Angelina Jolie’s Presidential Pick is Undecided
United Nations goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie hasn’t decided who she’s voting for between Presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama.
The 33-year-old new mom said in a statement to Variety managing editor Ted Johnson via political adviser Trevor Neilson: “I have not decided on a candidate. I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world.”
Back in February, Angie wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post, “[calling] on each of the presidential candidates and congressional leaders to announce a comprehensive refugee plan with a specific timeline and budget as part of their Iraq strategy.”

“New mom”? This chicks had a litter of kids for awhile now!
And I’m so sure this is her own commentary and thoughts, and not someone working fir her *rolls eyes*
She needs to shutup and raise her kids. She could also spare us her acting and retire. It’s nit like any of her movies besides Tomb Raider have done all that well. And certainly the only thing she got acting applause for, was for basically playing her own loony a*s in Girl Interrupted.
First off, registered independent voters are, people who have registered to vote but are not affiliated with a political party.
Secondly, there is no need to start a talk about JA, she’s not relevant to what the topic is.
Thirdly, chris if you want to know about Angelina and her humanitarian work, there are many people here to help you, you don’t have to insult Angelina to get an answer.
Oh, excuse my typos. Tho I think if you read it aloud I will probably sound like a German exchange student trying English.. which is always funny stuff.
I’m with #123/Chris! Everytime she wants someone to know she’s up to any good, she’ll talk about it or release info on it. Charity and humanitarian work isn’t about the glory.
The amount she gives and the time she puts into stuff isn’t even anything of much substance, compared to how much she wastes on herself and her tribe. Also considering she is grossly overpaid, she could certainly do more.
I suppose her excuse and the excuse of her fans for seeking publicity is, she’s bringing awareness to the cause(s). She can do that without pointing every little thing out and patting herself on the back.
Angie has turned me against her. If she can’t see how detrimental voting for McCain will be and that she should vote for Obama, she is not the person I thought she was.
At least Brad can see the light, and is supporting Obama.
Angie is a disgrace to not have made up her mind to support Obama. Shame on you Angelina Jolie. I would hate to think you are like you disgusting father Jon Voight.
chris, whatever and werd, Angelina is one of the biggest stars of her time. What she does is news. If you don’t like it, don’t get on her thread, don’t watch her movies and don’t listen to what she has to say, it’s simple and you’ll avoid her. What she does has practical significance to a lot of her fans, like the people she has touched by her work. I guess there is nothing you can do about such people who sincerely care about Angelina. Give it up and don’t waste your time.
If Angelina Jolie can’t see that Obama is the best for our country right now, then all her humanitarian work is a farce.
How in the hell can you be a humanitarian and can’t elimination warmonger McCain from your decision for president. We will just have more years of the Bush adm, if McCain is elected.
I am disappointed in Jolie. I will rethink my opinion on her.
Thanks God Brad sees the light.
regardless…..I don’t think either candidate- be in Obama or McCain. They are not going to be any good for the mess our country is in!

Dayum, I love your post!! But you do realize that making sense and giving facts in a polite but firm way, correcting irritable people who haven’t a clue and prove it with their erroneous posts in bitter tones, and your trying to be helpful will only brand you a “loony” by those who insist on such nonsense as “Angie only does nice things to promote herself”, and all the people here who obviously care deeply what she is saying but can’t fathom that perhaps a reporter or two asked her the questions she is answering.
I hope you keep posting, as you are spot on.
Ain’t that a b*tch. Talking about she haven’t made up her mind who she will vote for yet.
What are you waiting for Angelina? Are you waiting for November 4th to roll around.
If a person has not made up their mind by now, there is only two things going on. Either, they are not voting at all, or they don’t want anyone to know who they are voting for.
Some people have no clue as to what she does or doesn’t do. People should read up on some of the issues Angelina’s talked about rather than juding her based on your own ignorance. She champions refuges who’s been displaced by political interests, which some of that’s been done by Bush administration.
She maybe an actress, but she has a cause that goes beyond the surface. Inteasd of criticizing her every move, people should make an effort to gain some understanding of the global issues that will affect your own life and the lives of your children.
Bunch idots! Most of you are too short sighted. Pray that your children would have better understanding of themselves and their surroundings!
You do not live in this world all by your stupid self. Like it or not, you are inter connected to the rest of the world. Thus, better be aware of the happenings in the world.

