OlderSelena Gomez is Making the Band
Selena Gomez doesn’t want a solo career, but instead wants to start her own band that will have a pop/rock feel to it.
“I’m going to be in a band — no Selena Gomez stuff,” the 16-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place star told MTV News last week. “I’m not going to be a solo artist. I think that I don’t want my name attached to it.”
Selena added, “I basically want to make music that is fun and that parents and kids can jump around to and have a good time to. I will be singing, and I’m learning drums and playing electric guitar.”
Ms. Gomez even wants to take a backseat at times during live gigs. “I would like to try it and kind of switch it up,” she said. “When I do the tour and stuff, I would like to do maybe a section on the piano or on guitar or on drums.”

I hate how all of these Disney stars think that they can “rock”, I mean, let’s be honest, compare Miley Cyrus, or the Jonas Brothers to real rock bands like Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age, or the Black Keys. THOSE are rock bands, not bubblegum pop that “parents and kids” can listen to.
