OlderJohn Mayer Spills Jennifer Aniston Break-Up Details
John Mayer stood up for his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as he spoke to a group of photographers after working out at Equinox Gym in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Here’s what the 30-year-old musician, who appeared emotional, nervous and sad, had to say to TMZ:
On why he broke up with Jen: “People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.”
On his breakup being completely normal: “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting. But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
On setting the record clear about Jen: “If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody. Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.”
On why relationships generally end: “You’re either a cheater or you breakup. And I’m not the first. I’m the second one. And that’s it. There’s no lying, there’s no bulls—, I just don’t want to be followed around New York City like an animal.”
On singing the praises of Aniston: “She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.”

Here is a gentleman. He knows how to break up without leaving wrong impressions about the lady he’s been with. Brad was too busy with his new love to turn back and make the same effort.

That’s what you call gentleman?? John made it known 3x in that interview that he dumped X. However, can’t blame him, X’s camp made some insinuations first that put him in a bad light. It was necessary for him to sacrifice chivalry to set the record straight. Regarding Brad, he was even too much of a gentleman to a fault by keeping his silence, despite him (also Angie & family) were already constantly crucified in the media. Brad’s too much of a gentleman that he didn’t say bad things about X but he didn’t think he need to lie by singing praises praises on X. That’s too much. He only issued “civilized” statements about X. There was no need to patronize X.

“broken hearted” my foot. It was all for PR. There was no love in that hook up. They both needed to be in the media, but I must say she picked the wrong guy. Well, she must be desperate for her to go along with the PR scheme. Did you see how fast she hung on to him in the pool? You don’t behave that way when it’s true love. Yeah, that pool photo op she was draped all over him and he just seemed like she was a towel. when she trailed him overseas to his concert i saw video of him just walking past her and she TROTTING to reach him and hold his hand. and i read about him saying onstage that he is dating someone and feel PRESSURED to be responsible for that person’s HAPPINESS??? no wonder he bailed!!

Just go to People.com, you’ll see the 3 articles chronicling Jen and John’s breakup and aftermath. First article said they broke up. Second one said how great she looks after the breakup. Third one about what John said to reporters. No broken heart.
mywishforallyoufans, why would any of us care? Its not like Angelina is a bed-hopping s.l.u.t like Jen. Angelina hasn’t broken up any home (despite the fact that its impossible to do) nor have any married men have affairs with her, so why would you think she would start now? I think you should look at Jen for that behavior. She is the slimy bed-hopping public ******** *****. To Stop blaming Jen, it is amazing what a selective memory you have. You talk about Angie not caring about her dad, What about your idol who cut her mother off her life because of something that happened more than three decades ago. Doesn’t this show she is a vindictive and heartless person. If you cannot forgive a woman who carried you for 9ths and gave birth to you for something that happened in your childhood, what does that say of you as a person? This is where all her problems started. Until she can make peace with her mother bad karma will continue to follow her. And do your research, Angie and her mother were very very close. The whole world knew this but you. You cannot trap a man unless he wants to be trapped, I thought JM was an example of this. If a man can be trapped JA would have with JM, with all her money and the attention she lavished on him she still couldn’t keep him, unless there is something wrong with her personality. Brad may look like a buffoon (personally, i don’t think he is) or else you lots won’t be mentioning him everytime JA’s relationship fails) but the fact is that he was with her for over 5yrs and she never appreciated him, belittled him at every opportunity and the one thing he wanted as he reached 44 (children) she failed to fulfil that need for him. If someone else can give him all that in less than 3yrs while your idol failed after more than 5yrs, who would you say love him more or if you were in his shoes who would you want to be with? Something for you to chew on!
Angie saw the good in Brad that your idol failed to notice and acknowledge, you shouldn’t go on blaming Brad for channeling his love to someone who appreciates him and accepts him with all his failings and inadequacies.
