OlderAngelina Jolie Replaces Tom Cruise in “Edwin A. Salt”
Angelina Jolie will be replacing Tom Cruise in the Columbia Pictures espionage thriller Edwin A. Salt.
Variety says Angie is “the rare female who is viable in an action genre that has been almost the exclusive domain of men.” No doubt!!!
Jolie would play the title character, a CIA officer who’s accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence. Edwin A. Salt will be rewritten by the movie studios and will undergo a title change, obviously.
Tom had long been rumored to take the project but eventually bowed out because (reportedly) a $20 million salary wasn’t possible. The film will reunite Angie will her Bone Collector director, Philip Noyce.
Wow, who saw this one coming!? More spy chick Angie! Woo!!!!!

Hey aeon, I almost feel sorry for the trolls. They had such hopes for this “relationship”… although Jesus please us, how could anyone NOT have seen this coming? He’s a user and she was desperate… a recipe for disaster if I ever heard of one.
#673: Omigosh, Jill. We have the same kind of in-laws (RIP). I loved my in-laws and they loved me and we got along better than my ex and I ever did. They were such sweethearts that I miss them to this day.
My parents were the kind of in-laws that every daughter-in- law should have. Not all in-laws are crummy meddlers…some do go against the stereotype. I just bet that Brad’s parents take their cue from him and are very willing to meet Angie more than halfway in order to promote harmony in the family. They do look the type who puts their children’s happiness above all else.
The “experts” on body language that frequent the JP threads should have read them already cause they never miss an opportunity when it comes to Brad and Angie. Maybe that’s the reason why they are writhing with jealousy and envy everytime they see pics of the whole extended fam getting together.

Yes, it caused x a major problem to her public because she’s not been able to shake off the desparate,dumped poor little victim image. Also I’ve always said that x caused major problems for herself viz a viz her relationships with men in hollywood who would want to avoid the backstabbing she did on Brad.
But really, I can’t see how throwing Angelina under a bus caused x problems in the hollywood industry. I wonder if anyone can enlighten?

Because most people in the industry knew the problems that Brad and Jennifer were having in their marriage and that it was pretty much over before he even met Angelina. Because people in the industry like and respect both Brad and Angelina and they don’t like that Jennifer lied about the break up and tried to portray Angelina as the cause of their break up and tried to portray Brad as some insensitive lout. Brad has a rep as one of the nicest guys in the business. People like him and people knew he was the one working to get her what she wanted - that is, film roles outside of Friends. Angelina is well liked as well. Both are particularly liked by below the line workers.
Whatever issues Jennifer has - and 20 years of therapy should give you some clue as to their magnitude and persistence - people don’t like that she was dishonest about her divorce and used her divorce in an unseemly way to hurt other people - the Vanity Fair whine fest article for just one example.
That article/posting above about Rumor Has It/Ted Griffin is pretty darn clear to me and it speaks volumes about Jennifer - none of it flattering.

Off-topic, I saw tropic thunder and Tom Cruise was hillarious in it. Ben stiller, Jack Black , Robert Downy jr and Matthew McConahay are in it . Non-stop laughs. There were so many LOL moments. The funniest scene to me involves Jack Black and a bird. Funny ,I almost peed in my pants watching that scene..
08-14-08 madrid spain after 6 am
This is a great surprised ! !. OMG - never ending good news for Jolie. Another action pix. A spy on the run to clear her name. I don’t think it gets better than this. I hope she have those big guns like Lara Croft and Fox, and does show her toosh . ‘just dying to see it again ! I braved going to the movie with a new friend while in Barcelona. Wanted is still being shown here. Sagrada Familia in Barcelona - this is truly a wonder in architecture ! Madrid museums and architecture - a sight to see. Worth every penny !
Any one visiting Spain - the guys are just too too fast and passionate for me, except they serenade you in those town between Barcelona and Madrid ! I do like Frenchmen better. But nightlife is still much better in Madrid, Spain except in the French Riviera from Nice to Monaco !

From the little I’ve seen of the senior Pitts, I like them. They seem to love all six of their grandchildren by Brad and Angie, not just the bio ones. They probably thought they would never see any grandchildren from Brad, and boy, did Angie deliver!
I love being a mom-in-law. My daughter-in-law is much closer to me than she is to her own mother. I call her my daughter because I’m very fond of her.

Wow, I hope she does set a record. She already gets 20 million for some movies. Maybe it’s not that they didn’t want to pay the lead aka Tom Cruise his asking price. they might not have thought HE was worth it and wouldn’t have the box office appeal as Angelina. I’m all for giving her more money as she will do something with part of it to benefit others.

Oops, the La Colombe d’or I found online is in Austin, Texas. Could not find pics for the one in France. But saw several pics of the St. Paul area where Brad and family are visiting. Really pretty area with a lot of history. Cute, quaint villages. Guess family is getting out and touring area. We know Brad likes to get out and about. Z looks uncomfortable in one pic probably due to the papz.

#718: Word of caution: the dating pool keeps getting shallower and shallower. Most of the guys that they had been eyeballing as potential hookups for Jen (i.e. Matt McC, Jake G, Orly Bloom, George C., etc.) had ended up being taken by other actresses, supermodels, a waitress or are busy having babies. Not a lot of available A-listers out there who are still on the hunt for prospective dates or steady girlfriend.
The young up and comers (B-DList) all have partners they’re promoting cause they’re trying to be the new loveteam or being B&A wannabes so single aging actresses just don’t really stand a chance of catching a good, young specimen of manhood unless they’re really a pro at this game.
It’s a jungle out there, Jen. Canvassing boytoys by phone is not the most favorable tactic when there’s this much competition…did anybody ever tell you that? Up the ante a little, dangle a bigger carrot. Untie that pursestring and don’t continue to be el cheapo. You got the money…you should go for quality and stop the quest for quantity. There was this guy on Extra who wanted to date you…he’s on some daytime soap opera. You’ve lowered your standard before (remember the crewguys? How about writers on Friends?) so this would be no great shakes for you. You’re not gonna land another Brad so think about it…hard.

Reading that account, ( if it’s true), it almost seem this person who disclosed this info, wanted it made public, as they weren’t being discreet in the least. Probably her PR flack is getting a “leetle bit” tired of all the drama in her life, and him having to sort it all out.. Money really can’t buy you happiness.

Angie is probably delighted to have Jane and Bill Pitt there. She says they are wonderful to her and great grandparents. The photos three weeks again taken from somewhere nearby show Bill & Jane Pitt having a terrific time with their grandkids. Brad’s nephews too.
