Katie Holmes: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Katie Holmes takes her daughter Suri Cruise to see the Broadway show Mary Poppins in New York City on Saturday.

Suri
, 2, has been making the Broadway rounds, seeing The Little Mermaid last week!

With little Suri over 2 now, a lot of attention has been given to her constant use of her bottle. Extended bottle-feeding may lead to speech and dental problems according to pediatricians.

WHAT DO YOU THINK about Suri’s bottle’s business — still a baby or time to grow up?

WOMAN LISTEN, BROADWAY SHOWS ARE NOT FOR 2 YEARS OLD!!! HAVE SOME CONSIDERATION FOR THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE IN THE AUDIENCE…WHAT A MORON

Little Loca @ 08/10/2008 at 9:58 am

Actually Jill shows like Mary Poppins and the Little Mermaid are full of children. If she had taken her to see Grey Gardens then I would complain but not the Disney shows.

# 3

The bottle is their business. Leave them alone!

# 4

I agree - Broadway shows are not for 2 year olds.

Yes, she needs to get off the bottle - she is going to have seriously f’d up teeth.

I feel sorry for the kid - breaks my heart to see her covering her face like that. I wonder if she is told to do that by her mom or if she does it out of fear or discomfort. Either way, it is sad.

# 5

Suri is not old enough to even understand a little bit what she’s seeing.
Nuts family.

# 6

Noyb

I bet Tom and Katie think it’s cute that she covering her face.

WHAT DO YOU THINK about Suri’s bottle’s business — still a baby or time to grow up?!?

=================================================

i think that we should leave lil Suri alone, if she still wants to use the bottle that’s fine, it’s not like she’ll gonna use the bottle forever, let her be a kid, geeze. neway, lil Suri have the cutest dresses ever, she’s so cute.

# 8

I don’t understand why they always have Suri out sooo late. She looks exhausted. My daughter is 4 and has never been out past 8pm. Her bedtime is 7pm.

Between the bottle and the bedtime, they are really not doing right by this child.

If you want to go see the show, what is wrong with a maintee performance in the afternoon??

# 9

Their child = Their business

The bottle business should be left up to the parents who probably know Suri best.

ditch the bottle! she’s WAY too old for it. and still wearing diapers? they obviously still treat her like a baby…

@Melissa

The bedtime of your daughter is 7pm? Now that is just insane… How old is she, 1 month old? Seriously she’s 4, she shouldn’t be put to bed this early

I agree that 2 years old is too young to go to a Broadway Show even Mary Poppins. Have some respect for all the older ticket buyers that are sitting in the theatre.

There’s nothing wrong with Suri still drinking from a bottle or certainly nothing wrong with her still being in diapers. She’s still a baby. And that’s why she shouldn’t be at a Broadway Show!

Where’s Tom?

Someone posted on another board that she’d been at The Little Mermaid with her kids, sitting not far from Katie and Suri and Suri spent most of the time with her hands over her ears.

This kid looks either miserable or bored in every recent set of pictures. 1 set - I’d chalk that up to grumpiness, multiple sets a pattern is forming - and the kid clearly hates the commotion of the paparazzi which her mother drags her through rather than getting her security to slip her out a side entrance which they surely could.

Shameless.

the_boyfriend @ 08/10/2008 at 10:24 am

Stop using your child for publicity Katie, 2 is too young for BWay and too old for the bah bah.

Has she no common sense?

Errrr more importantly, the questions should be:

HOW MUCH IS THIS SITE BEING PAID TO POST DAILY USELESS PICS OF A HAS-BEEN CULT MEMBER ??

WHY ARE YOU GIVING SO MUCH USELESS PROMOTION TO SOMEONE WHO HAS ZERO CONSIDERATION TO THE ABUSES OF THE ORGANISATION SHE AND HER DELUDED HUSBAND PROMOTE ??

WAKE UP PEOPLE
OBVIOUS PAID PLACEMENTS = CULT MONEY

BOYCOTT THE CRUISES
BOYCOTT KULTIE ON BROADWAY
BOYCOTT ALL CULT SUPPORTERS
BOYCOTT THE CULT OF CRAZY

Why not read up on some factual information about this malicious cult that Kultie is part of. Check out the link and find out what she and Tom really believe in.

If they want their kid to have screwed up teeth and speech impedements, that’s their business, not ours,

Is this kid going on 3 years old - if not there already - and still sucking on a bottle?? Good grief!!!!

Is this kid going on 3 years old - if not there already - and still sucking on a bottle?? Good grief!!!!

She’s only 2 years old, most kids I know used a bottle until over three years old. People are making way too much deal about something it’s not their business. They accused Tom of trying to dictate how mothers should raise their kids and now they’re doing the same. It’s up to Tom and Katie to decide when Suri should stop using the bottle.

We should be discussing how rude and aggressive the paparazzi are with a kid. They’re almost attacking a little girl.

It is absolutely none of our business!

Seriously, what’s wrong with you people?
Katie has said Suri loves musical. According to Katie, she has seen Annie 60 times. If she does enjoy then, why can’t she attend one? Who says she doesn’t understand anything about it?
Get real! Who are you to say what Suri should wear, dring and see?

Hello!!! That’s NOT Tom Cruises child!! Put a picture of Suri and Katie’s ex fiance together Chris Klein…and WOW! You’ve just found Suri’s Dad.

