Vanessa Hudgens Sued For $5 Million
High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens is being sued by producer Johnny Vieira for more than $5 million and punitive damages.
In May 2005, Vieira claims he and Vanessa entered into an agreement to launch Vanessa’s career and “share equally” in the profits. But after High School Musical became a hit, he says she dropped him and owes him $2 million.
Vanessa even sent a photo of herself to Viera with this inscription: “Johnny, thank you for everything, without you, I would be no where [sic], we will make it BIG- Vanessa Hudgens. Sweet.” You can see the note at TMZ.

What some of these people fail to see is he is not saying that anybody owes him 5 million he saying something like 70,000 but he thinks maybe more . The bulk of what he his suing for is punitive damages which means first he has to prove the albums made more than he was told, Vanessa knew about it and denied him his money. No judge is going to break someone over punitive damages (which are to set to prevent the actions from re-occurring) He’s just saying some ridiculous figure hoping to get something out of it. Remember in the US you can sue just about anybody for anything but if you don’t have prove you leave yourself open to being sued or ail time for malicious prosecution

she is going through a rough time, and it is best not to make fun of anyone when they are in that position. If you by any chance were in the same position as vanessa is right now, how would you feel if we trashed you and threw insulting comments at you. You might say you won’t care, because your ego is huge, but you would feel hurt. So if you do hate he, it’s best to keep those comments to youself.

It is sad to read the hate posts with their name calling and gloating over what is an unfortunate hiccup in Vanessa’s life. What do you expect from Ignoramuses, I guess.
I just want to highlight that how easy it is to dupe a person into signing a legal document without proper legal advice. Vanessa and her family, bless them, are hard working people from a simple blue collar background. It is very obvious they were ill advised by an unscrupulous lawyer who negligently performed his professional duties and handled by an even unscrupulous producer who wanted more than what he got out of pure greed without regard for her wellbeing. Greg Hudgens is a good man and I support him in wanting to warn others of this predator, something which he needn’t have bothered to do.
The law is supposed to protect the innocent and prosecute the guilty and be just and fair. If this is all about technicality, then the judge should take into consideration that Vanessa was a minor and look beyond the prima facie case. (sorry for using a legal jargon) I feel like this will be a case within a case if her ex- lawyer is found to be negligent. It just came to mind , Christina Milian was sued for a sum for using the plaintiff’s lyrics in her hit song and she in turn sued her producer whom she had signed an agreement with, that the lyrics were original or something like that. No wonder she has been keeping a low profile for a bit.
By the way, I’m still patiently waiting for her Album to reach my shores. Maybe, it could be one of the reasons why her album has not gone overseas yet pending this trial.

Yes I’ve been wondering the same thing, I hope Vanessa will be able to make a claim against the lawyer who caused this. It truly is an unfortunate chain of events but hopefully Vanessa and her family are now much wiser to this business and have hired a reliable legal team to handle this.
It annoys me that Vanessa’s name is being dragged into this and tarnished when it has little if anything to do with her.
And yes, it is sad to read the hate comments but I guess we must accept them and focus our energy as fans on the positive ones. The hate will always be there, it comes with the level of fame Vanessa has. I do truly feel sorry for the individuals who take pleasure in spouting negativity about an individual they do not know. I don’t understand where such malice can come from. Besides I was always taught if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all.
The hate comments only add to her popularity in the long run. We just have to ensure the fans out number them.
I am also still waiting for her album to reach my shores! If it takes much longer I will be forced to buy an import. I already purchased it on iTunes by setting up an American account but I really want to have the actual CD too, call me old fashioned!
