OlderJohn Mayer Spills Jennifer Aniston Break-Up Details
John Mayer stood up for his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as he spoke to a group of photographers after working out at Equinox Gym in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Here’s what the 30-year-old musician, who appeared emotional, nervous and sad, had to say to TMZ:
On why he broke up with Jen: “People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.”
On his breakup being completely normal: “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting. But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
On setting the record clear about Jen: “If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody. Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.”
On why relationships generally end: “You’re either a cheater or you breakup. And I’m not the first. I’m the second one. And that’s it. There’s no lying, there’s no bulls—, I just don’t want to be followed around New York City like an animal.”
On singing the praises of Aniston: “She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.”

Absolutely I blame Jen and I will keep on blaming Jen until she finally grows up and takes some responsibility for her life. She’s no teenager any more; she is going on 40 and she has the emotional maturity of a four-year-old. Everything that happens to her is somebody else’s fault. She went into this relationship with her eyes (not to mention her legs) wide open and she has no business whining now that it’s reached its inevitable conclusion.
Thank Goodness John dumped this sorry old has been.John needs someone young not someone with all that plastic.You could tell she got on John’s nerves.John is no Gigolo,he has his own money.He don’t have to kiss ass to some old woman trying to get REVENGE on x husband and family.Who x husband and family don’t give a thought to this woman.John get someone your age,even Jessica was better than this old woman.

I dont think he would have said anything if her “friends” hadn’t come out last week and said she dumped him. He saw what they tried to do to Brad, and he is not going to allow them to do it to him also.

I agree. im not a mayer fan, but I noticed almost every point he made was in direct opposition to what jen’s friends say in US Weekly. You can bet Mayer read that magazine and was not at all pleased with the way he was portrayed. (not to mention the newspaper reports)
Jen’s camp probably thought Mayer would be like Pitt and not try to counter all the lies.
And another thing, i dont think it was his idea to have her follow him around on his tour. I remember they stayed in separate hotels in Holland. It seems that for John it was a fling, but X started taking it too seriously. You just have to read her recent Hello interview to see she was thinking long-term with him. That must have scared him s**tless.

Aniston’s pals were rolling their eyes over the weekend about John Mayer’s unofficial press conferences discussing the couple’s breakup.
“Jen will never kiss and tell, but it’s she who ended the relationship,” a source close to Jen says. “(Mayer’s) childish behavior only confirms she was right to dump him. Now he’s acting like a spoiled child. Expect Jen to behave like a lady.”
Mayer first explained his version of the breakup to an OK! magazine reporter, who quickly posted online that Mayer did the dumping. “I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right,” Mayer told the reporter.
Yet Aniston’s pal says the something that “wasn’t right” was Mayer’s behavior toward the press during the relationship. “He has a relationship with certain paparazzi (and) bloggers,” the source said. “He tips them off. He loves the attention. Jen didn’t want to believe it was happening, but it was, and she has no tolerance for that.”
Another issue: Money. “Jen was tired of paying for everything,” said another source close to Aniston. “Cobwebs come flying out of (Mayer’s) wallet when he opens it. John liked living like a movie star when he was with her. … Jen would never say anything, but you could tell it irritated her.”
The sources close to Aniston say she isn’t going to make a statement about her relationship, despite their hunch that Mayer will continue to talk about it. “We’re talking about a guy who had a car waiting to take him home in New York, but he chose to walk so he could talk to the press (along the way). He’ll drag this out until there’s someone new,” says the source.

He was painted as a cheater who was dumped by his elder, more sophisticated lover . He had every right to gave his side of the story after those allegations !
She is 10 years older than him, she is responsible for every choice she makes or that i make in her name.
If she was so classy, she would have come out quickly denying the fact that he cheated on her and that it was their private business to handle the break up. By letting her PR do her dirty laundry (like always) and painting badly the man she threw herself to not long ago, she gave the other party, the objective right to retaliate.
She is dumb, no matter what Mayer says about her so called smartness. Ain’t no 40 year old smart woman who would have deliberatily go out with him in the first place, then trying to spin the reality and taint him unfavourably, knowing his bad mouthing rep and thinking that she could get away with it.
Now, she is looking like a liar, a manipulator more pathetic than never while John had already that rep and has his youth and immaturity as an excuse.

I ‘ve come to the conclusion that Aniston is dumber than dumb. John Mayer? What was she thinking. She had to know that any relationship with him would come to no good. She’s left looking more of a fool than was before. Even IF this was some publicity stunt it’s not pretty.
We could be witnessing Aniston having a slow meltdown. I hope not, the press would have a field day with digging up every past relationship that spiraled her into the pit of depression and madness. It’ll be like some Twilight Zone thing . She’ll end up in someone’s back yard chewing the lawn and talking to bugs. Oops,sorry, I got carried away. lol.

Or another scintillating Oprah show (when she has nothing to pitch) where she can once again show how strong and brave she is..and talk about things like puppies and rainbows.

. He feels the need to “set the record straight” and discuss his personal life with strangers, to let everyone “know” he didn’t cheat, he ended it with her. He could behave like a gentleman and ignore the press and keep his life private, (and hers)

And then he will give a few interviews of his own, and Aniston will wish she had kept her mouth shut. He will tell everybody he dumped her because she was lousy in bed or something like that. This guy will have no problem whatever about getting down and dirty if she starts trashing him in public. She should have stayed the hell away from him. Too late now.

Thank you Jared for the way you broke this down for us. John was trying to be truthful and kind and it comes across that way here. Some other websites are trying to focus on the negative and be nasty about it and that is not at all what John intended, IMO.

I wonder if thats code for, I was sick and tired of being stalked by Jen who was acting like a possessive groupie? We all know that this abusive low-life ice-cold and cruel Jen is known as being needy, demanding, selfish and possessive; and lets not forget many on here talking about her carrying on like a stalking groupie. Perhaps those on here who called this ***** out for her stalking behavior had it right all along?
Jennifer has only herself to blame.
She threw herself with no hesitation to Johnny. She followed him everywhere. She was even caught contortionning herself in the car while ma-sturbating his p-enis.
I have no sympathy for her demise. John did the right thing : clearing his name after they both used each other and after jen’s side decided to taint him with those nasty allegations so that she could still save her so called virgin rep.
Too bad Jen, you are 40 and have been doing this for some years now. You are definitely not innocent. You just got what you deserve and Mayer has every right to make sure you get rightfully your SHARE of blame in this story.
