No, the “sick” comments are from the fact that she went too far by insulting their children. Your problem is that you bewilderingly take the word of Roseanne as fact as to what the Jolie Pitts earn and what they donate. Why in the world would an intelligent person look for facts in an ill thought out screed. Why would you even think that Roseanne would know these figures. She clearly hasn’t even bothered to Google - not that a search would give her a definitive answer.

It’s been reported on tax forms that the JPs gave up $8 million in one year alone for the use by just one of their charitable foundations alone. No one outside a small number of people knows how much they make or actually take home.

Voight’s point about the child abuse is that Roseanne’s “recovered memory” accusations were refuted by her parents and by her sister. His point is that she is a liar and she lies and makes outrageous claims to get attention and for publicity. Her accusations against her parents may just be unforgivable.

I think that Voight handled this the right way by deflating the attacker and pointing out why she should not be believed. That certainly was in defense of his daugter and her family as well as his candidate.

Angie wants the troops to stay in Iraq, not to fight, but to help refugees come back home and resettle in their country. There are about four million Iraqi refugee and displaced people, now mainly in Syria and Jordan. The invasion caused/made the refugees.
I think it’s totally reasonable to expect the troops to fix what they have caused, the destruction of Iraq’s infrastructure and people fleeing to other countries.
Secondly, as UNHCR goodwill ambassador, Angie has to deal with whatever government is elected, so it’s wise for her to keep her vote to herself. Anyway, her vote is nobody’s business.

I’m glad Angie’s father spoke up against that horrible woman.

Roseann Bar has gone off on MANY people. That seems to be her path in life since she essentially doesn’t have a career in show business. Jolie’s choice to have our troops deployed in these region is a necessary evil to protect these refugees. They lost their homes and love ones, driven out from their own country, and not by their own choosing. Let’s not forget the cold fact - WE INVADED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE NAME OF OIL ! We owe these refugees a safe return to their own native land and rebuild their country. I applaud Jolie’s difficult choice, her pragmatism and realistic brain.

Jon Voight responded appropriately. The thrust of his defense is to attack Barr’s past history, her own transgressions and credibility. Voight’s argue persuasively that Barr’s sacreligious acts against our National Anthem and the US flag, are in of themselves, UNAMERICAN. Afterall, Old Glory and the Land of the Brave are America’s shining symbols.

The attack against him and his daugther were unwarranted, and motivated by desire for attention and political pressure to vote for Obama. POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY ! Barr was dead wrong. Jolie is a very stubborn woman and will not be bullied, pressured, nor persuaded by a lunatic.

Voight argument is compelling and even persuasive That his argument was limited to his own defense, and left Jolie out is brilliant - respecting his daughter’s silence and knowing that she is her own woman, and aptly able to defend herself. Brilliant strategy !

For once, father and daughter genes are overwhelming evidence that indeed they have the same DNA - intelligent and ably capable of defending themselves, individually - father voicing his political opinion, and daugther stubbornly maintaining her individualism and choice. Albeit with different political persuasions, maybe, just maybe they can begin to heal the past.

It has been argued that Jolie’s vote is her own business. I beg to differ. Jolie has become a political figure - a strong, intelligent advocate for education and children of conflict. For that reason alone, her choice for POTUS will be controversial, criticized and always be scrutinized, regardless.

I am a pragmatist - we are in an unwanted war. There are 4-6 million refugees in Iraq-Iran-Syrian Border. Jolie’s choice to have our troops deployed in these region is a necessary evil to protect these refugees. They lost their homes and love ones, driven out from their own country, and not by their own choosing. Let’s not forget the cold fact - WE INVADED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE NAME OF OIL ! We owe these refugees a safe return to their own native land and rebuild their country. I applaud Jolie’s difficult choice, her pragmatism and realistic brain.

As in Islamabad, when pressure are mounting and criticisms that a “celebrity actress” is negotiating for better treatments of 100 displaced Afhgans, Jolie’s conscience was her only guide - to do the right thing. She’s a strong woman, and will weather the consequences of that choice.

Jon Voight responded appropriately. The thrust of his defense is to attack Barr’s past history, her own transgressions and credibility. Voight’s argue persuasively that Barr’s sacreligious acts against our National Anthem and the US flag, are in of themselves, UNAMERICAN. Afterall, Old Glory and the Land of the Brave are America’s shining symbols.

The attack against him and his daugther were unwarranted, and motivated by desire for attention and political pressure to vote for Obama. POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY ! Barr was dead wrong. Jolie is a very stubborn woman and will not be bullied, pressured, nor persuaded by a lunatic.

