Angelina Jolie’s Presidential Pick is Undecided
United Nations goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie hasn’t decided who she’s voting for between Presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama.
The 33-year-old new mom said in a statement to Variety managing editor Ted Johnson via political adviser Trevor Neilson: “I have not decided on a candidate. I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world.”
Back in February, Angie wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post, “[calling] on each of the presidential candidates and congressional leaders to announce a comprehensive refugee plan with a specific timeline and budget as part of their Iraq strategy.”

It is probably a good idea to listen and “learn” up on both candidates’ position on various issues and register to vote while you are at, before knocking a celebrity who is doing just that. When it comes to AJ, it is criticize first and read the rest of the statement later. AJ is a United Nations Ambassador and humanitarian. As such, it is beneficial for her to remain impartial. I don’t won’t a thousand people in the voting booth with me. It is a personal decision. Peace to all.
Jennifer Aniston is a Barack Obama supporter. I wonder if Angelina knows that? I read where she sent a donation.
Brad and Angie should pay Trevor double check. He is working as a family rep also right now since Brad and Angie both doesn’t have any reps right now. I’m looking forward to see IF Cindy G isgoing to be at Venice or not,If she isn’t,then I will be sure Brad has stopped being with her anymore.

As an Ambassador Angie can hardly keep stirring up the pot. Ambassadors are suppose to facilitate change in a gentle, non-violent way–harmony etc.
She can hardly run around calling the government awful, talk openly about politics etc., without offending people world-wide that are in a position to help aid the refugees.
Her job is to negotiate, to create a harmony for discussion. Not rile the world’s leaders up.

Your statement makes no sense whatsoever. If high profile people are suppose to keep their mouths shut, then that includes Edwards. And Yawn to him.
Big Angie fan and I would be really disheartened if she, as a woman, supported a Republican who wants to take away our rights over our bodies. I also disagree that we should stay in Iraq. I hope she is as anti-war as I imagine her to be - and staying in Iraq further fuels war. We can save refugees even if we are out of there. So if she is properly quoted - I have to disagree with her on Iraq. We should be out of there! They don’t want us and our soldiers are dying.
And last, I believe the rights of American women’s bodies should take precedence over Iraqis. We spend billions on this war. No thinking woman could POSSIBLY think voting McCain is a plus. Angie, please do more research on McCain - the guy who says we should BOMB Iran. I know you are against bombings in Darfur and throughout the world. Certainly, I hope you are as concerned about Iranian life. Think of all the Iranian children who will die if we support McCain. Seriously, it would be a tragedy.
I hope she won’t vote to John Mc C. The man is going to put us in another war in Middle East. I certainly don’t want to see more people from America or Iran to die.
The man is going to bomb Iran, there will be more refugees if Angie cares about this issue which i’m sure she does.
I am disappointed at the Angie’s fans who do not understand what she’s saying. First, she was asked a question about who she’s supporting and like a true ambassador she has registered as an “independent”, the true meaning of which she’s not on any side. It makes her work well with whomever is in power. I don’t think she will publicize her preference, she will just consider someone who favors refugee programs and the things that interest her. She does not support war, she supports taking care of the refugees.
PT, DG is David Geffen. That’s why that E Snead is so pro JA. She knows who is going to be her boss.

What’s that got to do with the price of tea in China? X’s support doesn’t mean jack. That’s why you don’t see Barack Obama on the nightly news and CNN saying, “Golly…I wonder if I have Jennifer Aniston’s support! Michelle, call the ho and find out!”
On the other hand…if Obama finds out he’s got Angie’s support, he’ll name-drop like a mofo. And so would McCain.
#60 lila HUH! What you said ..Canada loves Obama???
Speak for yourself madear. That is a very broad statement. Do not paint a whole nation with the same brush.
Not that it matters b/c as everyone knows we cant vote but if we could we would not get one province to vote on your comment alone . Let alone all of Canada. Geesh!

…, the fact that Angie decided to let Trevor issue the statement is because her Dad insinuated that she likes McCain more than Obama.
——-
Did he? Do you remember what he said that makes you think that?
I feel sorry for John McCain. In 2003, when Bush decided to go to war, McCain was against it, and got all the flak. Now, suddenly he is painted as a war mongering villain because he thinks we need to finish what we started in Iraq (which he didn’t approve in the first place). Always on the wrong side of the fence.

