Gossip Girl Enrolls At Columbia University
The cast of Gossip Girl takes over New York City Ivy League school, Columbia University, to film scenes for the upcoming season of their hit CW drama on Monday afternoon.
If you want to stalk Leighton Meester, Blake Lively and Ed Westwick, they’re filming outside Lewisohn Hall and Earl Hall (on Broadway, north of 116th Street and west of Low Library). Filming will continue at “a bar on Amsterdam” later today, according to Bwog.
SPOILER ALERT: It looks like Chuck Bass (Westwick) must endure some sort of fraternity hazing process. Fellow castmates were seen bagging his head! BTW, they’re filming at Columbia but they’re really “at Yale”.

Leighton is starting to annoy me. To think she was actually my favorite. I understand not wanting to be surrounded by paps all the time. But she’s walking in friggin NYC on a highly publicized show and she’s covering her face? What as if we couldn’t tell its her? WTF. You’re not all that. She’s getting more attention from the fact that she’s trying to cover up. FYI Leighton this is part of your job. You did sign up for this.
I would boycott but it’s really Columbia’s fault. They’re so pretentious they don’t let most scripts use their name so there aren’t negative associations with the school. They are more than happy to let them use the school grounds though, just leave the name out.

lets be reasonable- it’s not like Leighton is giving the finger to the camera or anything, she’s just turned away as she is entitled to.
another thing, paps weren’t allowed onto Columbia’s grounds at the time of the shooting. So the cast are entitled to be annoyed that the paps were still trespassing there.
it was hardly a situation of being in the middle of the city, they were on private grounds.

Leighton should have expected it.. she acts like shes all high & everything, that she has to hide her face and all.. its pointless on HER account. more then half my friends dont even know who she is. unlike blake lively.
well, all of MY friends know Leighton and prefer her to Blake, so I don’t think that’s a valid point.
And word, the paps were barred from columbia’s campus. and yet they showed up anyway. I was pretty pissed when I saw them, why shouldn’t Leighton be?

Boycott Gossip Girl until they change the script from Yale to Columbia!!
Yes, they *allowed* Spiderman I and II to use the Columbia name. But that’s very rare. Most times they don’t even bother to review the script before saying no. It’s weird but this sensitivity over the use of its name and negative portrayals might have something to do with the riot in 1968.
