Angelina Jolie’s Presidential Pick is Undecided
United Nations goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie hasn’t decided who she’s voting for between Presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama.
The 33-year-old new mom said in a statement to Variety managing editor Ted Johnson via political adviser Trevor Neilson: “I have not decided on a candidate. I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world.”
Back in February, Angie wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post, “[calling] on each of the presidential candidates and congressional leaders to announce a comprehensive refugee plan with a specific timeline and budget as part of their Iraq strategy.”

Hi…if you aren’t following the race since Hillary left, I believe it’s uninformed and irresponsible to pay attention to hearsay about Obama…the phrase “sore loser” comes to mind for those Hillary people not getting over or are intending to punish for Obama’s being selected by the Democrats
#######
Oh, please. Give it a rest. There are many, many people who know Obama very well and have a lot of problems with him. I’d like to know how many of his rabid supporters really know his actual Illinois State Senate record as well as his lack of a record in the US Senate. There is simply not a lot there.
For instance, Obama has issued troubling statements about a woman’s right to control her body, his proposed “solution” to Iraq as well as the rights of other minorities like gays and lesbians. His use of rabid and ignorant homophobic preachers in his past and present campaigns is shameful. The misogyny rampant in his campaign and the smearing as racists of good and decent people with decades long work on behalf of minorities as racists for no other reason than to wrestle away African American Clinton supporters is - in my book - almost unforgivable.
There are many reasons to not want to vote for Obama. The scare tactics of the Obama followers don’t work with people who have lived through decades of elections. As long as the dems hold the Senate and take the House, we should be alright.
As for Jolie, what she said was perfectly appropriate and wise for a rep of the UN who must work on a bipartisan basis for the good of her organization. I also agree that we cannot just pull out completely. The blood bath that would follow would be on our heads. I remember our pull out of Vietnam all too clearly. As much as I actively opposed the Vietnam war, I still consider our method of abandoning the south the way we did to be one of the most shameful episodes in US history. I don’t want to repeat that. No one who cares about other human beings would want that repeated.
is this coming out party? everyone has opinion? if what ange has said doesn’t suit your agenda, then she’s worthless? wow, can we have the difference in opinion without putting all balme on ange?
This is an old Angie quote being used to answer a new question. Why does Angie never get the benefit of the doubt. Come on AJ fans. Stick up for our girl.

STFU and get lost. Who invited you on this thread?
To think my vote was with Obama now after reading these comments l dont think l want to.
Jennifer Aniston is a Barack Obama supporter. I wonder if Angelina knows that? I read where she sent a donation.
————————————————————————-
u know, maniston should buy another dog with that donation and named the dog OSCAR!!!!she can utilized this oscar everyime she felt itchey lol which she always does……..to lick her vavavagina.
I just heard Angie’s dad on The Factor. There must be other conservatives in Hollywood. It’s just that the others don’t want to say it, while Jon Voight is not a young guy trying to make it in Hollywood.
I never knew that the McCains have adopted a daughter from a third-world country.

Oh goody I sense another raging debate about to happen. Watch out for those Sci Fi bloggers. It is bad enough with the spamming hen. Too funny
Jolie replaces Cruise in Col’s ‘Salt’
“Edwin A. Salt” is about to undergo a gender change.
Once expected to star Tom Cruise, the Columbia Pictures espionage thriller will be redrafted by screenwriter Kurt Wimmer as a star vehicle for Angelina Jolie. Philip Noyce remains attached as director and Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sunil Perkash are producing.
Jolie is close to a deal to play the title character, a CIA officer who’s accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence.
Cruise had long flirted with the project, but that ended recently. The well-regarded script had several male movie stars circling.
Jolie took a liking to it, prompting the studio’s decision to rewrite it. Sources said the project won’t require that much of an overhaul to suit her.
After Universal beefed up Jolie’s role in “Wanted” and then marketed the action film squarely on Jolie’s shoulders and watched it gross $132 million domestically, Jolie reestablished in the wake of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” that she is the rare female who is viable in an action genre that has been almost the exclusive domain of men.
“Edwin A. Salt” will undergo a title change, and if everything falls into place, the film shapes up as a return vehicle for Jolie, who recently gave birth to twins. Another candidate for her return is the Lionsgate drama “Atlas Shrugged,” which has been adapted by Randall Wallace from the Ayn Rand novel.
Jolie, who also provided a lead voice in the DreamWorks Animation hit “Kung Fu Panda,” drew strong notices at the Cannes Film Festival for her starring role in the Clint Eastwood-directed drama “The Changeling” for Imagine and Universal. That film opens in late October.

WOW it is a little crazy on the thread, anyway thanks Jared for the thread.
And this is my opinion on this topic. I agree with Angie. I, for one, don’t know who I am voting for. I have reservations regarding both candidates. I don’t get some of their views or what they stand for. And if I am honest I can’t stand either of them. But I guess I will have to vote for the lesser of two evils.
Belle
Great minds thinking alike. Beat ya to it, Belle. Let the fun begin.
Things people need to look up about all candidates before blindly bashing others:
Health Care Plans
Economic Plans
Energy Plan
Environmental Plan
Women’s Rights
Minority Rights
GLBT Rights
Military Plan– Includes Iraq
Immigration Plan
Foreign Policy
Plan on the handling of firearms
National Security
Education
Ethics Reform
That was in no particular order, but until you know whoever you’re supporting/ hating on’s plans very well, please STFU. THAT’S why some people are still undecided. There are a BUNCH of points to still come to understand, especially if you are not really a political person.

cook, I don’t have a vote.
I used to follow everything when Hillary was still in it, because it’s SO interesting to see a woman running for office, but stopped after she lost. It was good actually, because my eyes and ears were hurting! It was too much!
Now I watch the news and I heard that Obama has changed his views on things (flip-flopped) which is understandable. He IS ultra left and HAS to move to the middle to win more votes.
Hmmm, I suppose McCain has to move to the middle too, but is he far right? I hear he is not conservative enough for many Republicans.

