The Famous Gallery of Wax Sculptures Is Renowned for Celebrities, Gruesome Past

If you step into one of the eight Madame Tussauds around the world, you’ll see a host of celebrities, movie stars, musicians, as well as some of the world’s leaders and notable figures from history.

The museums bring in millions of visitors each year, and are not without controversy even today. Recently, at the Berlin museum, an Adolf Hitler effigy was attacked shortly after it was unveiled.

Mainly, though, visitors come to see the wax likenesses of celebrities, like the Amy Winehouse figure that was just added.

Ben Lovett, spokesman for Madame Tussauds London, admits Tussauds has changed in some ways, with a stronger focus on celebrity, but insists that in other ways it’s much the same.

Celebrities, as we know them, did not exist in the Tussaud’s day, but “she had an understanding that the public are prepared to pay good money to see famous people,” says Ben Lovett.

Critics of today’s exhibitions say they are too focused on movie stars, like Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Lovett counters that they are simply following the principles of Tussaud.

“We are reflecting what the general public feels are the people who have made an impact on society and history. We see ourselves as a barometer of fame…It is more celebrity focused, no doubt, but the U.K. is a very celebrity savvy place, so our exhibition reflects that.

Madame Tussauds is planning a new exhibition in Hollywood, which will, no doubt, be crammed with the latest celebs.

If Mayer plays this right, he could very well become my hero. Douchebag though he is, he’s supposedly fairly smart - being up close and personal to Maniston, means that consequently, he knows how f*ckin’DUMB she is. Mayer is just creepy enough to have been so obsessed with the ‘brangelina’ (these are the latest inferences any way) that he decided to dip his toe into the shallow pond that is Maniston just to get another degree closer. LOL …and could it be possible, on some fairly even creepier though admirable front (lol, from my standpoint anyway),that he hooked up with her to humiliate the f*ck out of her dumb self-absorbed media wh*ring narcissistic asss, while at the same time enjoying his OWN media wh*ring narcissistic asss to the hilt?? Is it possible that he secretly thought Maniston a bigger douche than he himself is, right from the start?

Lastly, as to the comment that Maniston predictably character assassinates people that she perceives have ‘done her wrong’ - well that is SPOT ON.

I’m an Angelina fan since Gia and a Brad fan since Thelma and Louise. I really have little interest for hating on ANYONE and I will often challenge haters here who go after this family. But mostly I have little interest in slagging Jen (I was a fan of Friends and I have no difficulty understanding why she has many fans from then). Sometimes the comments are funny but many times they’re just as boring as the ones going after Angie and her family. But it takes all kinds to make a group or a family and the comments by themselves are tame compared to the reptilian bile heaped upon Angie and her family. So I’m alright with it. But it’s my observation that at least Angie’s fans seem a little more diverse compared to almost all her haters that read like spewing clones of each other. Don’t generalize. Try reading all the comments.
