Vanessa Hudgens Wakes Up West Virgina
Vanessa Hudgens heats up the stage at the WV State Fair 2008 in Lewisburg, West Virginia on Saturday.
The 19-year-old High School Musical star performed tracks off her sophomore album Identified, in stores now.
Soon, Vanessa will be joining the rest of her HSM castmates to promote the theaterical release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The film opens everywhere on Friday, October 24.

it was vanessa’s former attorney who sued her. that was last september and jj posted about it then. the case was settled out of court.

Starring as John Travolta’s curvaceous daughter in last year’s movie hit Hairspray may have put newcomer Nikki Blonsky on the map, but her entertainment managers want some of her earnings in their bank accounts, according to a just-filed lawsuit.
Margaret Karaszek and Michael Ostrowski, partners in Morgit Management, formally lodged their complaint in New York’s State Supreme Court, claiming that Blonsky, 20, and her mother, Karen Blonsky, breached their contract by not cutting them in for their standard 20 percent of the young star’s overnight success, reports Newsday.
Among Morgit’s claims: Blonsky was “unknown” when she landed the role of Tracy Turnblad; Ostrowski and Karaszek sent a tape of Blonsky to the film’s casting team; and they even drove Blonsky into Manhattan for an audition during a snowstorm.
Blonsky reportedly was selected for the role six months after her contract with the firm expired. Morgit’s attorneys maintain Karen Blonsky verbally agreed to renew the contract for at least two more years.
Blonsky’s attorney declined comment.

and by the way, talking about the venues where she performs, this is the only way you can be near your fans…………we, ordinary people. the reviews in all her concerts are very,very positive…never a dull moment, vanessa and fans are enjoying themselves………..IT IS LOOKING GOOD AND POSITIVE!!!!!!!!! so what is the argument with the haters? just leave her alone, let her do what she loves, let her enjoy life.

Katie got it right, it is Vanessa that is being sued. However, it seems to me this person is out just trying to get some of Vanessa’s hard earned money. He sees she is successful and figures he might as well try to get some of what is hers for himself. Unfortunately for the celebrities—especially the young ones starting out who have become what seems like overnight sensations—there will always be those bloodsuckers.

Yes, there will always be fans and the haters, so true. However, you want us, the fans, to understand you have reasons for hating Vanessa. May I ask what they are? Don’t go with the “she can’t sing” line because whether she is the best singer or the worst singer doesn not constitute a “hate” reason. That would be what you like to hear and what you don’t like to hear. Finding out someone is a child abuser or lying under oath in a court of law which causes someone else to pay a penalty for a crime they didn’t commit, THAT would be a reason for hate. Don’t say you hate her because she is ugly for that would be a lie. She may not be your type and you may find many others who are more attractive to you but she is far from ugly. And anyway, WHO really would HATE someone even if they are as ugly as a mud fence??? What would that say about the person doing the hating? Rather superficial at the very least, I’d say. Is that the way you really want to be perceived? You want us to respect your opinion? If you would say you don’t like her, fine, you don’t have to give a reason. BUT when the haters come on here and use vile and crude remarks that make no sense and expect to be respected for that, well, that is something else again and I would hope you are intelligent enough to understand the difference.

“High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens has been sued for $5 million by her former producer who claims she breached a settlement agreement.
In the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit filed Monday, Johnny Vieira alleges Hudgens fired him shortly after the success of “Musical,” but later negotiated a settlement with him. However, Hudgens’ attorneys failed to file the settlement agreement with the court for approval.
Vieira claims his original contract with Hudgens, dating back to July 5, 2005, is still in force and that she and her label, Hollywood Records, owe him for royalties since then.
Vieira also claims that Hudgens’ father, Greg Hudgens, has defamed him by sending several e-mails to others, including Hudgens’ manager, claiming the producer is a “predator” who preys on young artists.
Hudgens’ reps could not immediately be reached for comment.

I’ve read the court documents and he’s named Greg and Hollywood Records as co-defendants. This could get very interesting.
He’s made some interesting claims, I’ll just wait for V and Hollywood Records’ response.
It would really be interesting if the attorney that ‘failed’ to file the settlement agreement is the same attorney that sued her and if a link could be made between the two men.
In the court documents though, he said V’s people have not responded to his request for evidence that the settlement agreement was filed so he’s assuming that they have not been filed.
Anyhow, at least V is co-defending with HR and their lawyers have the resources to get to the bottom of the matter. I don’t see it affecting her in any way.

Naomi, I agree with Greg Hudgens, there are alot of predators like like said Plaintiff out there. Why did it take him so long to pursue the matter, I wonder. Is it because , Vanessa was not a pot of gold then? Now that she is raking it in and he wants a piece of the action. Greed and an opportunist is all I can see. She was a minor then and if what you suspect is true, then, Vanessa should sue said attorney for not performing his duties in her interest.
