OlderJohn Mayer Spills Jennifer Aniston Break-Up Details
John Mayer stood up for his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as he spoke to a group of photographers after working out at Equinox Gym in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Here’s what the 30-year-old musician, who appeared emotional, nervous and sad, had to say to TMZ:
On why he broke up with Jen: “People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.”
On his breakup being completely normal: “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting. But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
On setting the record clear about Jen: “If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody. Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.”
On why relationships generally end: “You’re either a cheater or you breakup. And I’m not the first. I’m the second one. And that’s it. There’s no lying, there’s no bulls—, I just don’t want to be followed around New York City like an animal.”
On singing the praises of Aniston: “She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.”

I think Jake is a right person and their relationship looks real.
She didn’t use the media to hype her relationship with Jake.

Jen is the one who spoke first through the famous “sources.” She said she dumped; he is saying he dumped. Wastes her time … guess she is trying to find someone permanently. Grow up Jen, and quit acting like a young 20-year-old. Always tanning, always working on her body, completely obsessed with herself. I find myself happiest when my attention is completely on something besides myself.

The A-hole’s ego couldn’t take it so he counters by standing in from of a camera to set the record straight - Now the world knows JOHN MAYER DUMPED JENNIFER ANISTON after she made a fool of herself, following him around all summer like a teen in her first love affair.

You sound so much like your buddy idol. Blame everyone except herself.! This is the reason why this almost 40 y.o woman can’t find a long lasting relation.
She’s super rich and if she is like what the media or her fans told us she is quite a good catch, why can’t man stick with her??? Whoever thought Brad was the longest relation she had in her entire 40 year of life . Other actresses at her age have mostly settle down with family, and she still act like Paris Hlton, Lohan, hooking up from one guy to another. If she like her fans refuse to see her own shortcoming, the date-slept together for a few months-dump will continue..

Jennifer Aniston’s pals were rolling their eyes over the weekend about John Mayer’s unofficial press conferences discussing the couple’s breakup.
“Jen will never kiss and tell, but it’s she who ended the relationship,” a source close to Jen says. “(Mayer’s) childish behavior only confirms she was right to dump him. Now he’s acting like a spoiled child. Expect Jen to behave like a lady.”
Mayer first explained his version of the breakup to an OK! magazine reporter, who quickly posted online that Mayer did the dumping. “I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right,” Mayer told the reporter.
Yet Aniston’s pal says the something that “wasn’t right” was Mayer’s behavior toward the press during the relationship. “He has a relationship with certain paparazzi (and) bloggers,” the source said. “He tips them off. He loves the attention. Jen didn’t want to believe it was happening, but it was, and she has no tolerance for that.”
Another issue: Money. “Jen was tired of paying for everything,” said another source close to Aniston. “Cobwebs come flying out of (Mayer’s) wallet when he opens it. John liked living like a movie star when he was with her. … Jen would never say anything, but you could tell it irritated her.”
The sources close to Aniston say she isn’t going to make a statement about her relationship, despite their hunch that Mayer will continue to talk about it. “We’re talking about a guy who had a car waiting to take him home in New York, but he chose to walk so he could talk to the press (along the way). He’ll drag this out until there’s someone new,” says the source.

Treated unfairly by whom? Please don’t say by Angelina. Angelina didn’t break up her marriage; Brad broke up their marriage. Angelina had nothing to do with it.
Was she treated unfairly by Brad? Aniston herself in her Vogue interview in 2006 said that by 2004 the marriage was basically dead. So why should Brad stay in a loveless, childless marriage?
Aniston created her own pity party and kept it going for three years. Brad generously let himself be cast as the villain of the piece, seeing as it was he who left her and not the other way around. Again, who was unfair to whom?
I’ll tell you in a nutshell what Aniston’s problem is: Brad moved on to another woman before she was ready to let him move on. Once again, it’s all about her.

Erika, if I made $27 million a year; had the body of a 20-year-old; the admiration of most of Hollywood and the rest of the country; I would be by a pool somewhere, relaxing, and enjoying life instead of working 8 hours a day in an office with no windows and not having enough time to take care of myself. We should all take care of ourselves the way she does. Sure, she shouldn’t smoke, but then again, no one should.
And why all the crap about finding someone. You do not need someone to make you happy. Before saying Jen Aniston needs to grow up, maybe you should take your own advice. Being grown up means you can take care of yourself in every way; financially, emotionally, etc.

I have lost all respect for John Mayer. For someone who is fluent in Japanese, he really knows how to open his immature, egotistical English speaking mouth. He feels the need to “set the record straight” and discuss his personal life with strangers, to let everyone “know” he didn’t cheat, he ended it with her. He could behave like a gentleman and ignore the press and keep his life private, (and hers), but his ego and need for attention will not allow it. He thinks paying Jennifer compliments will overshadow his rude outrageous behavior, because his ego is larger than his brain. Women beware, this guy is a CAD and bad news as a man and as a friend. He would stab anyone in the back in order to make himself look good. He only cares about himself.

Interesting, Poor Jen. Jennifer does not want to “kiss and tell,” yet she goes on to explain much about the relationship. What a funny, back-handed, exploitative ploy. As far as John “using the press,” Jen does the same thing. The pics of her in her bikinis, walking around lately with a huge smile on her face, several pics of her with a script in her hand (presumably to let the world know she is a busy actress/producer). Please, they are both using the press.
The only pic I think she would disapprove of her was the candid shot with John in which she was holding a cigarette, a habit she wants to hide from the world.
