Michael Phelps Wins 8th Gold Medal

EIGHT FOR EIGHT!

Michael Phelps just made history today in the Water Cube at the Beijing Olympics! The 23-year-old swimming champion is the only person ever to win eight gold medals at a single Olympics (surpassing Mark Spitz).

Moments ago, with the help of his team mates in the 4×100 meter medley relay, Phelps secured his eighth medal. Team USA won in a world record time of 3 minutes 29.34 seconds. Australia finished in 3:30.04 and Japan took bronze in 3:31.18.

Congratulations to Phelps and the United States men’s swim team!

As much as I wanted the Aussie team to win the race, it was overshadowed by wanting to see Michael Phelps win his 8th gold medal. That is an amazing feat, the likes of which we probably won’t see again. I think the whole world was behind him!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could have Michael Phelps diet and have no body fat hahahaha

One of his rivals in this Olympics said: Yeap, he is a human being, but he’s probably from another planet. I believe this words by words because he can swim LIKE A FISH. Look at his feet movement. Man, this is out of this world.
