Glad to catch you! I’ve been going to do this for some time so here goes with the ring situation:

A lot of people thought Zac and Vanessa were an item for a long time—even after the filmed the first HSM as they were often seen out together at movies, etc. They would always say they were good friends, etc. Then after they filmed HSM2 the famous Hawaiian pictures hit the news much to Zac and Vanessa’s surprise. Zac has said they had no idea that anyone would even care about them so they had no idea anybody was following and taking pictures of them on Maui. When they came back from that vacation they were both wearing these wonderful rings with Hawaiian engraving on them with the translation meaning “sweetheart”. Vanessa’s was yellow gold and Zac was white gold—many called his silver. They wore them on their right hands. At first some ragazines reported they were wedding bands but that was quickly dispelled. The Hawaiian pictures came out before te premiere of HSM2 so they had to deal with all of this when that hit. But they both proudly wore those rings during their premieres in both America and the UK, etc. It was very sweet and they tried to play down their relationship but it was obvious how they felt for each other.

Zac had said when the relationship and the rings first came to public knowledge that he was wearing the ring for a girl but would not say who it was because it would cause teenage pandemonium in chatrooms all over the internet. He later admitted in a German magazine interview that “Yes, we are a couple” but he tried to tell them he did not want to talk about his private life.

Then the great scandal hit over the picture and all these stupid gossip magazines went wild because after HSM2 hit so big both Zac and Vanessa were catapulted into the heavens. Zac and Vanessa were bona fide stars who were being sought after as so many had fallen in love with them from the movie and it seemed they could do no wrong. So the gossip sheets were set to make a lot of money over their pain. They kept writing how Zac had broken up with Vanessa and they made her look bad, etc. The fans, however, found they were moved by this young couple so obviously in love and they held on to their belief these two had more character than they gossip sites were allowing them to have. Everyone got so caught up in those rings because through it all they never were without those rings. So many rumors went on that fans started putting too much emphasis on those rings. It didn’t matter what was going on, these two could have been making out in the middle of the street but if one did not have their ring on then somebody would fret that they had broken up. It was unfair to Zac and Vanessa but to their credit they didn’t seem to live their life according to the clamor of the fans in this situation.

They both were wearing their rings when they went to Palm Springs Film Festival in January as they were so obviously in love and letting the world know it. Then a week later Zac went into the hospital for surgery. He had been filming 17 Again and had not always been wearing his ring due to filming. BUT after he came out of the hospital from that point on, we never again saw that ring. Vanessa, however, would be seen wearing hers most of the time. So, there was question as to if Zac’s ring had been lost during his stay in the hospital—which could easily happen—or perhaps it was lost on the set of 17 Again—which also could have happened. But maybe they got so tired of hearing so much about whether they were wearing their rings that he just stopped.

Now, he is wearing a ring again. Many think it is the same ring. Personally, I don’t think it is. It doesn’t look the same. I will not go into why I don’t think maybe it is—because maybe it is—but due to space and the length of my post I will not go into my reasons for thinking the way I do. Anyway, I think the rings came to be a symbol in many way to the fans and they certainly seemed important to Zac and Vanessa which we all loved as it just said something more about what kind of people they are.

I know a lot of people don’t feel the same about rings. I am one of those people after being married for nearly 25 years have only been without my rings twice—both to have the diamond tightened in my engagement ring. So, actually I have not been without my wedding band. It means a lot to me, it has an importance. I would be no less married without it nor would it make me cheat if I didn’t have it but I tend to be sentimental. I think Vanessa is quite sentimental and that may be why she isn’t without it too often.

Obviously, a lot more people think she CAN sing, CAN act, and is GORGEOUS. Do you people honestly think DIsney would have chosen her from thousands of girls for the role of Gabriella if she couldn’t sing, act, or was ugly????? Come on, give me a break.

And do you think promoters would book her for a concert tour and sell thousands of tickets and produce a CD, if she couldn’t sing???? Gimme another break.

Would all these magazines do gorgeous photo shoots of Vanessa and choose her to be a spokesperson for their products if she was ugly??? Gimme another break…..You just don’t like her for some stupid reason, but you just can not say she has no talent and is ugly. Cause that’s just NOT TRUE.

And you can say it til you’re blue in the face, but you’re just wrong. THere are so many others out there who REALLY have no talent like Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, etc. Go post on their threads, since you just can’t think of anything new to say.

Yup, don’t forget Vanessa was away and came back just in time to meet Zac on the red carpet. If they got any closer, she would have been sitting on his lap and that would have drawn a lot more attention than they would have wanted. Anyway, they look like lovebirds alright.
