OlderJohn Mayer Spills Jennifer Aniston Break-Up Details
John Mayer stood up for his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as he spoke to a group of photographers after working out at Equinox Gym in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Here’s what the 30-year-old musician, who appeared emotional, nervous and sad, had to say to TMZ:
On why he broke up with Jen: “People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.”
On his breakup being completely normal: “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting. But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
On setting the record clear about Jen: “If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody. Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.”
On why relationships generally end: “You’re either a cheater or you breakup. And I’m not the first. I’m the second one. And that’s it. There’s no lying, there’s no bulls—, I just don’t want to be followed around New York City like an animal.”
On singing the praises of Aniston: “She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.”

Sounds like another lame immature boy excuse for not wanting to make a commitment to the person he’s sleeping with. They were together, what, two to three months? That’s not a relationship, that’s a prolonged hook-up.
Poor Jennifer. She’ll never get back all those hours she spent this summer acting like John Mayer’s No. 1 groupie.

John grates on my nerves like Denise Richardson!! Somehow I knew he would hog out the media with a whiny story…. Jennifer can really pick them… John said he likes ” to be alone “. At this rate both he AND Jen are headed in that direction. I guess turnstiles at their bedroom doors are the best option after all.
Relationships are hard to us, the outsiders, to judge. If both of them or even one of them knew that it was not going anyway, isn’t it better to end early? Jennifer will find Mr. Right one day. Best wish for her.

I’m glad that he stuck up for Jennifer. She deserves a really awesome dude. I hope she does find one in the future.

Wow Peeboy stood up for Whiny Jen after he kicked her to the curb. I thought she had Huvane for that. It is a good thing she had frequent flier miles, groupie tours are not cheap. Nothing says moving on, then an old picture of Jen before the face over-haul. The pay must be good.