Notice how Suri turns away from Tom when he’s holding her!! This guy is a controlling weirdo that has taken a sweet young woman and her child and turned them into a photo shoot to bring the attention to him. I think Katie is finally catching on.

Who are you to say what Suri should wear, drink and see?
Katie’s said Suri loves a musical and has seen Annie many times. If she enjoys these shows, why can’t she attend? These shows are full of kids, you idiots! Please, get real and start wondering about serious stuff.

What’s up with poor little Suri ALWAYS wearing the same shoes. Also, if Katie is so in to playing dress up with Suri why not paint her little fingernails. I think Suri would do great to get to hang out with some other toddlers, maybe go to a play place occasionally.

Katie SMARTEN UP!! Your child should be in bed like everyone elses. Not this crying and whining ,holding her ears, holding her hands over her eyes due to flash bulbs at night.
Yes Suri is adorable but there is a place and a time. How many pics have we seen lately of Suri looking so unhappy just plain miserable. I am sure the other peope who paid good moolah to see an evening broadway show have their toddlers in bed and dont appreciate the whining. Obviously Suri being with you is all about YOU not unhappy Suri.

As far as the bottle being stuck in the childs mouth rather than a sippy cup , if it is to make Suri happy (shut her up) It is NOT working. Yes i know first hand what sucking on a bottle after 18 mos. can do to a chids gums and teeth, You could possibly save Suri from wearing braces if you switched her off the bottle now. .

JMO Take it or leave it.

Its none of anyone’s business what Tom and Katie do with their child.

Jared- you are starting to really annoy me.

All anyone does on these sites is criticize the celebrities. Not just Tom and Katie- the list goes on and on. They are actors, let them do their jobs and go about their daily lives without all the nitpicking.

Unbelievable how many critics are on here - Im sure if you were photographed every day of your life there would be plenty of criticisms from people who don’t know you.

Why are you people obsessing over how late Suri is being kept out..This child is going to inherit a fortune for Tom Cruise’s estate. She is growing up in Hollywood and not a some D-Lister’s celeb’s child.

By the time she is 5 she will know what and how a Broadway show operates behind the scene as well as how a movie studio runs…You people keep looking at her llife from you average citizen pov..

That’s the same as people expect ing those royal boys Harry and William to be like them..THEY ARE NOT. and the same applies to Suri.
All children who are exposed to more advance arts, sports, dance..will absorb and become proteges..
Look at Tiger Woods, The Williams Sisters….Drew Barrymore came from a legacy of great actors…

Why dress her up like a woman and give her an empty bottle to suck!??
Crazy!!
Suri is a silly girl !!!!!!!!!

truthfully @ 08/10/2008 at 10:56 am

Suri is so cute. How she is raised is nobodys business, but her parents.

So what if Suri is wearing the same shoes.. how many pairs of shoes should a 2 year old have before they outgrow them. Poor baby, always being chased by the paps -I would cling onto my bottle too if I was constantly hounded like that. It’s a source of comfort for a baby. Her mother should stop parading her around and try to give her as normal a childhood as possible.

She is not a good mother, she should be at home, calm, resting, playing, NOT out at night!
katie wants publicity!!!
she wants this to be shown to Tom!!!
Where is Tom!????
With all his $$$$$$, he should be by he side, not in LA flying his plane!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s long since time to move on to a sippy cup. The longer you wait to stop use of the bottle, the harder it is to do!

Mom of 3.

I would not be commenting on Katie’s handling of the child if Suri didn’t looks so darned miserable. I don’t care if she is up late, wants to ruin her teeth on a bottle, needs to drag her blankie all over NYC and the world etc., if she looked happy. That baby looks miserable. And if it is the flashes and the paps making her miserable, then maybe Katie should stay home and watch Mary Poppins on TV or find a more unobtrusive way to get in and out of that theater. And Katie is richer than most–get more body guards to protect that baby from the crowds, the shoves, the pushes etc.

All the Broadway shows have restrictions, and the age restrictions for both shows are 6 and above. Some theatres don’t even permit children under the age 4. Katie Holmes is not only a bad mother, but also a bad theatergoer. Her publicity stunts are going out of hand.

why is she always alone like a single mom? where the hell is tom cruise?

Their child = Their business

Who ever says the above is nuts! nobody should be able to do anything they want to there kids. If she was beating her up or he moleting her, then would you say its their business?

Mentally hurting your kids, bad parenting, bad food pattern or living pattern is also hurting your kids…

So no.. its not Their business.. someone should stand up and help this kid!

She really can’t have a bottle anymore! She’s almost 2 in a half. She really is going to have messed up teeth if Katie and Tom don’t take it away from her now. If they don’t take it away soon, they will regret it when Suri’s teeth are crooked!

Idk about dental problems but I know plenty of kids who were on the bottle until age four and they have no speech problems. And 7pm bedtime isn’t for everyone, I doubt she makes the kid get up at 6am.

Looks like someone had too much benadryl with their barley water.

mediterranean @ 08/10/2008 at 11:31 am

New nipples for bottles are made for the baby-teeth and they are not supposed to harm them.

If she likes to drink bottler, it’s her right and it’s up to her own parents.

I have seen a “4,5-year-old” kid who goes to maternalle with my daughter and is still having her bottle.

Most probably they are giving her a special misture of their funny relation.

#37 you ask where tom is?

Tom Cruise is not with her because he is a walking PR disaster.
He knows it and so does everyone else.
If he is seen walking in and out of the theatre with her - the media will accuse him of paying for her to be in the production and start talking about xenu and the cult.

