Brad Pitt is Officially an Inglorious Bastard

Brad Pitt has officially signed onto Quentin Tarantino’s World War II action-drama Inglorious Bastards, sources have confirmed.

The 44-year-old actor will play a Southern rebel who assembles a team of eight prisoners-turned-soldiers to battle the Nazis.

Production for the film is set to begin on Oct. 13 in Germany. Tarantino, who wrote the script, is aiming to complete the film and have it ready for next year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Simon Pegg, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak are also in talks to join the project.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Brad as an Inglorious Bastard?

I see they’re still on house #84 of 150. What the hell ever happened to that American Idol Gives Back donation? I thought they took in $60MIL during their show 6 months ago. When do they give out the money? Six months seems like an awful long time to have not given the money to the people they promised it to.

That USA Today article is laughable. Why is it so hard for these hardazz types to just simply believe this family is genuine? Why is that so hard to comprehend? Do they truly think these pictures were that contrived and that a team of stylists really orchestrated the whole thing? Sat around and chipped off Shiloh’s nail polish and partially rubbed off Pax’s tattoos for authenticity? PUH-LEEZE!

Its absolutely maddening AND hilarious that anybody would go all around their elbow to get to their backside just to come up with a convoluted theory like that…

Hey, Bragman, consider this the hint of the century, maybe this photoshoot looks so real and spontaneous, because……it is.

++++++++++++++++++++

LOL, Dragonfly, ITA. What I found comical was the assertion that there was a stylist there. Uh, no, doofus. Unless this is the first time he’s ever paid attention to photos of the Jolie-Pitt children…he’d know that this is how they dress ALL THE TIME. Angie has ALWAYS been into monochromatic colors - black and white. Aren’t people always complaining that she wears too much black, not enough color? What did the people at the Bonpoint store say Angie bought for the twins? A ton of white clothes - “White, white, white.”

Question does anyone know how many kids and the sex of Brad’s sister and brother? Wondering what is the total count of grandkids for Grammy and Papa?
I thought during the Christmas holiday the total at that time was 11?

At that time Brad and Angelina had 4.
Doug 3 and Julie 3
Don’t know where the number 11 came from

As shown, the similarities are too striking to be ignored — the specifics speak for themselves. BLACK BOOK was released in 2006, a full two years before QT’s IB script hit the market, and though he’s become fond of saying that he’s had the script in mind for over a decade, it’s perfectly clear that the bulk of it was written after seeing Verhoeven’s exceptional film.

I really hope someone somewhere someday calls him on this.

++++++++++++++++++++

Since you didn’t provide a link I have no idea where this synopsis came from…but…why doesn’t this person simply create a stink himself? Obviously he’s fully aware that the studio (Universal) must be aware that QT “borrowed” heavily from Verhoven’s movie. Seems to me like the thing to do would be for Verhoeven himself to sue Tarantino or demand a storyline credit and financial compensation for stealing his ideas.

If a scandal breaks, it’s solely on the shoulders of Tarantino and the Weinsteins. They’ve been producers for a long time; they know what to do. Brad, on the other hand, signed on as an actor, not a fellow producer. It is neither his or the other principal actors’ job to check whether this film is a derivative or straight-up copy of another film.

Go Bradley! Looking forward to seeing all your coming movies. :-D

Hello magazine’s Jolie-Pitt pictorial shows Angelina Jolie wearing an Eileen West “La Stella” sleepwear gown. The celebrated women’s sleepwear brand is known for quality and comfort. When the photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twin babies hit the Internet on August 3rd, fashion designer Eileen West was surprised and delighted to see Angelina donning one of her nightgowns.“I was absolutely thrilled to see Angelina Jolie wearing our “La Stella” gown for her photo debut with the twins. In many ways, Angelina embodies the spirit and style of Eileen West sleepwear; she’s a natural beauty, a mother, a woman on the go who maintains a sense of grace. Truly, we feel quite honored by her choice to wear the La Stella gown. Best wishes to the Jolie-Pitt family!” commented Eileen West.Eileen West sleepwear is celebrated for an attention to detail, quality and comfort. This gown in particular is made from a breezy, lightweight cotton rich fabric, its delicate heirloom lace originally inspired by a Victorian bodice from Eileen’s personal collection of antique finds. The long center placket, stitched with akoya shell buttons, is conveniently designed for nursing mothers. Romantic and classic, Eileen West intimate apparel is a true celebration of femininity.Consumers interested in receiving additional information on the Eileen West sleepwear collection or the “La Stella” gown are encouraged to send their name and postal address to Eileen West at: askus@eileenwest.com . While QT’s always been known to borrow, this edges on outright plagiarism.
***************************************************************

Plagiarism in films is nothing new; the movies are full of it. Take a look at “The Magnificent Seven” sometime, which is a blatant rip-off of Akira Kurosawa’s “The Seven Samurai”. Kurosawa’s film is a bajillion times better than Mag 7. There was another western (I forget the name) that was also a bad rip-off of Kurosawa’s film “Rashomon”. And that Bridget Fonda movie “Point of No Return” that was a crummy rip-off of “La Femme Nikita”.

