OlderJohn Mayer Spills Jennifer Aniston Break-Up Details
John Mayer stood up for his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston as he spoke to a group of photographers after working out at Equinox Gym in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Here’s what the 30-year-old musician, who appeared emotional, nervous and sad, had to say to TMZ:
On why he broke up with Jen: “People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.”
On his breakup being completely normal: “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting. But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
On setting the record clear about Jen: “If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody. Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.”
On why relationships generally end: “You’re either a cheater or you breakup. And I’m not the first. I’m the second one. And that’s it. There’s no lying, there’s no bulls—, I just don’t want to be followed around New York City like an animal.”
On singing the praises of Aniston: “She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.”

Exactly!!!! The woman has dated a lot in her lifetime, she should know by now when something isn’t right to end things. She thought she was doing all the paying? Then WHY NOT SAY SOMETHING? SHE ISN’T 13, AFRAID OF LOSING A BOYFRIEND.

Well, I never heard of him, before she started dating him. And I am not a big fan of her.. But in this case. He is the idiot one.. I fell sorry for her for not finding the right person, tough.
I didn’t expect them to get married but knew it would end sooner than later when he hosted TMZ a few weeks back and implied he would get into trouble if he wished her ex and his new family well on the birth of their kids.
Let’s keep it funky…it has been well chronicled of his love of media attention and kinky behavior with the women he’s dated or hooked up with the past few years. He has dated a string of famous actresses and made a boatload of off the wall comments in interviews and on his blog, including give Brad Pitt a cyber high five on how lucky he was to be with Angelina. Knowing ALL that and following the press as much as it is believed Jennifer (or her people) do, why would she be silly enough to date him? He is behaving the same way he has in all of his previous relationships/break ups. For that reason, I don’t feel sorry for either of them.
And why would Jennifer need to actually ‘talk’? Her friends and PR seem to do enough of that for her…I’m almost positive the more they do, the more John will. It’s bound to get even more entertaining if that turns out to be the case.
BRAD NEVER LIED..HE WAS ALWAYS HONEST..PEOPLE JUST PREFERRED TO BELIEVE THE MORE SALACIOUS AND FALSE STORY.

It’s interesting. This being the fourth break-up in the last two years… but who’s counting. Three years ago she so emphatically stated how her faith in marriage remained strong, and that in five years ( 1 and a half from now) she hoped to be married with a child.
However, her choices in men seem random at best. Now, there may be a method to the madness. Being hooked up with Brad may have also been random, but also fortuitous. And being open to the possibility of a real relationship and not closing the door based on age, income-level, etc. is realistic and smart.
She has every right to take her time finding a mate. It’s difficult. Particulary so when your personal life is fodder for tabloids and media outlets. That being said, it’s becoming sad. Divorce is something that happens to millions of women across the spectrum. Which is to say that it doesn’t have to be impossible to overcome.
People seem to root for her happiness, and hope that she has a ‘happily ever after’ ending. Well, she very well may. But it doesn’t mean it will come in the form of marriage & kids. Even if she herself places a premium on that. I just wish the focus wasn’t so much on herself. The yoga mat can’t hug back.
Seriously though, she dealt with a very public divorce and the very public development of her ex’s current relationship. That’s a hard pill to swallow. For anyone. But having a focus outside of herself would seem to be beneficial.

If Johnny Peegood’s idea of STANDING UP for his ex is PUBLICLY declaring to the world that YOU had dumped Jennifer and would rather be ALONE than be with her, then my guess is that Huvane would rather he SIT DOWN or better still, curl up in the corner facing the wall and SHUT UP.

I have never read one of these message boards before, always thought they were a bit strange - now I find I was correct.
My friend’s 14 year old daughter was sitting at her laptop laughing for such a long time, her mother and I came over to see what was so funny.
Now I can’t stop laughing, even though it is all so pathetic. Not about Jen or John or Brad or Angelina or whoever else you guys talk about. What is pathetic is YOU people posting your insane comments here.
To begin, half of you can not spell simple words correctly. Obviously your time would be better spent in school and doing your homework.
Second, who gives a rat’s behind about these people!? That you would waste your time reading this stuff and writing all these opinions full of so much hatred and bitterness - WOW - you really need to turn off the computer and go get a life of your own.
Who cares who dumped whom, how does that impact your life in the slightest bit?
I do not understand this entire ‘fan’ mentality at all. Actors are people that do a job and get paid well to do it, period. They are not ’stars’, and they are only celebrities due to nut cases like you that give them all of this time and attention.
There are so many real isues facing our world that require and deserve our attention. But nope, you sit here and write BS about people and situations of which you have no facts, just assumptions and opinions.

Usually, I am indifferent to Jennifer, but she doesn’t deserve this from such a d*o*u*c*h*e. I don’t find it very manly of him to want the world to know that he was the one who broke it off with Jen. So if John is broke as Aniston’s camp is alluding, did she go on tour with him to give him his allowance? Why can’t she breakup with someone and issue a statement that’s complimentary to her exes as they have done for her? Why does she feel the need (to borrow Lainey’s term) to be so low-classy? She had her friends calling John childish, yet her behavior is far from being an adult.
This is no ones fault, again siht happens, I will never believe jen does this for attention,she has moved on. I really don’t know why brad and jen broke up b/c i absolutely don’t them at all…. Things just happen you fall out of love. Theres 1st an attraction then it lust then its children for some. Jen doesn’t need a man, she a beautiful caring woman as i see it. When you really love you will be so happy with a man of your dreams you’ll just know . I also wish everyone happiness with there love life, In today’s time it seems difficult for anyone to stay together.