Obama being the lesser of two evils doesn’t make him the best for our country right now. It just makes him better than McCain — which isn’t saying a whole lot.
I remember being so disgusted by both candidates in the1988 election that I just sat the whole thing out and voted for neither.
I’ll vote for Obama this time, but I still have some reservations about him. Just because he’s not McCain doesn’t make him the messiah.
First of all Angie, GET MARRIED, you and Brad are not setting a good example for your children.
Secondly, REGISTER TO VOTE, AS A DEMOCRAT
McCain is a warmonger and he has no idea what to do about the economy. How can any rational mother even consider voting for McCain.
VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA!
114 cook @ 08/11/2008 at 6:33 pm Orchid,
Hi…if you aren’t following the race since Hillary left, I believe it’s uninformed and irresponsible to pay attention to hearsay about Obama…the phrase “sore loser” comes to mind for those Hillary people not getting over or are intending to punish for Obama’s being selected by the Democrats…
——-
cook, I don’t have a vote.
I used to follow everything when Hillary was still in it, because it’s SO interesting to see a woman running for office, but stopped after she lost. It was good actually, because my eyes and ears were hurting!
It was too much!
Now I watch the news and I heard that Obama has changed his views on things (flip-flopped) which is understandable. He IS ultra left and HAS to move to the middle to win more votes.
Hmmm, I suppose McCain has to move to the middle too, but is he far right? I hear he is not conservative enough for many Republicans.
#139, #132 and probably plenty of others I don’t have time to look through all the comments of. Why are you voting for Obama? And “I want change” isn’t a real answer. It’s what people who don’t know say. I’d really, really love to hear why you people want to vote for him.
I get the feeling there is a lot of bandwagon voting this time around. And depending on which celeb is endorsing who, is how some people are going to vote.
chris/whtever/jane,etc………I WILL ONLY CARE WHT JENNIFER IS VOTING FOR!……….u all sounded the same….all ur comments SCREAMS JENNIFER ANASTYNESS FANS!….very typical and very obvious!..i am not implying , she is nasty ,it’s the nasty fans….i mean they would use any excuse to slam miss jolie to make themself better, when the reality is ……..UR JUST NOTHING BUT JUST A NASTY PEST!.
OH GoD the suspense is NOT killing me. Please, you couldn’t get that bia within 50 ft of pulling a republican lever but she likes to play politics for the same reason she sells pics of her kids to bring attention to her causes (or stay relevant :-/)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Because I believe in a woman’s right to choose and I don’t believe in back alley abortions. The next President will nominate Supreme Court judges that can alter the lives of Americans.
Because I am anti-war and I want someone who believes that peace and negotiation is the way to go before we decide to bomb people who then can turn around and hate us more for bombing their countries (regardless of what good intentions we had)
Because I believe in his health care plan.
Because peace is not negotiable for me.
Vote Democrat in ‘08!!
Same troll over and over. Give it up troll. If you have to say the same thing with different names, then you are getting paid minimum wage.
If she hadn’t decided, just say no comment - saying haven’t decided says she actually would consider voting for a pro-war war monger - so against her ongoing petitions to stop violence in Darfur. How can she support peace in Africa but not peace in Iraq? How can she actually think McCain will be pro-peace and against war? Does this not contradict everything she has ever stood for? If she votes for McCain, she can’t continue to complain about women and children being raped in Darfur. Or the plight of refugees. The Republicans don’t give a rat’s tail about no refugees. Angelina: just say NO COMMENT but please stare us the double talk.

question,
Very well said. It seems some fans will probaly start “hating” her if she does publicly “endorse” who they support. Never mind the issues sh believes in.
^^^^ should read “probably”, and “does not publicly endorse whom”.
You have up to the time you punch your choice on the ballet box to choose a President or decide who to vote for in the various categories. So it is probably a good idea to study all the issues.

…….AJ as an international representative of the UNHCR, which in theory has an “apolitical” agenda, should be apolitical in her public persona because it would be inappropriate and a misuse of her position with the UNHCR. She technically is not their political spokesperson but a “messenger of awareness.” By clearly having stated her concern is for refugees…at this point it is not clear what Obama or McCain’s position is regarding refugees, therefore AJ cannot really support one or the other unless and until one or both of them focuses and details specifically on the refugee issue as a separate entity from the many other complex issues that entrench any country engaged in conflict.