American directors are always plagiarizing foreign films and the copycats are never as good as the originals.

+++++++++++++++++++++

The obvioius difference here is that the original source material was CREDITED with films like the Magnficent Seven…and even The Departed. Tarantino has been passing this off as an original script idea that a nod to movies of the past…not an outright plagiarism of them. Tarantino has long had a history of borrowing liberally from other movies, but if this info is accurate he’s done more than borrow concepts - he’s outright stolen whole segments of the script WITHOUT FREELY ADMITTING TO HAVING DONE SO. That’s what makes it plagiarism. He’s passing it off as his own ideas when it apparently isn’t. Frankly I’m not exactly shocked to read this. QT’s been headed in this direction for a while now. He’s one of those people who’s forever trying to take a shortcut to greatness. Spike Lee’s another guy like that. Only his MO is to criticize other director’s work and sniff, “I wouldn’t do it that way/how come there aren’t any black people in the movie?” Ego’s a b#tch.

piper, with a low @ 08/08/2008 at 4:28 pm

Good logic, Piper, but try explaining anything to a hater. Their stupidity positively makes me gag at times.

Brad signed on to act in the movie. Neither her nor any of the other actors are responsible for the script. And if Verhoeven has a problem with it, all he has to do is sue Tarantino and the Weinsteins — which, so far, he hasn’t.

John Edwards Admits to Having an Affair

Former campaign aide Andrew Young has claimed paternity of the child.

+++++++++++++++++++

ROTFLMAO. Uh…I think they should clarify that this is NOT former mayor of Atlanta/Clinton cabinet member Andrew Young - who’d be about 70 now…

As for the affair - sheesh. I think it’s safe to assume that EVERY male politiican out there has dipped his married peen in vajayjays it shouldn’t be in. Still, I’m sure the folks at the NE will be happy to be proven right.

I’m thinking this pretty much blows Edwards’ chances at the VP nom in a few weeks. Which is fine with me because he’s boring. I’m surprised NE has spent as much time and money on the story as they have.

Are you talking about Z’s top in the photo with Brad? Cuz it looks peach colored to me, not pink. Maybe it looks pinker in the Hello mag, but I haven’t found a copy of it yet.

Here’s another reason that USA Today story was stupid - Z’s got her blankie in that group photo…and it’s DIRTY! LOL! I don’t think she lets them take it away long enough to launder it…

BTW - I’ve been trying to ingore the trolls comments about the pix…but did we have another Z HairGate after the pix came out? Cuz her little curly fro is just as cute as can be!

If Tarantino stole whole sections of the script without giving credit for where he lifted them from, then Verhoeven can and should sue his ass off. I just don’t want to see the haters using this as an excuse to start ripping Brad Pitt apart. Neither he nor the other actors are responsible for Tarantino’s actions.

Exactly. Also, with as much hype as there’s been about this script for the last month - how come someone is just now noticing these similarities? I’m sure the guy at Dead Central isn’t the only one in the movie community to have seen the Verhoeven movie. I’ve read a lot of the stories about putting together the funding, distribution and cast for IB, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone mention the connection to Vehoeven’s movie.

Its the colour of Z’s blanket.Jesus

trying to refresh

Y’all are so gullible.

here’s something else I found.

Given Jolie’s impulsive, effusive nature (witness the sudden end of her very public marriage to Thornton), there is no way of knowing yet whether the new Angelina is the next Audrey Hepburn, who quit acting and dedicated her life to Unicef, or if she’s a modern-day Jane Fonda, with a propensity for passionate self-reinvention. The fact that she tells me she actually hopes “my life is drastically different every two years” would seem to suggest that this is only the beginning.

In London, I had asked Jolie where she saw her future going. “I’m not sure I’ll be an actress in ten years, but I’m sure I’ll still be working with UNHCR.” Now, sitting in front of me looking—how did Mark Canton put it?—insanely feminine, she says, “I would love in three years to have a shaved head, 30 tattoos, a plane, and seven children.” She laughs. “I’d be happy. And three lovers. I’d be thrilled. That’s what I’m working on.”
++++++++++++++++++++

One more kid and she’s outta there. she’s been working on it…”thanks for the kids. bye bye.”

When are you and your tired ass ‘Friends’ gonna give it up?
Don’t you know by now that there is no interview or article that’s
she’s done that haven’t been read a hundred times now? Especially with the level of sophistication here at this blog. What’s she said in the past is no big deal, in fact, it’s ‘Classic Angelina’. She always has been and always will be a wild card, unpredictable. It’s you and your group of bozos that can’t deal with her as she is.
