Michelle Williams & Spike Jonze Step Out
Director Spike Jonze keeps his arm wrapped around actress girlfriend Michelle Williams after a romantic dinner in Brooklyn on Saturday. The couple was also spotted getting cozy together in L.A. earlier this month.
Michelle, 27, and Spike, 38, met when Michelle auditioned for Where the Wild Things Are, which Spike directed. Jonze recently produced the actress’ upcoming film Synecdoche, New York.
Jonze, who was last romantically linked to Drew Barrymore, was previously married to fellow filmmaker Sofia Coppola — they called it quits in 2003.

She’s so cute and an excellent actress, too. It’s good to see that the majority agree that it’s good that she’s moved on. She did split with Heath Ledger nearly a year ago (late August). It’s not as if they were a couple when he died.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? They split in 2003, the same time the film was released, it had nothing to do with Lost in Translation. I also never saw any undertones suggesting Jonze was a bad husband?
1) Michelle Williams split from heath ledger months before he died because of his partying and drug habits, which would undoubtly affect their child.

3) If she didn’t cover her face, this photo will be on all the tabloid magazine covers come next week, so it was a good idea to cover her face.

She has every right to date and anyway they broke up almost a year before his death. But she’s a ***** who thinks so much of herself. Honey if you weren’t Heath Ledger’s baby momma nobody would care about your ass.
ahh… yes, “lost in translation” is a big slap in the face to spike. they were together when she was making the film, and even if they were not, the character is still based on him. and the dumb blonde character was based on cameron diaz, who comes across as a crass, stupid actress.
i think it’s great that michelle is moving on, i just don’t know if i trust spike. he seems like an opportunist. he dated sofia, married her, i don’t think her last name hurt and now off of all of the publicity of heath. i don’t know, maybe there’s nothing there, but i think he is attracted to a type of fame that certain women bring.
I’m not a fan of her. There was something about her I didn’t care for when she was WITH Heath, and I never thought they would last. I mean OK. She did Dawson’s Creek. But she wasn’t in the same league with Heath. Who really heard of her so much before she went with him? Once she lines up picture jobs with Hugh Jackman and then Martin Scorcese and Leo, they break-up. Right this minute I am thrilled to pieces that Matilda is here, but when she came up pregnant in this day and age, I got very suspicious of her. Then she keeps Matilda in Sweden for Christmas and he goes to Australia, from here in London. Why didn’t she let him be with his baby for Christmas? It’s not so far at all from London to Sweden. He could have stayed in a different hotel just to spend time with Matilda.
We talk about Heath being bad, and I’m sure he was a handful, but I don’t think she is a prize either. Not at all. I find all the “Poor Michelle” stuff rubbish. I hope sweet Matilda isn’t subject to lots of different “uncles” as she is growing up. That child needs a happy, kind person who is there for her. Michelle better be thinking of this baby she got and not only herself. Spike sounds like he has made the rounds.

Actually, I would care about Michelle if it weren’t for Ledger’s death. She’s a talented actress. Who are you to say that she cares about only herself? She has a daughter and seems to devote a lot of time to her.

Are you insinuating that Michelle only got movie offers because of Heath’s death? *****, please! Not only was she cast AFTER she broke up with Heath Ledger, she has been around longer than Heath Ledger and has made better films than Heath Ledger.
I loved Heath Ledger, but it was only recently that he got great film roles post-Brokeback Mountain. Before that he had A Knight’s Tale, The Sin Eater, The Four Feathers and Ned Kelly. They weren’t very good. Granted he was in 10 Things… and Monster’s Ball, but in no way did Michelle suddenly just get noticed because she was with Heath. Ever heard of the little show Dawson’s Creek, too?

gosh i did like her at the time she was on dawson creek…… and i never really heard of her until she was with heath…and i gotta admit it, personally i could never, ever move on after a man like heath O.O good for her, i think she shouldn’t live in the past, thats not good at all. Moving on is the only way out so….good for her. but heath was definitely the best……maybe imitated but NEVER DUPLICATED

stop judging someone you don’t know — you don’t know her, you didn’t know heath, you didn’t know anything about their relationship, you don’t know what she went through after his death, and you don’t know anything about her and anyone new she might be connected with.
stop deciding for michelle what she should be doing, if she was too good for heath, if she got movie roles because of him — instead, why don’t you focus on your OWN pathetic ******* lives, okay?
even if michelle wasn’t in the “same league” as far as movie roles and acting went, that DOES NOT MEAN ON ANY GROUNDS that he couldn’t date her. he can date WHOEVER he wants — a doctor, a salesclerk, a singer — she doesn’t have to be some top-notch actress, and personally i liked seeing him with someone not just because of status and name.
but when you talk about something you know NOTHING about, it just makes you look stupid, so i’d suggest just keeping your mouths shut if you don’t have anything worthwhile to say.

People who actually care to go to movies others than the blockbusters.I took notice of her in the indie flick **** (and was not alone) way before she met Ledger.A small guy in the business called Wim Wenders obviously heard of her too since he gave her a difficult and touching role in Land of Plenty.

All you Heath lovers need to get a grip. She was the love of his life, no one else ever mattered to him as much as she did. And you don’t “trap” a guy with pregnancy anymore, either — Heath was ECSTATIC to be a daddy. All of you are so enamored of a drug addict that you aren’t thinking realistically.
Heath’s parents knew that Heath had done her wrong and were still very friendly with Michelle after the breakup. Obviously, she still loved him but his drug use was out of control and his mood swings were no good for Matilda.
Good for her to be out and about. Her talent has shown and her lack of desire for the tabloid fame of some, her refusal to speak about Heath and exploit his misfortunes, her private life being kept private — this all speaks well of her. I’ve not been a fan, but she carries herself with class.
Also, she covers her face because the flashbulbs are difficult to see through. Obviously, you people have never been near all those photogs and don’t know what it’s like. It’s a natural reaction to shield the eyes.