I mean for goodness sake how much money has he spent on these useless ads promoting himself and his pathetic website?
His self promotion knows no end.
Can you buy back your dignity with banner ads?

By the look of things Katie realises that suri = photo opps
She and her daughter appear miserable in every shot.
How many tickets is she ‘responsible’ for selling?

No more Katie. No more Tom.

Where is her PR people. Tell her the more the public see her the less they will want to.

Instead of everyone bashing how zillionaire parents are raising their designer-clad little girl, how about putting that same energy into investigating and supporting ‘ordinary’ kids who are abandoned, beaten, raised really miserable and hungry in orphanages etc. Everyone’s surplus ‘criticism’ chips would then really have a purpose…

From the Disney on Broadway Mary Poppins website:
“AGE RECOMMENDATION

Disney on Broadway performances are recommended for a general audience. As an advisory to adults who might bring young people, Disney recommends its productions for ages 6 and up. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Mary Poppins runs approximately two hours and forty-five minutes, with a fifteen-minute intermission.”

********************
But to you fangirls, I guess Suri’s such a *Hollywood/ Broadway* “protege” that age recommendations don’t apply to her. Only to proletariat civilians and not to someone as super special as her and her family.

*************************
To the poster above who claimed Suri had seen “Annie” 60 times - according to Katie, that was the video - not the live show. Tons of kids can be plopped down in front of the TV and be content. It’s another thing entirely to sit in a packed theatre for a 2-hour live show.

You have no idea how people spend their time aside from the few minutes it takes to read this post.

Katie was always desperate for fame. Too bad she has resorted to this, but she really has nothing else going on. A minor role in a Broadway show wasn’t what she expected. Didn’t quite get the A list career of starring movie roles she was promised in marrying Tom Cruise, but who could have predicted he would go so far off the deep end the moment she hitched a ride to his star. Be careful what you wish for…

okay, i don’t have kids, but is it normal for kids to stay up past 8pm or even 7pm??? And it’s not like suri is going to remember these shows when she is older. Why doesn’t she go to like the afternoon shows. I guess they want her to become an actess…..

Leave Suri alone.

Where’s Tom Cruise?

i’m not going to comment on the bottle issue - i know of plenty of 2 years old still carrying theirs around

however, taking a 2 year old to the night time show is incredibily selfish and amazingly disrespectul to the other theatre goers..there’s a reason that broadway shows have matinees - much more of a suitable time to take a 2 year old

as an adult when I go to a night time show, especially one where the tickets are 100 bucks a pop, i have an expectation that any children present are old enough to be up that late

When mine were that age, they were in bed at 7:30 …

also, have you noticed that she’s always dressed a bit formally even when her parents are in jeans…and she rarely wears a sweater or coat when out in the evening - katie & tom will have long sleeves on & even sweaters and she’s there sleeveless - wierd…

Do you think Suri is going to fondly remember one of the song and dance numbers from the show, or the terrifying crush of strangers blinding her with flashing bulbs and screaming in her face? Hope that cute PR-friendly Mommy/Daughter photo opportunity was worth it, Kate…
The fact that a two year old might have enjoyed watching the Disney video in her pajamas cuddled in bed with mom that late at night isn’t really the point. We have Tom Cruise’s public image to fix and that is the priority here, folks!

groundcontrol @ 08/10/2008 at 11:55 am

The bottle is all about the dictates of Scientology. It’s not even about her parents’ choice - except that they are allowing a whack job like Ron L. to tell parents how to raise their children and live their lives.

There is nothing worse than parents bringing children where they do not belong. Even Mary Poppins is inappropriate for a 2 year old.

poor baby. she looks terrified or just really tired. suri’s a gorgeous baby though. dont really care much about the bottle…its none of our business, just leave it to katie and tom.

[☆I n F a m o u s☆] @ 08/10/2008 at 11:57 am

jq,

…. was it normal for your father to sexually abuse you?

You ladies why hard on Robo katie? While Jennifer Garner doing the same thing and using her daughter for PR and carrier advancement taking her out everday. It is hollywood some of you are not fair at all. Katie is at least younger. Be easy on her.

OMG, why are you so excited about Katie’s parenthood skills, Suri’s diapers & bottle and her being out so late? That’s her child and she can do whatever she wants. I don’t give a **** about them both.
Look at yourself and take care of your own children, then everyone will be happy.

Why you all hard on Katie? while Jennifer Garner takes her daughter out everday. Do you remember last year when JG doing broadway she was out everday with her daughter. Both of this actress are using their daughters for carrier advancement and PR. My point is you should be fair. Katie is not the only one.

She probably is still nursing the 2 yr old and wants to be discreet about it, so she gives her a bottle. Suri might be one of those who nurses tell she is 8. :-0

For real, WHO CARES? There’s thousands of kids dying of hunger and diseases in Africa each day and you care for 2 year old spoiled kid and her fcked up parents. Delusional. LOOK AROUND people!!

It is selfish for kate to be lugging Suri around that late at night….my son’s bedtime is at 8:00 and I like it that way since I’ve been playing and taking care of him during the day (on weekends) and I’m beat after a few hours and on weekdays, I have to wake him up at 6:00 am so I can drop him off at daycare and me go to work….I guess Suri has the luxury to sleep in and that is why she is up later…she does not look so happy to be out though. At least Jen G. and Violet seems like a happy pair and doing age-appropriate activities like going to art classes and stuff instead of a Broadway show…and you would never see Violet’s parents take her out late at night….I guess they have more common sense than tomkat

i say none of anyone’s freaking business whether she’s on the bottle or not! wait awhile. if she’s still on it at age 7, u can say something

damn can’t the paps give her some space? poor baby girl keeps hiding her face behind her hands because of the flashlights!!!