Voight argument is compelling and even persuasive That his argument was limited to his own defense, and left Jolie out is brilliant - respecting his daughter’s silence and knowing that she is her own woman, and aptly able to defend herself. Brilliant strategy !

For once, father and daughter genes are overwhelming evidence that indeed they have the same DNA - intelligent and ably capable of defending themselves, individually - father voicing his political opinion, and daugther stubbornly maintaining her individualism and choice. Albeit with different political persuasions, maybe, just maybe they can begin to heal the past.

It has been argued that Jolie’s vote is her own business. I beg to differ. Jolie has become a political figure - a strong, intelligent advocate for education and children of conflict. However, IMHO Angies as much as I agree with your assessment of her as a strong woman individually and as a humanitarina in the world scene is not political. I don’t think her causes are are political more humanitarian. She doesn’t aspire to
hold any office nor is she running for one. Her interests is more global rather than national. I think, her past efforts in Washington has been to more policies in places to help the displaced refugees of war torn countries. To me, that is not political but more foreign policy initiatives or suggestions.

Sometimes the best defense is to not say anything. Do not stoop to their level. Angie and Brad are busy raising their family. Angie has no time to pay any attention to trash, she is busy nusring the twins, taking care of the other 4 and taking care of herself. Don’t think anytime is left for trash.
There is a nice article in “HELLO” mag dated 8-19-2008. It’s not the one with Angie on the cover. It is a nice and sweet article about Brad, Angie and their family. They are talking about Maddox and his birthday how Angie is busy taking care of the kids.
In the same magazine is an interview of Jen when she was in London. Kinda funny for it is talking about how happy she is with J. Mayer. She talks about how your life is wonderful when you are in love. Have you notice that whenever she is interviewed or when every thing is going along good or appear to be going along good when she is in a relationship all of a sudden it is over. This happened with Brad, they were on vacation in Mexico, all hugged up and kissing in December then in January she files for divorce. With V.V., she appears on Oprah talking about how they are still together. The next week, they break up. With John, all the mags come out about how happy and in love they are, they are talking about marriage and having a baby. Then “wham”, John ends the relationship. There is something not right with Ms. Jen. She said in the Hello interview that she is very private about her personal life and she just doen’t understand why people would say that she does things to get attention. Some of her statement tells that she does read the blogs for the comments are related to what is posted. When asked about a family, her answer is weird. I really don’t think she really wants a child. She appears to be satisfied with her dog(s). She is compared the attention from her dog to that of a man; saying that she wished that a man would greet you like your dog do! When I read it, I just could not believe it. She may be getting close to 40 but from reading that article, I don’t think she really knows what she wants in life and do not have any goals set. One statement she said that will just want to keep making movies. Does not sound like a mature lady to me. Of course she talked about her body and staying fit.

Good Morning All - Jaye and Aeon - my sincerest apology for not posting last night. After a day of running around and visiting unforgetable sites, then dinner where I had 2 glasses of vinho verde, I was dead tired.

Before I respond, for all of you out there, Portugal maybe a small country, but rich in culture and heritage. I was blown over by the people, the seafoods, old churches, museums and villages. The Euro dollars will go far. It’s surrounded with unbelievable beaches ! The French Riviera and Monaco while they glittered and well developed, the beaches here in Braga are magnificent, and reminiscent of God’s handiwork. What a religious experience - hearing the bells tolls from a distant and walking these magnificent beaches ! And the sky and the sea seems like one ! You almost have the feeling, that God is walking with you !

There is something mystic about Portugal - it’s no wonder in the old times, they came, they saw and they conquered. Today, Macau the finance capital of China is still under Portugal !

I totally agree with Angelina. All we need is a short trip in our past to see the wisdom of her words.

The time in question is the war between The then Soviet Union and Afghanistan. . The U.S. was a backer of the the mujahideen forces in Afghanistan. Bin Laden was one of the many Islamics who fought in the war. He felt that they, the Islamics, were responsible for the fall of the Soviet Union. Although U.S. were not mention as a contributor of the victory Bin Laden said the collapse of the Soviet union made the U.S. more haughty and arrogant.

The damage to the Afghani people was that 1 million of them were killed, 5 million fled to Iran and Pakistan; about 1/3 of the pre- war population. 2 million were displaced within the country. In the 80’s one out of every 2 refugees in the world were Afghani. Also 1.5 million of the engaged in the war were disabled. 3 million non-combatants were maimed or wounded. Many children were injured and killed by land mines. Surviving children were malnourished with malnutrition increasing with age.