Oops, I must rerwrite that paragraph!

Thanks bdj and Belle for the article. Good for Angie

Hanging out with hotties all in a day’s work for Adriana Barraza
You’ve worked with your share of hunks.
Gael García Bernal [in Babel and Perros] is a total pleasure. As for Brad Pitt in Babel, I mostly talk to him on the phone. I was in Miami, and he was in Marrakech. But I did get to meet him, and I have to say he is just as good-looking in person as he is on screen. Maybe more. You don’t realize how tall he is. He was very courteous, a gentleman.
SOME people are WELL-INFORMED voters
JILLIAN @ 08/11/2008 at 7:37 pm
Third, STFU!
If she hadn’t decided, just say no comment - saying haven’t decided says she actually would consider voting for a pro-war war monger - so against her ongoing petitions to stop violence in Darfur. How can she support peace in Africa but not peace in Iraq? How can she actually think McCain will be pro-peace and against war? Does this not contradict everything she has ever stood for? If she votes for McCain, she can’t continue to complain about women and children being raped in Darfur. Or the plight of refugees. The Republicans don’t give a rat’s tail about no refugees. Angelina: just say NO COMMENT but please stare us the double talk.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
What is she going to achieve by saying “no comment”. She’s an advocate for refugees and needy children around the world. She’s saying I would consider a candidate who makes that a priority. Does it mean she’s saying this because she wants the candidates to think war is not an answer? I’ll say yes. In the case of Iraq where there is an existing war, she previously stated that the money spent on the war could have been used for other important things signifying her lack of approval for the war, at the same time the war is already on, and has been going on for some time, she’s then saying as we think of ending the war, please let’s make it our responsibility not to forget the refugees. She and Brad have followed that up by making personal donations recently to the children affected by the war both in Iraq and in America. Her position is very clear, there is absolutely no double talk here, she’s merely reinforcing her beliefs.

I doubt that anyone really cares who Angie is going to vote for. It is my opinion, after reading a few of these threads, that the average age of the brangelina fan is about 12 or 14 so they are not even old enough to vote. Those with a little more maturity would not be influenced by the voting habits of celebrities.
My grandfather always don’t me to listen and ask questions. But don’t make up your mind based on one thing. IMO Bush was elected because he as the anti Bill Clinton (ie no scandals). But look what we go instead ….IRAQ. Good for Angelina for keeping her mind open and her brain working.
m @ 08/11/2008 at 8:52 pm
hmmm. I think you got lost and looking for the ZacChace thread. If you have been reading the threads, then you will know that the BP and AJ fans are well-informed, committed to various causes and international Peace.
#151,
groundcontrol,
The problem is that the rabid Obama supporters dont realise that if he wins, there will be no immediate pull-out in Iraq. It’s as Colin Powell said,”we break it, we fix it”, and Obama knows this. What he is doing and saying is disingenious at best, because he knows that is what people want to hear.
I was ALWAYS against this ill-fated war, and had many a heated argument about it…. “shock and awe” my a**. However, now that the US have started this debacle, it’s not fair to the Iraqi people to just up and leave their country in shambles, vulnerable to terrorists, which was unheard of during the Saddam regime. I don’t want to see more American lives lost, but also no more innocent Iraqi lives either. In the beginning of the war, before the number of American casualities, no one was talking about pulling out, and at that time there were horrendous stories about the Iraq people being murdered, so what changed?.
This war will be a permanent failure on US foreign policies, and none of the candidates, no matter what they say, have any good plan to solve this mess. I however, agree with Angie, and have been saying it for the past how many years this “occupation” has been going on. the US has to say and fix that country. Its the only decent thing , and since the US is such a God-fearing country and all, the only righteous thing to do.
For the first time, i am not enamoured of either candidate, and am really saddened that this is the best America has to offer for a presidential election. Like Angie, i am still listening. No harm in that.
to whom it may concern,
Yes, I’m very serious…there are many who know the records of most campaigning for the top job…
…it wasn’t very long ago that the Bush campaign and other Republicans cut Mccain a new a sshole, and like a good sheep this time around, he has fallen in-line…In 1995, I could’ve voted for that Mccain, Chuck Hagel, and John Warner…the other two are still good but not this new Mccain.
I voted Clinton twice and by the time the world learned about his bulls hit shenanigans, alot of us paid closer attention…then, ultimately in 2000, the Clintons selfishly disrespected and ignored Gore’s challenges for their own later political pursuits…unforgiveable to me and a lot of others…Hillary followed along, voted for that war in Iraq errantly like a sheep without a conscience and trying to seem tough…She would probably vote AGAINGST a woman’s right to choose if it would get her the nominee and explain her decision later…She has always taking advantage of her power over females.
Barack is as credentialed as anyone else running…Why not give him a
chance?…He has been consistent with what most Americans and the World can see and has withstood challenges brought on by people associated with him for years to the contrary and has made it clear, this is his opinion and not mine…Noone who isn’t a sheep agrees with everything their pastor or bishop says.
I haven’t just got interested in my civil duties since Angelina was in grade school, I was taught at home many years before and have always participated in civil affairs…I’m selflessly okay with my choice.