It’s their child, and I’m sure that they have been told about the problems the bottle can pose. Let them raise her the way they want. Just because they let her use a bottle at 2 doesn’t mean that they are abusive to her, if anything I would think that it shows a little over indulgence. As for Katie taking Suri to Broadway shows I think it’s nice to see parents (famous or not) trying to spend some quality time with their children, and I don’t think that Katie and Tom are using her for publicity as much as everyone else does, they are public figures and in the coarse of taking care of their daughter themselves she’s bound to become a public figure too.

Actually Jill shows like Mary Poppins and the Little Mermaid are full of children.
*********************************************************************

They may be full of children, but I doubt they are full of two year olds. Any child that is still on a bottle is too young to be taken to a Broadway show.

okay, i don’t have kids, but is it normal for kids to stay up past 8pm or even 7pm???
****************************************************************

A two year old should be in bed by 8 p.m. Any sane parent knows this. But we’re talking about Katie Holmes here.

I think all of these issues, being up past a bedtime, the bottle, etc. are all a result of their whacked-out beliefs in their ‘cult’. They are raising their child as if she’s an adult, without discipline or structure. They want her to be free and independent and decide on her own. I’m still puzzled by Holmes’ desire to be part of it, and give Kidman high praise for standing by HER principles and not giving in to Cruise’s brainwashing.

Well, I’ve raised 3, and I can honestly say, they do much better with structure, discipline, and real praise. They are cognitively too young at 2 to decide about bottles or whether they should stay up late. Parents need to make those decisions for them.

That being said, it does SEEM like his other two children are well-mannered and bright. But time will tell how they are emotionally and whether they can live with other people’s rules.

I do like Katie, and hope she’s happy.

god see this is why kids in hollywood go crazy because they’re always told their getting to old for something
I drank out of a bottle till i was almost 5 not all day but when i would go to bed cause it was comforting

give little suri a break!

GOD SHE ONLY JUST TURNED 2!

poor little Suri. such an angelic little face yet you have such a sad life.
I tihn it’s right to say something about how wrong Suri’s parents are. I mean look at Violet Affleck. She’s so happy in every picture she’s seen ni. All smiles and cute cute sweet. and Suri? same aged but so sad.

Breaks my heart to see such a young innocent kid with empty eyes and not a smile on her face at all times.

#67 you are aboslutely right about structure. Children thrive on structure in their lives. They need a set bed time, meal time, etc.

I think that people expressing concern for Suri are not being hateful.

OMG enough with bottle already. The kid is 2!

A few things:

1. I feel bad for Suri coz this is the 2nd time we see her starting to cover her face.

2. I don’t have any kids, so I can’t really comment on the bottle thing. I didn’t even realize it’s bad for the speech or teeth if left too long.

3. I love the theaters. But I do have to say I don’t particularly enjoy when kids cry or start talking in the middle of performance. So as long as Suri and other kids don’t do that, or the parents are considerate enough and start to remove the kids and themselves when the kids start acting up, I am fine.

buckeyegurl @ 08/10/2008 at 1:04 pm

I feel so sorry for that poor baby.

AGAIN, STUPID WOMAN CARRING HER LITTLE GIRL, BECAUSE HER AMBITIOUS TO BE POPULAR.
KATIE CAN YOU STOP TO ABUSE YOUR KID JUST BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE NOTHING TO BE FAMOUS.

THIS IS WOMAN LIKE A ESCAPED MENTALITY PATIENT, YOU ARE SO ASHAMED.

As a dentist, I can tell you that sucking on a bottle at this age can and often times DOES, damage the front teeth (bowing) and flatten the top palate which can cause a slurring speed impediment. The type of bottle that this child has is also specifically designed for infants. The nipple structure is a little longer so that infants can latch on easily and the fluid rushes straight to their throats so they don’t spit it out.

I advise all of my patients to have their children off the bottle and onto a sippy cup at 18 months to avoid dental damage.

Which is why she shouldn’t be out at an 8pm show that ends at almost 11.

Leave them alone. My daughter is a night owl and doesn’t have to get up early because we are home with her. We have great adventrues with her that all you people miss by putting your kids to bed before the sun even goes down. At least this family does things together. Other families go out and leave their kids to babysitters all the time. And about the bottle - all three of my kids had bottles well past what uptight mommies and so called experts approve. They still are cavitiy free at 22, 20 and 6!!!! And, all have straight teeth without having had braces. Do what you want with your family and let them do as they wish with theirs.

As much as I hate to admit it, I took a bottle to bed every night until I was 7!! Yikes. I hate to think about it :)

But anyway, no speech problems and I’ve always had flawless teeth with no cavities. (I’m 24 now.)

leave them alone..stop all this photogs madness. Both are adorable..

classy all out

Interesting, everytime I buy a ticket to a broadway show it is clearly stated that NO children under the age of 4 will be admitted whether they have a ticket or not.

I wanted to take my 3 year old niece to see The little Mermaid but was told she had to be 4, no exceptions.

So, regardless of the recommended age for a Disney’ show, the decisions of her parents, or how much attention she paid, Suri SHOULD NOT have been there as outlined in Broadways own rules.