One of the most damning things for the U.S. is once the Soviets left that country in shambles, the U.S. were no longer interested in helping Afghanistan. This is not my assumption, this is documented. After the Soviets left there was a huge increase in civil wars. The people born after the Soviet invasion know nothing else.

The U.S. helped to defeat the Soviet Union and then left the injured, the displaced of Afghanistan without hope. Many Americans are hoping that they have learned a lesson from that war. if you leave people without hope they become desperate. Desperation has a tendency to spread. People turned to groups like the Taliban because they offered them hope. The fall out from that desperation became and is still a National Crisis for the U.S. Those in power can claim that they didn’t see it coming after the Soviet-Afghan war, but not with Iraq. History should be a lesson.

We are still being pounded by heavy rain & wind gust at this moment, one fatality in our area. Three people vacationing decided to fight the mother nature & went surfing, 2 came out but the other one was not so lucky. My heart goes out to the family of the victim. Mother nature is not something to take it as a joke, you will never know what will happen if you venture out to the sea with high wind & waves.
Nothing is new. One more week before the Venice Film Festival, we will see Brad Pitt on the red carpet, hopefully, Angie can go with him. A day to be away from the children will not be bad specially when the in laws are there to watch the kids. I am still hoping Angie will walk the red carpet with Brad. I will watch Burn After Reading, the trailer looks awesome.

Wow - Jaye, ‘am glad you share my love for history, you are quite a historian ! This war was under Bush 41, who unfortunately decided to cut and run. It left Afhganistan ruined and tend itself to rebuit.

Too painful to reminish. Indeed even now, our foreign policy is deeply flawed, and Jolie is an advocate for reform, focused on the children of conflict.

Indeed, we owe to this people a safe return to their country, or give them an opportunity to immigrate. I would prefer that we rebuilt their country.

Palace Hotel do Busacco, Coimbra, Portugal

“Had my last dinner with Liv who remained in Braga to finish his bank business, and will catch up with us in Coimbra. It’s about 1hr driving along the Mediterranean side with long stretch of silvery sand. The other side is a verdant forest. BamBam had to do her business, so we stopped along a beautiful garden, a tourist rest area. At 6:00 pm, the missions bells rang, and everyone bowed their heads for 1-2 mins, then bowed to each other. In deference to that tradition, I bowed and greeted them too. What a wonderful tradition !

Palace Hotel do Bussaco is in the middle of a very thick and winding forest towards heaven. The architecture- Manueline-Gothic architecture where in yesteryear’s 1800 the last King of Portugal lived, and was converted to a luxury hotel sometime early 1900. From up top my room, you can see the Mediterranean like a never ending flat mirror, intersecting with the billion stars in heaven. I dressed up for supper to meet the guests - oh my - so this is how the royalty lived. Sky is the limit in food and wine - the best of Portuguese cuisine - huge lobsters, and all kind of sea food. Then the after dinner wine and chat in another yet magnificent room, then there is the customary dance called “Fago” with the guest - an intricate, very romantic dance.

I did not sleep in that luxury bed, instead, I dragged the comforter put in the veranda, and where I lazilly watch the moon, billion stars and the sea. BamBam curled underneath. God really made this earth perfect !

As to Jill, whether she realized or not, she has many critics. I am not the only one. She had been called many names - disgusting monikers, and for the sake of F1, I let it go. She had been called the N words, which I find reprehensible. I immediately emailed JJ, the they were deleted. I will not defend her when she is right, no more, or no less than I would for you or anyone else. Simple as that.

Sure, I admire her off beat criticisms and snarks, and yes they are funny. She is also a defender of Jolie. I give her that. But she create havocs. She’s got this wide mood swings - unable to conduct civil conversation - always angry and hostile. Then suddenly, she is sweet and gracious. She’d been my critique all these time, and that is find with me.

Truthfully, Jolie will not approve the way she criticize children - Suri for one is only 2 years old. Jill has taken up a mean offense against this little girl. That is not acceptable in my view. am sure Jolie will not tolerate that !

This is a community blog, and we should be at least civil to one another even if we disagree on issues.

I saw the pictures of the new Lara Croft, Ms. Carroll , in her Lara gear. She’s no Angelina. She doesn’t have any spark or expression at all. Angelina looked fierce. She could handle a gun , kick your a-s-s and mean it. This woman looks like she’s a little girl ( albeit busty) playing dress up. She’s a pretty girl, but she doesn’t look like she could have beaten me up when I was in the fifth grade. I don’t see ‘attitude’ in her pictures. I wish her well and hope that if they make another movie, she’s better in live action.
