Katie Holmes: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Katie Holmes takes her daughter Suri Cruise to see the Broadway show Mary Poppins in New York City on Saturday.
Suri, 2, has been making the Broadway rounds, seeing The Little Mermaid last week!
With little Suri over 2 now, a lot of attention has been given to her constant use of her bottle. Extended bottle-feeding may lead to speech and dental problems according to pediatricians.
WHAT DO YOU THINK about Suri’s bottle’s business — still a baby or time to grow up?

Katie is good mother , the way she raised suri is her business
REGINA, why is Suri a silly girl???? Because her mother dressed her??? Get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with FELIX and TRUTHFULLY and ANN……..Who is anybody that says Suri can’t see a show. AND Suri won’t be 3 Years old until next April 18th, 2009. LEAVE that blasted bottle situation alone.. My Lord, if that is all we ALL have to worry about I would be such a happy person. Katie and Tom , but most importantly SURI , will decide when to give up her bottle. I volunteer in a pre-school, and I do NOT have one precious child with a bottle OR pacifer. AND the ones who DID have one late like Suri do NOT have rotten teeth OR speech problems. Their mothers were worried but did not dwell on it, and eventually the child went on to put it down. Why must we pick on beautiful Suri and Kati every single, day with such hate. And the ones who say they are fed up with them and are moving on, keep coming back. Why?? If the Cruises get on your last nerve that bad go on to another celebrity and rip them apart….. Believe me, there are plenty!!! Katie wears clothes she loves like we all do. She does not wear them to please us or for our enjoyment. I would hate too be photographed every time I walked out the door and then written ” up” if I did not comply with everyones demands on what I should or should not look like, depending on my status around town. How nerve wrecking!!! I don’t think you guys would like it either….. Let’s quit picking on Katie and Suri…
What kind of mother drags her 2 year old out in the late evening to watch a play? Who cares about the bottle, obviously there is a lot more wrong going on than the stupid bottle.
Look at Suri - poor kid is tired and scared of all the flashbulbs. Nice of Katie to shield herself with sunglasses - how about her baby daughter?
Yes, I do think JJ is on the Cruise payroll.
I used a bottle until I was three. I was capable of drinking out of pretty much anything by two, but I had a strong preference for the bottle. I have never experienced any speech or dental abnormalities.
I’m also a night person and always have been. My parents were NEVER able to get me to sleep before 9. (Neither one likes to stay up late, so believe me- they tried.) At two, you could’ve locked me in the bedroom at 7, but it would have been hours before there would have been any sleeping going on… and I would NOT have been happy. I’m sure people probably glared at my “horrible” parents on occasion when I was out after hours, but, honestly, I would have been up anyway… and all in all, I think I turned out pretty okay.
I can’t speak for Suri or her parents, but seriously… these sorts of decisions are her parents’ prerogative. And, honestly, considering all the coverage this kid has had, if these are the only things people can find to complain about, her parents seem to be doing a pretty good job… particularly by Hollywood standards.
Another thought… perhaps they’re taking her out later at night in an effort to avoid media attention. (She doesn’t seem too thrilled with the paparazzi.) Under normal circumstances, you’d probably take your kid to an earlier showing, but for better or for worse, Suri’s circumstances are hardly normal.
poor suri. not because of she was taken by her mommy to a broadway show or still using a bottle to drink milk. BUT because of paparazzi’s flashes and noises. i notice that for the last few posts of katie-suri,suri is always covering her ears or face.. maybe she was so disturbed by paps. poor little girl..
omg, please stop Katie. that sweet baby is much too young to even process these shows. 2 yrs old? can’t mommy just read to her at home? this is over stimulating for Suri
Chris Kleins baby
I respect them a lot and wish the paps give them peace
Does anyone care that this little 2 year old girl is quite frightened and absolutely miserable in the middle of all that media attention?
How about her mother?
Enough.
Who cares about bottles, diapers and broadway shows?