That’s great for you, but it’s still not a good decision in general according to national associations of dentists and pediatricians.

what 2 year old can sit through a broadway show?

Suri is obviously terribly bothered by the loud noises and flashes of the papz and crowds, so why does Katie repeatedly subject her to the discomfort? Could it be… she’s a publicity hound and not at all above using her sensitive bottle sucking, diaper wearing child to get it?

The words that come to mind are… “child abuse’.

Makes ya wonder. She’s not even subtle about it. She has security with her but is repeatedly seen going through a throng of paparazzi rather than slipping out a side or back door, which trust me, she could do.

And before anyone trots out the “Oh, yeah, so-and-so calls the paparazzi!” bit. According to rumors, tons of celebs do. So that doesn’t really wash. The Cruises have a history of being particularly not-so-subtle with the photo ops though.

Its sad that people think they can have a say in a celebrity’s life, like their parenting skills, because they’re famous and get a look in their private lives.

Stop telling people how to raise their kids and shut up about that bottle.

tif, you’re right…it’s a battle for me to have my toddler to sit through a meal in restaurants and u really have to do a lot of entertaining to keep them from going wild…cant’ imagine a child sitting through a 2 1/2 hour production…just madness i tell yah

Oh, yes, because we all believe that these comments go directly to the Cruises. Get over it. It’s an internet gossip site. People make comments. Shocking, I know.

1.) Why on earth is Suri out so late? Look at her. She’s so tired. Oh—that’s right. Katie said on Letterman that Suri goes to sleep at 11pm. What is she thinking???

2.) A 2 yr old has a 15-20 min attention span for videos, shows, etc. After that, it’s a matter of just trying to keep them quiet for the rest of the audience.

3.) Give her a sippy cup for crying out loud. Let her grow up normal !!

Where are pictures of them “singing”?

If you take a look at pictures of Suri taken a year ago, she does not have her bottle as frequently as she does now. Also, she is not afraid of the people and cameras surrounding her.

Another lame attempt to call the family crazy by idiots like, #5. People show toddlers movies all the time and they don’t understand it. Why don’t you harass them?

Probably busy rehearsing in the afternoon, #8. It’s silly to compare parents. Just don’t bother. You’re no one to say that they’re not doing right by their child.

Can you even prove they use their child for publicity, #14? It doesn’t look like it. You just say she’s taking her out for PR…for no real reason at all.

You trust total strangers on the internet all the time or just the TomKat bashers?

She was very happy in those park pics awhile back. She just doesn’t like the paparazzi. Maybe there are fire safety issues or parking inabilities or something which explains the lack of side entrance.

Holmes is very protective of her daughter which is why she has many bodyguards already that are obviously doing their job because she’s not crowded by anyone, #34. If Holmes stuck her inside, you’d just say Holmes is still nuts for not giving her child fresh air and exercise.

Dead on, #45. These critics need to get lives.

They said RECOMMENDED, #46. Not REQUIRED. There’s a difference. TV is different from live theatre but I really don’t get why Suri Cruise can’t enjoy both mediums.

It has nothing to do with their religion, #67. It has to do with them doing whatever they feel like doing in terms of their parenting. I’m betting many parents are no different but we don’t hold them under microscope judging them so much.

No. They’re just being judgmental and ignorant, #71.

I think I’ll let the PARENTS decide what she ‘needs,’ #82. And she does have kids her own age to play with, #83. Like the Henchy kids and the Beckham kids.

The only alternative is locking her up inside, #91. Holmes is famous and will get chased by the paparazzi but she also needs to take her kid out once in a while. Maybe famous people shouldn’t be having kids at all?

All kids are different and people of any age can be unruly, #94.

Well, #96…

1) She’s thinking that as her parent she can give her whatever bedtime she has. (You’re acting like she gets less sleep than an average baby despite the 24 whole hours to spare)
2) Quit comparing kids. And we didn’t hear anything about an unruly Suri Cruise. And why bother reading babies stories or signing lullabys or showing them TV at all if that’s the case?
3) Shut up with that!

Actually, I’m starting to think people should lay off the bottle stuff. Suri has very few other sources of comfort.

And McLovin, you can yell and and scream at people to “shut up”, but you can’t stop them, so just give it up. It’s called “freedom of speech”, honey. People will continue criticize the way they raise their child so long as *they* continue to *choose* to be in the public eye. Suri is the *only one* who didn’t make that choice, therefore, people who care will continue to speak out on her behalf. IF you don’t like it, that’s your business, but your lame excuses for them get more desperate by the day.

If they wanted to keep her away from the paparazzi, they could do it, easily. Many huge celebrities move to places like Connecticut, upstate NY and Northern California and somehow manage to keep their children out of the limelight. Do you see Jerry Seinfeld’s three children being paraded around? Kelly Ripa’s? Jon Bon Jovi’s? And just to prove this isn’t about Scientology, how often do you see even see Ella Bleu Travolta? They’ve managed to hide Jett pretty well over the years, but I won’t even go there.

.she is very stupid woman indeed….poor suri,..suffers and mother do nothing…mercy

It looks like Suri has become traumatized by the paps, the bright flashes and probably the stupid questions they yell. That’s sad. What chance of a normal life can this child possibly have in the future as she will be hunted her entire life by aggressive paps. The money is just not worth it.

