Suri Cruise Loves Playing At The Park
Katie Holmes plays with her daughter Suri Cruise as they enjoy a beautiful afternoon at the park in New York City on Thursday.
It seems it’s become a habit for Suri to smile and have a good time when her mom pushes her on the swings while they’re at the park.
Meanwhile, Katie, 29, has consistently been sporting rolled-up jeans on her way to rehearsals.

these pictures are painful, so tense and fake, kh is this just to sell tickets? please stop, just act, if you can, and the tickets will sell on their own. yes, Suri is in a lovely designer dress, but everything else is not right, give the public a rest atleast for a day or two.

I think kh needs a new BF, a good lay, please find a way to sneak off, Patrick would be the best catch or the cop who was standing next to you last night, maybe that would help you tone it down and chill. You look so stressed out and forced, is this what you came to NY for? If you are happy and smile for a change maybe that would help Suri’s mood too, she looks soooooo sad. Good you go on the swing with her but you look like you are dying.
Even a popsicle doesn’t get this child to smile. And can’t they put some play clothes on the child? Katie wears the same jeans day after day..and still they have to have Suri all pimped out/ She’s a cute child but they really should stop making a fashion plate out of her and let her be a child…who could really play in a dress like that? Or maybe playing isnt the point/…. perhaps it is only a photo op. If so, that is quite sad.

The whole scenario is just wrong. Unhappy child who should be in playclothes but is, instead in a fancy dress, ever present bottle, dull eyed, distant mother wearing the same jeans she’s been in for days. Somebody help that poor kid. She’s growing up with wacko’s for parents.
I’m started to get the distinct impression that these two barely know each other. I see absolutely no mother bond between these two. None. Suri can’t even look at her.
I don’t know what has happened to Suri, but she does not appear to be the same spunky, smiley little girl she was just a year ago. Lately in all the pics, she seems to be a bit dazed. And the writing for this article is laughable….

But Im not complaining and I thank you.
I know everyone keeps getting mad when this is said but I really do think there is a strong possibility that Suri has autism. My neice is autistic and she was a smiley happy girl until around 18 months (after her MMR vaccination but not getting into that debate here) when she became just like we see Suri in all the pictures. She does not react to anything, she is not interacting with people, she’s developed sensory issues (covering her ears for loud noise), and she never smiles. She appears to have regressed around the normal age for the development of autism. This is not an insult to her as people seem to think it is. I have nothing against autistic children, like I said my niece is one of them. Suri is an absolutely beautiful child and I think it is so sad that they will not get her the help she needs because of their religious beliefs. My niece didn’t talk until 4.5 years old but now she is doing so well and that is definitely related to the fact that she had early speech and occupational therapy. In regards to Katie she is not smiling or interacting with Suri at all. My youngest child is 3 months older than Suri and if you were to see us at a park we’d be laughing and playing. Something is really off with that woman.

It is devastating that the child isn’t smiling and giggling over swinging with her mother or treats. It isn’t suprising though. Look how Katie interacts with her. She isn’t smiling either. If Katie doesn’t appear to be having fun with her daughter, Suri will take cues from her and they’ll both look miserable just as they both do. I think they are both miserable. Katie needs to wake up and save that child. Neither of them appear to be having what would be accepted as normal healthy reactions to their activities or one another.
And…Tom, I am not speaking psych. I am not a scientilobot, but modern psych does have issues. There are problems when we give so many of our children narcotics (Ritalin=cocaine effect) However, these two look completely unhappy. The answer isn’t drugging them, but it certainly isn’t scientology either.

I find this the saddest thing i saw in a long time!

Suri used to be much more alert a year ago. And i don’t think it has anything to do with the paparazzi. She doesn’t seem to even be aware of them…actually, she doesn’t seem to be aware of much of anything, not even her mother. Maybe this is just a phase but..I worry about that little one.

I can understand that these pics are interesting… i just seriously sometimes dont understand how some of you can talk about Suri the way that you do… I get your interested thats okay and like myself interested in the pictures… i have been coming on this site for a half a year I have never posted any comment …if I did I would never assume anything! I dont have the right! I am not trying to judge anyone I just think that it is pretty sad that I felt the need to take the time to write this it is exhausting… I will never in my life meet Katie or Tom nor will I ever be bored enough in my entire lifetime to try…why doesnt the public start writing freak stuff about the freak papz? I agree that some of these actors should focus on being just an artist but these photographers are crazy and make it hard for those who are working

I think it is because she knows the paps are around. Sadly, Suri may have problems and katie doesn’t want it to seem obvious. I have noticed Tom trying to get a reaction from Suri,..and nothing. This is all fairly recently..Last year she was very aware and smiling. I think Poor katie doesnt want anyone to notice that Suri isnt responding to her so that is why she isnt trying.