What should really bother Holmes is that the poor child seems to be miserable in all that attention. If she has a clue she should try to protect Suri — by keeping her out of paps sight, even if that means not taking her out so often…
You people ought to get a your own life and let the parents of Suri decide what, when and where for Suri. Just because you don’t agree with how they are raising her, they may not agree with how you are raising your own children. My boys were off the bottle when they chose to be off the bottle around 20 months. I have known other children who came off the bottle at 3.5 years and have perfect teeth. Every child is an individual and will do as they need and not when you decide what is best for them. You do not know Suri and you don’t know her needs like her parents do. Leave them all alone, mind your own business.
hmm…after the other pictures and now reading about the bottle, Suri may be autistic.
Now time for a pre-emptive SHUSH.
Autism does not mean mentally retarded. It means the person is wired differently and the mind interprets lights, sounds, smells to sometimes a much higher amount than what is considered typical.
This can cause an overload on the mind. Much like how people complain about nails running down a chalkboard.
Everyone has it in various degrees.
Not being able to let go and change of routine is really difficult. Transitioning is difficult.
Especially for children. Katie probably doesn’t know what to do about Suri if she has bad tantrums. They aren’t as mild as normal tantrums.
It starts off as what appears to be a normal tantrum but then the child isn’t in control of themselves and the parent is the only one who knows their child well enough to know the best thing to do but only after they’ve really come to terms that there may be something going on with their child that they are going to have to come to terms with.
This case is going to be interesting considering Tom Cruise doesn’t believe in such things like psychiatry.
It may also really upset Katie if she notices all of these strange behaviors like her daughter lining up toys, closing her ears, startled over noises and crying, distant, big tantrums, not being able to let go and move on.
I bet Tom would tell her there is no such thing and she’ll grow out of it. If Katie listens to that and doesn’t take action now which could mean get outside intervention or do it on her own, she’ll learn later on just how difficult it is to help a child later on.
This happens alot to parents raising autistic children. One is in denial accusing the other parent of making stuff up and the in-laws start infighting by taking sides.
THIS LITTLE GIRL ALWAYS LOOKS UNHAPPY TO ME. SHE NEVER SEEMS TO SMILE. TAKE THAT BOTTLE AWAY, PUT HER ON SOME
PLAY CLOTHES INSTEAD OF A DRESS AND LET HER GET DIRTY AND BE A LITTLE KID. EVEN THE PICTURES OF KATIE PUSHING
HER ON THE SWINGS SHE WASN’T EVEN SMILING OR LAUGHING
LIKE MOST ALL CHILDREN. TAKE HER TO DO KID THINGS WITH
OTHER CHILDREN. LET HER HAVE SOME FUN.
Agree with #27: JJ’s been deliberately asking stupidly questions to provoke stupid comments from stupid irrational audience.
It’s getting lower and lower in taste.
suri looks really bothered and doesnt seems to be happy at all.
The past few pictures I have seen of Suri, she is hiding her face from the cameras. I think it is abhorent that these photographers feel the
need to continuously do this to small children. She is obviously uncomfortable. It should be a law about how close a camera can be to an adult by the paparazzi and how far away they must be to take pics of kids. they do not have to be right in there faces.
she’s their baby so it’s their business. just leave the baby alone.
The poor kid, who cares if she drinks from a bottle, the problem is being constantly photographed and blasted with flashes. Surely her parents could sheild her from this alot more, they seem to revel in getting their picture taken at every opportunity. I wouldnt be parading my 2 year old for the papparazi, I realise they have the right to go out and about but they know due to their profile they know what will happen. She seems to be their accessory.
ok, now for one…i dont understand the whole taking a near 3yr old to broadway. also she should deffinately be off the bottle by now, on my daughters first b’day she woke up to a sippy cup of milk instead of bottle….didnt worry her in the slightest, but i guess that could be because she was never allowed to carry a bottle around and suck on it when ever she pleased….she would have a bottle when it was time, finish it while i held her and then it was taken away, she was also never allowed to fall asleep on the bottle. Never given a dummy or blanky. I do think they baby Suri alot but that really is up to them. Has anyone ever seen Suri eat food, like solid food? She only ever gets snapped with that damn bottle….Also could someone explain to me how Suri’s bottles work…..do they just have a bag of milk inside the actual bottle???very weird
I used the bottle til I was seven years old. Now, I have one of the most admired set of teeth (among my friends) and I can speak well (I’ve taught English to international students and been in several speaking competitions). Not that I want to say everybody should use the bottle til you are seven years old. It’s just that the “perfect time” (for everything) is very subjective.