It depends on the child’s attention span. My grandson sat quietly at shows at SeaWorld and Disney World when he was 2. He loved it!!! He also was a bit late giving up his bottle and his TEETH ARE FINE and he SPEAKS WELL!! He is now 3 and no bottle but still enjoying shows and movies without talking during the shows.

My Brother Still Uses His Bottle At Night And He’s 5

why does she not let the little one walk. she treats her like a baby - she has legs let her use them. ok at night if she’s sleepy but every picture she is being carried. the poor thing covering her eyes and ears,-you’d think her mum would realise she gets upset with all the attention and keeps her away from it all
and please, ditch the bottle

What I’am concerned about,is the paps flash bulbs.Anyone can see
that hurts this dear little girl’s eyes! Why can’t Katie get a clue about that?

There are pictures about a year ago, where Suri waved at the paps.
Now there is just too much flash bulbs for her and she covers her face. I feel sorry for Suri, when this happens.

Little Suri is a baby this child is not 3yrs old yet and you silly f**k called her a silly girl. Leave the child alone and let her parents decide when to take her bottle and when to take her to a broadway play. You people make me sick and that one person that goes to all the threads spreading his hate about Tom Cruise is a nut case also. We all have known that Mr Cruise was a Scientology for a long time now and this nut is talking about Tom’s church like we just knew yesterday. I bet Tom Cruise will not attack other religions because he has been on that side himself before he was Scientology. This is a free country and it is not against the law. It called freedon to choose what ever religion you perfer in peace. Another thing you stupid people need to stop saying that Suri looks lik Katie X boyfriend..that kid looks nothing like that guy, that child look like Tom and Katie and thats facts, I know you wish. You need to stop saying Tom Cruise cant have babies. Nicole Kidman was married to him for Ten years and she said she had miscarriages, so either Tom could have babies or Nichole was a hoe.

Someone actually went through over 100 comments to personally respond to poster numbers with opinion rebuttals? LOL. Me thinks we take this a bit too seriously.

I agree however that maybe the poor little kid should be left her bottle. Judging by these sad pictures, it is one of her only sources of comfort while Mommy pimps her out to the press.

My Brother Still Uses His Bottle At Night And He’s 5
************************************************************
People can trot out examples all they want, whether it’s a grandson, nephew, or who saw Ferris at 31 Flavors. In general it’s good idea to wean children from bottles.

Have you folks ever heard of probability or likelihood? Saying Suri ought not stay on a bottle does not mean she’ll *definitely* develop problems; it means that it’s *more likely* that she’ll develop dental and speech problems. As a parent, why do something that will increase the odds that your child will have problems?

kristi williams @ 08/10/2008 at 5:37 pm

I think it’s wonderful that Suri is getting to experience these things! If her parents think this is the right thing to do, we shouldnt question it. Also, give these parents a break! I have 3 children-the 1st one was on the bottle for only a short period (her choice), the 2nd was on the bottle until about 4, the last until he started Kindergarten. I’m a stay-at-home mom, and if it’s not bothering ME, and it’s not affecting my children in a negative way, it’s no one elses business. Go Katie! :)

Leave this couple alone. Suri is the most beautiful child I have seen. Will she have the bottle in high school? Quit pretending that you care.

let your kid stay up past 7pm, for Christ sake! THATS crazy—NOT a 2 year old sucking a bottle, dumbass. your poor 4 year old probably still wears diapers, too, doesnt it?! Take that kid out and let it discover NIGHT TIME……its a beautiful thing, moron.

McLovin, please stop. Just … stop. Until JustJared puts you on the payroll, stop trying to moderate the comments section. Seriously, you need to get a life. Now.

As for Suri being on the bottle … I don’t think it’s healthy for her to be on it. I sucked a bottle until I was five and the only reason my parents took it away is because I was not allowed to go to kindergarten until I was weaned. I started sucking my thumb after that and royally messed up my teeth because of it. I didn’t get braces until I was 19 because my family couldn’t afford it and they had to break my top jaw to get it to align properly.

Take the baby OFF the bottle before it screws her up. It’s PAINFUL to get it corrected and I’d rather see the kid cry for the bottle now than cry from the pain of having extensive dental work to repair it.

I will bet you this kid is not crying and wigglie in the seat and standing up in the chairs, If so kathie would not be taking her. Mr Cruise might have other obligation that needs to be taken care of, just because you do not like him doesnt mean he is not still important in the movie world. You people dont know what you want Tom and katie to do. First you people said they were hiding Suri and that there must be something wrong with her mentally, Then you people say Tom Cruse was running Katie life and she was a prison in her own house, You people said he would not let her out of his sight and he was always with her, so now you are asking where is Tom Cruise. Now what is it going to be with you folks, you all need to stop player hating on these rich folk and stop being jealous because I know if I had their money I would be doing the same as they do and all you people would not be sitting at your computer talking about anybody, you would be on vacation some place. Another thing I would also sell my baby’s picture to a magazine if they asked, you better believe it and it does not have to be 14,000,000.00, I would do it for less and the majority of people would too and not give it to charity..

anonymouse @ 08/10/2008 at 6:00 pm

Lyn,

It’s clear you have no idea what you say, but ramble on.

Katie’s mom once said she didn’t know how to parent Katie. Well, it looks like the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

Katie’s in a jacket blazer and pants. Poor Suri. Why not at least dress her in some tights or give her a light sweater to sit through in the air conditioned theatre?? She’s just in a silk dress and a diaper. What about at least some bloomers to go over the diaper since she’s sitting in the germ-infested theatre seats? Gee whiz. Protect your daughter.

