Miley Cyrus: VMAs Best New Artist?
Miley Cyrus enjoys a night out on the town with some friends in Hollywood on Friday.
The 15-year-old Hannah Montana star picked up her first VMA nomination for Best New Artist for “7 Things”. She’s up against her rumored rival, Katy Perry, with this summer’s infectious hit “I Kissed a Girl.” Other nominees include Jordin Sparks (”No Air”), Taylor Swift (”Teardrops on My Guitar”) and Tokio Hotel (”Ready, Set, Go!”). Vote here!
The VMAs will air live from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles and one-time only in its original format on Sunday, September 7, 2008 @ 9PM (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT).

What the hell is up with these terrible nominees? I never expect anything amazing from MTV since it’s gone downhill, but they usually have a few odd nice nominees, but they are absolutely horrible and if you think otherwise, you truly need to get some decent taste in music.
Katy Perry is the best out of a terrible bunch and why the hell is Tokio Hotel in this line up? They’ve been together since 2001…?

Ok. These arent even really new artist!! hasnt katy perry been around for a while but only just been noticed cuz of ‘i kissed a girl’. miley isint a new artist, tokio hotel has actually been aound for YEARS and taylor swift has been around a couple of years.
Jordin Sparks cd came out less than a year ago, so shes really the only one who qualifies!

Ugh Taylor Swift is irritating with the all “country” and same stupid hairstyle, Miley is obnoxious and Kate Perry is a tacky, devoid of talent self obsessed idiot. No idea who this Tokio Hotel is or where they suddenly came from. That leaves Jordin but she’s not all that great either. Well I guess it’s fitting that this awards show is complete sh it.
