The lawyer that handled the settlement agreement is the lawyer that sued her according to the court documents from Fox news. That means that he deliberately did not file it and waited for some time before alerting the producer that the agreement was not filed.

I’m not attorney but I think that Vanessa may be able to link him to the suit and sue him for gross negligence claiming that to all intents and purposes she assumed he followed her instructions to file the agreement with the courts.

I’m not really worried for her, celebrities go through this often. I’m sure between her team and HR with prayers from her fans, she’ll get through this without a lot of hassle.

It sounds like Vanessa former lawyer is looking for more money. He is claiming that Vanessa’s attorneys didn’t file the settlements papers with court for approval. Will the attorneys didn’t have to seek court’s approval. If Vanessa didn’t have an attorney then she would have need the court’s approval to make sure she understood the agreement. This is civil matter not a criminal case. Vanessa’s attorney and opposing counsel had to notify the court that an agreement was reached . Which the mostly likely did so the case can be remove from the court’s calendar. The court did not have to know details of the agreement just that the two parties resolved their issues.
From my understanding the former lawyer settled the first lawsuit for $100 thousand dollars (more or less). I don’t know the former lawyer’s life story but it could be the he needs large amount of money and decided it would easier to file frivolous lawsuit hoping that Vanessa or Hollywood Records (Disney) would pay him to go away; which they will probably do.
Because paying this guy $250-$350 thousand is nothing compare the money Vanessa and Disney is going to make from HSM3. Also please remember, you have right to file legal papers in civil court but it doesn’t mean your lawsuit has merit.

I do wonder if Disney aka Hollywood Records is in a sense “punishing” Vanessa for all the trouble that has surrounded her.

1. Former attorney suing her (case settled out of court to avoid embarrassment)
2. Full frontal n u d e picture circulating of probably-underage Vanessa
3. Now former manager suing her (probably again V will pay him to go away)

After all, Zac has never been sued, has he? He’s the real gold mine here but he must keep his nose clean and have really good representation.

I get a creepy feeling from Greg Hudgens, can’t put my finger on it, but he just creeps me out. He may have been hiring shady lawyers/agents/producers for V.

Anyway, many of you feel Hollywood Records didn’t stand behind V with their promotion on this new album. Maybe it’s their way of fulfilling their obligation to her but not doing a single thing more and just waiting til they can cut ties with her. Being a kid-oriented company, they need to watch their talent. Miley can get a bit unruly but none of her photos come close to V’s. And talk about a big fish….she’d be the one the lawyers should sue since she is so huge.

Katie, how dare you say such a thing about Greg Hudgens. I have met the family and they are the most kind and caring people I have ever met and will probably ever meet. They are such an incredible family and Greg is such a sweetheart and he loves Vanessa so much that he will do anything to protect, just as a good father should!

I too think the former attorney who sued last and this guy are both taking advantage of her. I hope that this suite will show the failures of the previous attorney she settled with earlier this year. But you know Vanessa and her parents were new in the show business world and people tend to take advantage of them as well because there are a lot of leaches out there trying to hook on to someone with possibility like Vanessa had. So I guess time will tell on all the details. I believe Vanessa will come out okay though - she has proven herself as a fighter and she will survive. I just HATE that she had to go through all of this — she has so much going for her right now and this has got to be a down or a distraction.

I am in agreement with many that this “promoter” more than likely is jealous of her success and is trying to cash in. The timing is right after what:

–she just wrapped HSM3 which will be a huge success world wide
–she just was name Top Female Hottie at KCA
–she was named in several recent magazines in the “Top this and Top that”
–she has had several recent magazine covers and more upcoming
–the ELLE “spread” had really fueled interest in she and Zac
–she announced last week that she was purchasing her first home R 19 years of age
–there has been a lot of buzz recently on the entertainment industry about Rock On or whatever the new movie will be named
–the Sears campaign is “everywhere” these days
–she is in talks for a new movie from a fairly popular book series which if successful could lead to more than one movie being made if it were to going into a series of movies - who knows??

And of course she is on a summer tour for her new album which despite the naysayers, is getting very good reviews everywhere she goes.

I think Johnny is jealous and trying to cash in because Vanessa has been all over the industry news recently and there is a lot of buzz about the upcoming months for her.

I think there are a few people looking for money and thinking they can get it. But I doubt it.

My mom say she thinks it’s funny that all this is happening to the little mixed race girl dating the golden boy (man even my old school white mom is picking up something in all this-that’s deep ) She believes (remember this is a mom from the 40’s) that there are forces at play to break up this pairing and there are trying everything on earth. She says the actual money isn’t the thing the idea is to hurt her rep and make her a liability for the blue-eyed boy.

Okay my mom thinks everyone should live in the neighborhood with folks exactly like them so for her to even think this much less say it is pretty amazing. Maybe she’s right who knows.