Suex Nomi @ 08/10/2008 at 6:27 pm

I see the clams are over the board here, obeying the orders to stick up for the massah’s wife.

GET A FRICKIN CLUE PEOPLE!

SOME THING IS VERY WRONG WITH THAT LITTLE GIRL!
And yet, here you all sit, sounding like a bunch of gay hairdressers peeing in your pants over this dog and pony show called robowife and their hostage, Suri.

remember da truth @ 08/10/2008 at 6:28 pm

With the bottle, they treat her like a baby; but then the rest of the time like a tiny adult.

What 2-year-old is going to understand the musical Mary Poppins?!?! She’s already asleep, even, showing she should be home resting and being allowed to be a 2-year-old.

These two idiots have NO BUSINESS being parents as they can’t seem to do ANYTHING age appropriate with poor little Suri.

I happen to think suri obviously loves the singing and dancing, and must be a very good girl….Tom and Katie your wonderful parents to all your children….

i agree totally. they shouldnt use their child for publicity. people like them, and the jolie-pitts always have their kids in tow rather than having them slipped out the backdoor by the security. They are not the celebrities here, leave the kids alone!

Suex Nomi @ 08/10/2008 at 7:14 pm

David, dude!

Whoa, time to do an emeter!
WHAT CRIMES HAVE YOU COMMITTED????

Suri’s old enough for Broadway shows but not old enough to drink from a cup. Some celebrities just don’t know what the h*ll it means to be a parent.

Also, again Suri sucks a bottlle but dresses like a 30 year old woman. Does she ever wear kids play clothes?

Why is this news? does anyone really care what this woman does wth her 2 year old child. there are millions of 2 year olds why is this one so special that we have to read about every move these people make. disgusting!!!

When have we ever seen Violet Affleck out after dark? Never, because Jen and Ben realize she’s a child and she needs to be in bed. Katie and Tom drag that child all over God’s creation after dark because she’s a gorgeous, little PR prop. Not because they can’t bear to be without her. Suri needs to be home, in bed, not out at musicals her parents could probably buy on DVD and show her.

Bottles aren’t the big deal. My son had a bottle until he was much older, his teeth are beautiful, and he’s never had a cavity.

It’s more concerning to me that this child who is at least almost 2 and 1/2 (I say at least because really, she looks and acts several months older) is almost always carried. Why not let her use her own leg power to walk on her own? Is she carried to reinforce the idea that she’s still just a little toddler? And, yes, the parents ought to make unobtrusive entrances and departures with the help of security.

Megan fox rocks @ 08/10/2008 at 8:15 pm

Katie is good mother , the way she raised suri is her business

REGINA, why is Suri a silly girl???? Because her mother dressed her??? Get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with FELIX and TRUTHFULLY and ANN……..Who is anybody that says Suri can’t see a show. AND Suri won’t be 3 Years old until next April 18th, 2009. LEAVE that blasted bottle situation alone.. My Lord, if that is all we ALL have to worry about I would be such a happy person. Katie and Tom , but most importantly SURI , will decide when to give up her bottle. I volunteer in a pre-school, and I do NOT have one precious child with a bottle OR pacifer. AND the ones who DID have one late like Suri do NOT have rotten teeth OR speech problems. Their mothers were worried but did not dwell on it, and eventually the child went on to put it down. Why must we pick on beautiful Suri and Kati every single, day with such hate. And the ones who say they are fed up with them and are moving on, keep coming back. Why?? If the Cruises get on your last nerve that bad go on to another celebrity and rip them apart….. Believe me, there are plenty!!! Katie wears clothes she loves like we all do. She does not wear them to please us or for our enjoyment. I would hate too be photographed every time I walked out the door and then written ” up” if I did not comply with everyones demands on what I should or should not look like, depending on my status around town. How nerve wrecking!!! I don’t think you guys would like it either….. Let’s quit picking on Katie and Suri…

What kind of mother drags her 2 year old out in the late evening to watch a play? Who cares about the bottle, obviously there is a lot more wrong going on than the stupid bottle.

Look at Suri - poor kid is tired and scared of all the flashbulbs. Nice of Katie to shield herself with sunglasses - how about her baby daughter?

Yes, I do think JJ is on the Cruise payroll.

Just saying.. @ 08/10/2008 at 10:11 pm

I used a bottle until I was three. I was capable of drinking out of pretty much anything by two, but I had a strong preference for the bottle. I have never experienced any speech or dental abnormalities.

I’m also a night person and always have been. My parents were NEVER able to get me to sleep before 9. (Neither one likes to stay up late, so believe me- they tried.) At two, you could’ve locked me in the bedroom at 7, but it would have been hours before there would have been any sleeping going on… and I would NOT have been happy. I’m sure people probably glared at my “horrible” parents on occasion when I was out after hours, but, honestly, I would have been up anyway… and all in all, I think I turned out pretty okay.

I can’t speak for Suri or her parents, but seriously… these sorts of decisions are her parents’ prerogative. And, honestly, considering all the coverage this kid has had, if these are the only things people can find to complain about, her parents seem to be doing a pretty good job… particularly by Hollywood standards.