I could care less which way she votes…I’m sure as informed as she seems to be on international affairs she’s aware of the candidates’ positions…she KNOWS who she would prefer but ain’t telling…and this is her right…as a member of the UNHCR, she has an agenda and shouldn’t announce her preference…my choice for president has nothing to do with whomever she chooses.

Hi cook! ITA.
Angelina has never helped anyone without issuing a press release or staging a photo-op. There’s a story in the press today that Obama and McCain are hoping for her endorsement. Yeah Right. I suspect this story comes from her camp in order to make herself look relevant. She is an overblown celebrity who lives in France, has never voted, has never had children in the US, has never cared about American issues, has three children born out of wedlock and turned herself into the most famous woman in the world by sleeping with a married man. She is the biggest most self-important publicity seeker on the planet. Brad called her one of the most important people in modern times. Huh? What like JFK, FDR, MLK? Stop drinking her kool-aid people. She doesn’t want to be left alone. She hasn’t picked a candidate because she wants people to keep hanging on her every word. She wants the publicity. Angie, stop issuing press releases. No one cares what you think and neither candidate wants your endorsement.

“On the other hand…if Obama finds out he’s got Angie’s support, he’ll name-drop like a mofo. And so would McCain.”
Too true and that is the crux of the whining. The fact that AJ is an influential, UN Ambassador has a few up in arms. The fact that an op piece was written about her and her decision to not name who she is voting for, has gotten some in a tizzy. How dare this woman, who is a mere celebrity, have such clout. At the end of the day, we are responsible for our own voting decisions.
hi guys,i love here regardless of who she vote for,am not a US citizen so i really i will not vote,i hate all politicians, to me they will do anything to get elected

Duh. LOL. Sorry…I completely missed that. Now the Goree Girls question makes sense. Okay, Geffen doesn’t oversee day-to-day operations at Dreamworks. He’s the “big picture” guy and mostly retired, except for when Spielberg is unhappy. He’s got people who’s job it is to keep Spielberg happy and when he feels that Spielberg - or Katzenberg - isn’t getting respect, then he’s all over the people at Par. Katzenberg technically has a separate deal from Dreamworks and the deal for Dreamworks Animation runs through 2010 or 2011, so for the time being he’ll be staying when Spielberg/Geffen leave. Katzenberg will probably opt out in 2010 and rejoin the other two are the reformed Dreamworks, but that’s a problem Par will have to deal with later.
So bascially what I’m saying is that Geffen has no clue that Dreamworks has signed on to POSSIBLY produce a movie that X is producing and may be in. However, that’s a moot issue, because all of the projects at Dreamworks that are “in production” when their contract with Par runs out on Dec 31, 2008 STAY with Par. Ergo, if I were Geffen, I’d greenlight Goree Girls, get it in the hopper…and dumpt it on Par as a parting gift. Meanwhile, just because Dreamworks has greenlit something before they leave…doesn’t mean Par has to keep the project. They can very easily cancel the production and take a loss on whatever money has been put into the project. And since it was a movie X was producing and possibly starring in…I doubt it was ever slated for more than $20-25MIL to begin with. It was a first-look deal, not a sure thing.

Angelina, what about the children and adults in crisis in our OWN country! What about, how are americans going to afford to heat their homes this winter? What about the homeless children and adults HERE in our own country. That’s pretty important too.
——-
bethany, that is a question for the government.
Angelina is not a member of the government. She works for the UNHCR.
I rest my case judging from the last comment from the hen. AJ is just one woman. There is no need to give into conspiracy, voodoo and ranting.
Passing Through,
you’re still stalking me. lmaoooo stop!
Then she should keep her mouth shut, cause in her attempt to keep herself “neutral” but still concerned with these causes, she’s coming across as someone that is very naive for a UN ambassador and whose promotion of international justice is rather tepid.
Being a “humanitarian” and somewhat diplomat, she should think of better ways of saying she’s not telling who she will vote for, since both candidate’s positions on international issues are pretty clear by now and the fact that she even suggests that she still hasn’t decided just shows how involved she really is.
chris ,you are such a stupid fool, get your facts right, bye guys,
