Suri Cruise: Central Park Takeover!
Katie Holmes takes a break from Broadway rehearsals and plays with daughter Suri, 2, at a playground in New York City’s Central Park on Sunday afternoon.
Per usual, Suri drank from her baby bottle. But how cute are all of her facial expressions?!
After leaving their hotel, on their way to the park, Katie, 29, carried around Suri’s stuffed animal of Celeste–Babar the Elephant’s wife and the queen of the realm.

Something’s wrong–not just here, but in so many other photos, too.
Emotionally detached child, apparently clueless or depressed mother.
As a medical professional with 5 kids, there’s no way I’d spend park
time with them, without sharing laughs and smiles. Spontaneity is
missing here, as well as structure in that poor child’s life. If Katie clams up for the paps–and believe me, that attitude has to affect Suri in a negative manner–then she shouldn’t make such a PR prop of the
toddler. Arrange play groups, in lieu of carting her out to late night dinners with adult celebs, where intrusive photog flashes are
(hopefully?) bound to occur–& guaranteed to frighten and confuse an already over-tired, solitary child. Boost her 2 1/2 yr. old skills to fit in with–if she’s lucky–other kids her age: Put on sneakers, so she can run (walk?) around more–not to mention, avoid the broken glass and needles in Central Park; change her diaper in the privacy of the SUV, so she can help with her own pull-ups, til potty trained (and teach her to tell when it’s wet, so she doesn’t soil the swing & slide for others! (Did Katie go down or clean after her? Bet not. How crass); introduce sippy cups, to encourage her she’s no longer a baby, but a growing child, making forward strides. What’s with the over-protection act (key word?) I can only guess. But continually carting Suri around at all hours like a mini-me trophy, exposing her to gawkers, alienating her from little pals (i.e. healthy fun & sharing know-how), plus treating her younger than her years, is harmful to her emotional development. TomKat really needs a course in Parenting 101: There’s more to it than designer duds and photops. They don’t do this with Bella and Connor (Why, because Tom wouldn’t look like so “young” or because it’s a term in the Kidman divorce?) Suri’s way more impressionable. But does TomKat care? Obviously not enough.
Susan, I agree with you totaly.. People are always saying that its the paps fault that Suri is so unsettled. But, Tom & Katie could control that by minimizing her exposure.
I noticed in a couple of the pictures Katie was changing her diaper while holding a blanket around Suri. She was outside in a corner of the park. Why not take her back to the SUV TO Change her diaper?
There are other major stars that go all over the place in privacy. I think that Cruise’s publicist notifies the paps where they are, because Tom and Katie want people to see that Suri lives a normal life.
Her life will NEVER be normal. And the way that she is going right now she will become a major problem for her parents!
Watching her at the park interacting with other children is non-existant. She looks at other children with distaste.

Ahhh the poor kid looks miserable. Every picture I have ever seen she’s just staring into space…there’s no life in that poor kiddo. I’m a preschool teacher…really, kids like to smile.
Why is it still in a pissy diaper?