Another thought… perhaps they’re taking her out later at night in an effort to avoid media attention. (She doesn’t seem too thrilled with the paparazzi.) Under normal circumstances, you’d probably take your kid to an earlier showing, but for better or for worse, Suri’s circumstances are hardly normal.

poor suri. not because of she was taken by her mommy to a broadway show or still using a bottle to drink milk. BUT because of paparazzi’s flashes and noises. i notice that for the last few posts of katie-suri,suri is always covering her ears or face.. maybe she was so disturbed by paps. poor little girl..

marypoppins @ 08/11/2008 at 12:19 am

omg, please stop Katie. that sweet baby is much too young to even process these shows. 2 yrs old? can’t mommy just read to her at home? this is over stimulating for Suri

I respect them a lot and wish the paps give them peace

Anonymous @ 08/11/2008 at 3:32 am

Does anyone care that this little 2 year old girl is quite frightened and absolutely miserable in the middle of all that media attention?

How about her mother?

Enough.

The incredible edward! @ 08/11/2008 at 3:41 am

Who cares about bottles, diapers and broadway shows?

What should really bother Holmes is that the poor child seems to be miserable in all that attention. If she has a clue she should try to protect Suri — by keeping her out of paps sight, even if that means not taking her out so often…

You people ought to get a your own life and let the parents of Suri decide what, when and where for Suri. Just because you don’t agree with how they are raising her, they may not agree with how you are raising your own children. My boys were off the bottle when they chose to be off the bottle around 20 months. I have known other children who came off the bottle at 3.5 years and have perfect teeth. Every child is an individual and will do as they need and not when you decide what is best for them. You do not know Suri and you don’t know her needs like her parents do. Leave them all alone, mind your own business.

hmm…after the other pictures and now reading about the bottle, Suri may be autistic.

Now time for a pre-emptive SHUSH.

Autism does not mean mentally retarded. It means the person is wired differently and the mind interprets lights, sounds, smells to sometimes a much higher amount than what is considered typical.

This can cause an overload on the mind. Much like how people complain about nails running down a chalkboard.

Everyone has it in various degrees.

Not being able to let go and change of routine is really difficult. Transitioning is difficult.

Especially for children. Katie probably doesn’t know what to do about Suri if she has bad tantrums. They aren’t as mild as normal tantrums.

It starts off as what appears to be a normal tantrum but then the child isn’t in control of themselves and the parent is the only one who knows their child well enough to know the best thing to do but only after they’ve really come to terms that there may be something going on with their child that they are going to have to come to terms with.

This case is going to be interesting considering Tom Cruise doesn’t believe in such things like psychiatry.

It may also really upset Katie if she notices all of these strange behaviors like her daughter lining up toys, closing her ears, startled over noises and crying, distant, big tantrums, not being able to let go and move on.

I bet Tom would tell her there is no such thing and she’ll grow out of it. If Katie listens to that and doesn’t take action now which could mean get outside intervention or do it on her own, she’ll learn later on just how difficult it is to help a child later on.

This happens alot to parents raising autistic children. One is in denial accusing the other parent of making stuff up and the in-laws start infighting by taking sides.

THIS LITTLE GIRL ALWAYS LOOKS UNHAPPY TO ME. SHE NEVER SEEMS TO SMILE. TAKE THAT BOTTLE AWAY, PUT HER ON SOME
PLAY CLOTHES INSTEAD OF A DRESS AND LET HER GET DIRTY AND BE A LITTLE KID. EVEN THE PICTURES OF KATIE PUSHING
HER ON THE SWINGS SHE WASN’T EVEN SMILING OR LAUGHING
LIKE MOST ALL CHILDREN. TAKE HER TO DO KID THINGS WITH
OTHER CHILDREN. LET HER HAVE SOME FUN.

Agree with #27: JJ’s been deliberately asking stupidly questions to provoke stupid comments from stupid irrational audience.

It’s getting lower and lower in taste.

veronicas @ 08/11/2008 at 2:07 pm

suri looks really bothered and doesnt seems to be happy at all.

The past few pictures I have seen of Suri, she is hiding her face from the cameras. I think it is abhorent that these photographers feel the
need to continuously do this to small children. She is obviously uncomfortable. It should be a law about how close a camera can be to an adult by the paparazzi and how far away they must be to take pics of kids. they do not have to be right in there faces.

she’s their baby so it’s their business. just leave the baby alone.

The poor kid, who cares if she drinks from a bottle, the problem is being constantly photographed and blasted with flashes. Surely her parents could sheild her from this alot more, they seem to revel in getting their picture taken at every opportunity. I wouldnt be parading my 2 year old for the papparazi, I realise they have the right to go out and about but they know due to their profile they know what will happen. She seems to be their accessory.

ok, now for one…i dont understand the whole taking a near 3yr old to broadway. also she should deffinately be off the bottle by now, on my daughters first b’day she woke up to a sippy cup of milk instead of bottle….didnt worry her in the slightest, but i guess that could be because she was never allowed to carry a bottle around and suck on it when ever she pleased….she would have a bottle when it was time, finish it while i held her and then it was taken away, she was also never allowed to fall asleep on the bottle. Never given a dummy or blanky. I do think they baby Suri alot but that really is up to them. Has anyone ever seen Suri eat food, like solid food? She only ever gets snapped with that damn bottle….Also could someone explain to me how Suri’s bottles work…..do they just have a bag of milk inside the actual bottle???very weird

I used the bottle til I was seven years old. Now, I have one of the most admired set of teeth (among my friends) and I can speak well (I’ve taught English to international students and been in several speaking competitions). Not that I want to say everybody should use the bottle til you are seven years old. It’s just that the “perfect time” (for everything) is very subjective.
