OlderJake Gyllenhaal is the Shirtless Prince of Persia
Jake Gyllenhaal channels his inner brute and shows off his newly buff body on the set of his latest movie, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, in Morocco, North Africa on Monday morning.
The 27-year-old actor, who has an entire mane of hair now, held hands with his actress girlfriend Reese Witherspoon. The couple spent the the weekend at the exclusive luxury Moroccan hotel Amanjena. Gyllenspoon grabbed lunch on Saturday at a Moroccan restaurant followed by a tour of the local sights.
In the film, Jake will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Gemma Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

a white guy playing a persian. lol. this will probably represent persia as some damn arab just like the game…americans are clueless about persian culture and history as you can see in that disgraceful movie 300. they still haven’t figured out the difference between arabs and persians….persians hate arabs.

HEO to the NO NO NO NO….please tell me that this movie will be recast, because we all know that there has to at least one real persian out of the 3 or so million of them, that can play the prince of PERSIA!!!.,.,.i protest and im not even persian…eh…hollywood man. Oh and no this man does not look “good” with his shirt off, or with his hair like that…He looks like a grown up dirty version of BAM BAM from the flintstones movie
With the hair, this dude looks absolutely fitting for the role of the prince!!

omigod lol big muther ***** he makes a very convincing prince and they made a mistake in the plot there for one the pricesses name wasn’t tamina it was Fara secondly it wasnt a nobleman who tricked him it was the vizier who tricked him into opening the sands of time for those who didnt kno. but i still see the movie :\

He’s a beautiful man without a doubt (don’t hate) but I have to agree with other posters….he hit his ‘target body type”within the past two years. This “overworked” body type is not flattering on him. However, he got hired to portray a part and likely did exactly what they told him to do (with regard to physical preparation). I have to say, as a big P of P fan that the fault lies with those in charge of maintaining the original look of the character. I couldn’t ever have anything bad to say about the guy…he’s seems very down-to-Earth and good natured. Did I mention that the man is beautiful? LOL-alright, enough is enough.
I think that if there is fault here, with regard to the image which should have been maintained for those loyal Prince of Persia fans, it falls on those responsible for preserving the look of the game’s original look. This is an actor-he does exactly what they tell him to do. I find it hard to believe that the man said “I think I’ll overwork every muscle in my body for the fun of it”. Yes, I agree it’s not a great look for him. He looked PERFECT before, but this is a part in a movie. Whether it be the androgynous looked donned by Hilary Swank for “Boys Don’t Cry” or the ultra-effeminate and anorexic image of Seymour Hoffman in “Capote”, actors ‘dress the part. While this film is unlikely to gain the type of cinematic respect given to those formerly named, I don’t think the man is going for accomplishment here. He was hired to make a movie-that’s what he’s doing. Besides, the guy is funny, witty, and c’mon…absolutely beautiful! He, Witherspoon, and the rest of those criticized daily, are after all, just people at the end of the day. Just a thought.
Iran is an extremely mountainous country. Chosing Morocco is just ridiculous. Turkey,Greek,Lebanon,Israel… everywhere could be a better option than the flat land Morocco lol

I hate that they have him as the prince, don’t get me wrong i like him as an actor but not like this. Plus the prince doesn’t really have a name and the name of the princess is Farah with the Vizier as the bad guy. Movies that originate from games should follow the story line of the game with the characters names. If they don’t want to do that then just make the movie animated and have actual cut scenes from the game.
One more thing the Prince isn’t even that huge with all the muscles. Sure he gets bigger in the other two but not in the first game.

I wish Orlando Bloom agreed to play Prince (*Sigh.*) - he is perfect for that role. Now, one of my favorite games ever and the good idea for making the movie out of it is ruined. As someone already said: that’s just wrong.
That’s so cool! he’s soo jacked for that role and he looks JUST like prince of persia. EXACTLY like the character haha! that’s so rad! was huge fan of that video game. Also so awesome they’re together because resse witherspoon is so cool and jake gyllenhal is so cool.
