall film getting a lot of Oscar buzz is Changeling, which is directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich, said Leland. He said it also won praise at Cannes.
It is the story of a mother’s prayer, for her kidnapped son to return, being answered. But it does not take long for her to suspect the boy who came back is not her son.

Jonathan Demme to chair Jury of San Sebastian Film Festival
Right to Return: New Home Movies from the Lower Ninth Ward is Demme’s ongoing documentary project. He felt driven to see and document the recovery effort (or lack of one) in New Orleans. His first visit was in the fall of 2005, and Demme has been returning to track the journey of the community and individuals in the Lower Ninth Ward on seasonal visits ever since. PBS’ “The Tavis Smiley Show” dedicated a week of programming to excerpts of Right to Return. Later, a compilation of material became the feature length documentary, Right to Return: New Home Movies from the Lower Ninth Ward, which premiered at the Silverdocs Festival in June 2007.

Making it Right building homes.
The spirit of New Orleans endures
By Michael Beadle
On one side of the Industrial Canal — the levee protecting the Lower Ninth Ward (lower because it’s on lower ground in relation to the water level) has been rebuilt to withstand a Category 5 hurricane — that’s a 13-foot high wall. However, on the side protecting the Upper Ninth Ward, the new levee is only 10 feet tall, able to sustain a Category 3 hurricane. Meanwhile, FEMA trailers — nicknamed “toxic tin cans” for their high levels of cancer-causing formaldehyde — are all that some residents had over the past two or three years since their homes were destroyed.
On a bus tour through the Ninth Ward districts, I saw these ubiquitous trailers as well as various construction teams hard at work building new homes. Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation is set up in the Lower Ninth Ward, where the flooding was as high as 13 feet and much of the neighborhood is overgrown grassland.
One house at a time, one business at a time, one party at a time, the city of Satchmo and Saints, dirty rice and hot sauce, voodoo and gris-gris somehow finds a way to endure.

China, US, UN and 186 Other Nations Ask for Ceasefire. But - Does Anyone Care?
Ceasefires are no strangers to the Olympic Games. They have been part of Olympiads since Ancient Greece and are a fundamental of the modern day Olympics’ mission. In the last two decades, the banner of the Olympic Truce has been picked up virtually every year by the International Olympic Committee, the United Nations, and/or its member states.
So last fall when China sponsored UN Resolution G/A 62/L.2 it was hardly breaking new ground. 186 nations, including Sudan, home of war-ravaged Darfur, Iraq, Iran and Pakistan, co-sponsored the resolution “to promote peace, dialogue and reconciliation in areas of conflict during and beyond the Olympic Games period.” A similar resolution was passed last week by the US Senate {Senate Resolution 632}.
But — has anyone heard of this so-called ceasefire? “Outside of the activist community, we’ve heard nothing about anyone implementing the truce,” says Hunter Payne, who founded Aid Still Required AidStillRequired.org) with his wife Andrea. “Frankly, I don’t get it. Are resolutions like these just publicity stunts? I hope not. But what are we to think when the international community comes together in a resolution for an Olympic ceasefire and then none of them put it into effect?”
In addition to the UN and the US Senate, the call for help in regions like Darfur has been coming from celebrated people from all sectors, including President Bush, the leaders of the UK, France, Germany, Barack Obama, John McCain, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Steve Nash, Donovan McNabb, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Mia Farrow, Matt Damon, George Clooney, and over 100 Olympians.
Today, in an obvious statement, the US Olympic Team voted Lopez Lomong as its flagbearer. Lomong is one of the “Lost Boys from Sudan” and a strong Darfur activist.
“How much agreement do we need to get something implemented?” asks Payne, whose charity has produced several public service announcements from NBA stars in support of the people of Darfur. “The international community is on board. China’s on board. Sudan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Congo, Zimbabwe, dignitaries, athletes, actors, musicians, citizens around the globe are on board. A truce which everybody supports is by definition a win-win - for everyone. It’s ‘One World, One Dream.’ It’s a no-brainer.

Darfur “Lost Boy” to carry US flag at Olympic ceremony
Wed Aug 6, 9:26 PM ET
Lopez Lomong, one of the “Lost Boys” of Sudan who was a victim of violence in Darfur, was named Thursday as the United States flag bearer for the opening ceremony at the Beijing Olympics.
US captains in every Olympic sport met at the Olympic Village and voted to award the honor for Friday’s ceremony to Lomong, a sensitive choice given criticism of Chinese foreign policy over the conflict in Darfur.
“This is the most exciting day ever in my life,” Lomong said. “It’s a great honor for me that my teammates chose to vote for me.
“The opening ceremony is the best day and the best moment of Olympic life. I’m here as an ambassador of my country and I will do everything I can to represent my country well.”
Lomong, 23, was kidnapped from his family by the Janjaweed militia and taken hostage. He and other youths escaped and spent three days on the run before crossing the border into Kenya and being taken to a refugee camp.
He spent years there just fighting to survive and famously paid five Kenyan shillings to watch a black and white television telecast of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
He said seeing US track star Michael Johnson win gold sparked his dream of becoming an Olympian.
Lomong was adopted by a US foster family, changed his citizenship to American and will race in the 1,500 meters at Beijing.
China has close ties with Sudan, as one of the main buyers of the African nation’s oil and a key investor in its economy, and rights groups have accused Beijing of not doing enough to try and resolve the conflict in Darfur.
The United Nations has said that 300,000 people have died in Darfur and that more than 2.2 million have been displaced since 2003. The Sudanese government puts the number of fatalities at 10,000.

Good morning all. Have a great TGIF. BP and AJ have a lovely family and I think causal and playfulness are part of their every day lives. They are the most studied celebrity family. I think people are in awe and little bit resentful of BP and AJ coming together and forming such a dynamic family. However, BP and AJ continue to live their lives, raise their children and be of help to others. I wish them all the best. Thanks for all the updates Just Jared. Peace and better days for all.
wow I just realized I was the first to post on this thread and I did not state, FIRST. I’m number 1. Peace to all.
That USA Today article is laughable. Why is it so hard for these hardazz types to just simply believe this family is genuine? Why is that so hard to comprehend? Do they truly think these pictures were that contrived and that a team of stylists really orchestrated the whole thing? Sat around and chipped off Shiloh’s nail polish and partially rubbed off Pax’s tattoos for authenticity? PUH-LEEZE!
Its absolutely maddening AND hilarious that anybody would go all around their elbow to get to their backside just to come up with a convoluted theory like that…
Hey, Bragman, consider this the hint of the century, maybe this photoshoot looks so real and spontaneous, because……it is.