It’s a middle of summer. It’s so bloody hot in NY, but Katie recently wears only long sleeved blouses, and long pants. And the sunglasses, they seem to be glued to her nose, even at night. Regarding Suri’s propensity towards dresses. You know you all she may just want to be in a dress. My two and a half year old granddaughter wants to dress in only dresses. I’m sure in another few weeks she’ll be onto something else. She is in a princess phase. Maybe Suri is too. Except without the smiles.

It’s cruel and stupid to compare one child to another. They have totally different temperaments. Violet is outgoing and bubbly and Suri isn’t. There’s nothing wrong with that.
What does concern me about Suri is that she appears to be unresponsive. A lot of people used to say Zahara Jolie-Pitt never smiled when she was Suri’s age, but you could tell Z was at least reacting — although negatively — to all the paparazzi. She was scowling at them, as if to say “Get those cameras the hell outa my face!” But Z is a totally responsive, vibrant youngster. Suri, OTOH, seems to have this vacant expression all the time. There is something missing in that child.
I dont’ see Suri smiling. I am sure no one else does either.

the comments I keep reading - Suri hardly smiles at all / Katie gets increasingly tense and unhappy looking - I have to agree!! suri is a cute little girl as most are at that age, but hey! she certainly does not appear happy or carefree as she should at her age. And where are her playmates?? Suri seems very ALONE. AND, yeh - what is she dressed up for a party all the time for??
It does make me think the Scientology thingy is having a BIG say in what goes on here . . . .
Katie Holmes has lost her natural warmth also; seems like she is unhappy to me unless posing or with her acting colleagues.

I don’t know, but like most of their pictures, this play-in-the-park things looks pretty staged. The kid was never dressed to play in the park….just a few minutes of swing that’s it.

Katie Holmes is just plain ANNOYING. All her body language is constipated — like she is trying so hard. Something is really wrong about her. She totally turned into a silly looking person, stylish yes, but somehow, she appears so silly and ridiculous.

It’s not Suri’s fault; that joyless-ness in her face is the result of her parents spoiling her. She used to look happy and now looks surly. This is what happens when parents can’t say no. The kid needs boundaries and if you don’t set them, it’s too overwhelming for them to be in charge and they get really really cranky. I’ve watched this develop and it’s sad. Suri needs to be told “no” to the bottle and to the diapers. They mean well but are putting her in charge of herself and no toddler can handle that.
As a mom of a child with autism, I have been watching Suri with concern for the past couple months. When she was younger she smiled and waved, she pointed.
Now, I see a child who doesnt seem to enjoy the world around here, even when her mom is trying to engage her. Even when the paps are far away w/ their cameras, I dont see her enjoying herself.
If I was Katie, I would be getting her evaluated.
It isnt a sign of bad parenting, if she wants to have her daughter look pretty who cares, I would if I had a girl.
And wanting to bring her child out into the world instead of held up in a hotel - nada wrong w/ that either.
autism isnt bad parenting - its a neurological disorder that effects one in 150 kids.
I hope Im wrong……but I know the signs.
I wasn’t a Katie or TCruise fan until they had that kid. I’m still not a Katie or TC fan, but I just can’t stop looking at pictures of that f’n adorable kid. I would, however, love to see more pictures of her like a real two year old….crying, throwing a tantrum, misbehaving….and Katie looking more frustrated with her.
On another note though-I do wonder why she always wears dresses and not play clothes, why they let her go barefoot like at the park (where she could step on something dangerous), why Katie is the one usually holding her when the three are photographed together, why Katie is always wearing a coat or sweater and Suri is sleeveless, why she always has that bottle, why her finger is always in her mouth or touching it, and last….why when she was one year old she smiled much more than now.
all i can say, is i love how she is experimenting with her style.
i am sure those baggy jeans are a lot more comfortable for katie holmes as she plays at the park with suri.
