Michael Phelps Wins 8th Gold Medal
EIGHT FOR EIGHT!
Michael Phelps just made history today in the Water Cube at the Beijing Olympics! The 23-year-old swimming champion is the only person ever to win eight gold medals at a single Olympics (surpassing Mark Spitz).
Moments ago, with the help of his team mates in the 4×100 meter medley relay, Phelps secured his eighth medal. Team USA won in a world record time of 3 minutes 29.34 seconds. Australia finished in 3:30.04 and Japan took bronze in 3:31.18.
Congratulations to Phelps and the United States men’s swim team!

All they focus on is swimming. And when they aren’t in the pool, they talk about swimming. Jesus, there are other sports people want to see other than swimming! How about some tennis coverage. And to be fair to the other athletes, most of these sports only allow people to have one chance to get on the podium and win a medal. In swimming you have over 9 chances to get a medal. SO lets put things in perspective here. Congrats to Phelps and Team USA.

I’ve gotten old and bored with a lot of things this year, but Michael Phelps has given me a wonderful jolt of excitement and pride. Hearing more about his personal story (estrangement from his dad, having either ADD or OCD) made me love him even more.

I’m wondering what kind of drugs he and other athlet take since in every race they brake the world record. That’s not normal. But I guess we will never knew since the doping controls can’t find most of the stuff used today. My congrats go to the labs and docs.

Spitz didn’t use drugs during his time so why is it hard to believe that it’s impossible for Michael to create the same success? He voluntarily gets drug tested everyday so there’s no way he’s juicing. In fact, I think he’s part of a program where athletes gets tested every so often.
All in all, Congrats to Michael. I’m in awe of your talents. You deserve it.
