OlderMiley Cyrus: Breaking Up With Nick Jonas Was Hard
Miley Cyrus finally opens up about her break up with Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers in the September 2008 issue of Seventeen magazine.
Despite her success as a Disney superstar, she’s still a normal girl learning from her mistakes. Miley dishes on the extreme lengths she went to heal from her heartbreak, the price of being a role model and her recent Vanity Fair photo controversy.
“[Nick and I] became boyfriend and girlfriend the day we met,” he 15-year-old Hannah Montana star shared. “He was on a quest to meet me, and he was like, ‘I think you’re beautiful and I really like you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I like you so much.’ Nick and I loved each other. We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn’t fun.”
When asked how she dealt with her break-up from Nick, Miley said, “At first I bawled for a month straight. I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black. When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights – and so I did that, and I got myself looking great. And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, I want to make my hair black now – I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core. I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, I’ve got to be by myself for now, and just figure out who I really am.”

She sounds REALLY conceited in this entire paragraph.^ They dated for TWO YEARS? Yea, I find that REALLY hard to believe. Sorry, Miles. I’m sorry, but this makes me laugh. Especially since Nick has clearly already moved on so much and she is STILL talking about him ALL THE TIME. Like, seriously. I think it’s a publicity thing.

Wow that’s really sad! I can’t even imagine how hard it would be to keep a relationship like that so under wraps…I wouldn’t be able to do that with my bf, and we’ve been dating for two years. It’s hard to go through that serious of a break-up at such a young age, I think it’s good that she’s coming out and admitting that she had a relationship with him; otherwise, it just leaves people guessing and speculating even more.
I am so happy that she opened up about her mistakes and her relationship problems. Everyone makes serious mistakes. And we’ve all done something worse in our past. I know exactly what Miley went through. I’m going through it right now. It’s been a couple months since my break up with my ex which ended badly. He and I fought alot too. He betrayed me so many times during our relationship. And he has a bad past. He’s still bad. Now, to top it, I discover he’s got a new girlfriend… and even his boss wants to meet her. I’m hurt. But logically I know I do NOT want to have a future with this f*** up. In fact, I feel sorry for the woman he’s with now. She must not think too highly of herself to be with such a loser. I know I didn’t, but I feel in love with him before I knew the sordid details of screwed up past. Little does she know about him and if she does, well then good luck. Only thing I can do is try to completely ignore anything that has to do with him. With no support system in a fairly new place that I’m living in… far far away from family… I think it’s best i move out of this place and into a better one. Too many bad reminders in the place that i’m staying at now. Hopefully, I will find my prince charming. Otherwise, I’ll just stay single and independent. I could just put myself out there and easily find any man i want. But I don’t think serial dating is the answer. I need to concentrate on my life. Growing up, I couldn’t wait to live the single life and become independent living on my own. But it gets tough emotionally. You gotta do alot of things on your own, which use to be simple, but seem harder now at times. I miss him, but God knows I don’t wanna future with him. Roberty Downey Jr was right when he said that if you can remember the bad parts of the past, you won’t wanna repeat the mistakes. Or in his actual words, “I’m such a work in progress at the moment, it’s crazy, and life wants me on edge, I swear to you. But as long as I don’t forget the past, I’m cool. One must always be mindful, just like you might forget that old girlfriend who tried to slit your throat, but she’s really still hot. If you remember the stitches more than you remember the p*ssy, you’re going to be just fine.” LOL… I still laugh at that. But it’s so true.
