OlderAngie’s Dad - Jon Voight responds to Roseanne!
After Roseanne Barr blasted Angelina Jolie and her father Jon Voight, the Midnight Cowboy actor responded to Barr via Extra. Here is Roseanne’s blog entry in case you missed it. Jon’s response is below:
“Answer to Roseanne Barr’s Rant:
We can never be surprised at what vile evil comes from the mouth of a confessed victim of child abuse at the hands of her own parents.
Her parents responded to the accusation by going on the air and slating she is a psychopathic liar and her sister agreed.
Her defaming of our National Anthem in 1990 gave us insight into who she is and what she is capable of saying and doing.
My allegiance to Senator McCain becomes stronger with any assault that tries to deter my loyalty to him.
I can only pray that good people see her for what she is (sick of mind).

Your problem is that you bewilderingly take the word of Roseanne as fact as to what the Jolie Pitts earn and what they donate. Why in the world would an intelligent person look for facts in an ill thought out screed. Why would you even think that Roseanne would know these figures. She clearly hasn’t even bothered to Google - not that a search would give her a definitive answer.
It’s been reported on tax forms that the JPs gave up $8 million in one year alone for the use by just one of their charitable foundations alone. No one outside a small number of people knows how much they make or actually take home.
Voight’s point about the child abuse is that Roseanne’s “recovered memory” accusations were refuted by her parents and by her sister. His point is that she is a liar and she lies and makes outrageous claims to get attention and for publicity. Her accusations against her parents may just be unforgivable.
I think that Voight handled this the right way by deflating the attacker and pointing out why she should not be believed. That certainly was in defense of his daugter and her family as well as his candidate.
At least JV did not go after Barr’s kids and there is lots to tell. So he is much better than she will ever be.

And what makes you think that Obama is the candidate capable of protecting human rights around the globe? If the wind shifts or protecting human rights gets in the way of his election then he’ll throw the next set of victims under the bus just like he has his lifelong pals the hate filled homophobic ministers and his own grandmother.
i don’t care about the political aspect of this whole thing, but i definitely applaud jon for sticking up for his daughter. that’s what dads do even when in his situation with angie.
Maybe we should all concentrate on the ridiculous problems here in the US. Is everyone here doing so well that they can focus on the problems of others? I highly doubt it. Bush f*cked us and McCain will just continue on. If you think differently, you’re a moron and I hope you don’t vote!

This is the same Jon Voight who wrote an article in the Washington Times a few weeks ago where he basically called Barack Obama evil, so I have no sympathy for someone criticizing him for his whacked out beliefs. And it’s not because he is a Republican but because of the vile rhetoric he used to announce his support for McCain and to denigrate Obama. It was totally out of line and borderline crazy. He is hardly a paragon of sanity or fatherhood and if anyone really believes he was defending his daughter or her children, then you are sadly mistaken. He had no compunction about going on television after the birth of the twins and talk about how he wishes he could see his grandchildren, but he had to see them in People like everyone else. He is as much a publicity ***** and an ideological bully as Roseanne. Team Neither.
I am not a brangelina fan but Roseanne should not have made those comments and Jon Voight should have done a better job sticking up for his daughter.

Angie wants the troops to stay in Iraq, not to fight, but to help refugees come back home and resettle in their country. There are about four million Iraqi refugee and displaced people, now mainly in Syria and Jordan. The invasion caused/made the refugees.
I think it’s totally reasonable to expect the troops to fix what they have caused, the destruction of Iraq’s infrastructure and people fleeing to other countries.
Secondly, as UNHCR goodwill ambassador, Angie has to deal with whatever government is elected, so it’s wise for her to keep her vote to herself. Anyway, her vote is nobody’s business.
I’m glad Angie’s father spoke up against that horrible woman.

So? Obama’s supporters call McCain evil for wanting to stay in Iraq. Both sides express their opinions, to which they are entitled.

Hello to all fans from Europe! I just read Roseanne blog here on JJ, I have no comment, I think it is her way to be in the public, I have to say that I almost forgot who is she, she is really nobody here in Europe, at least I think that …
Also, I have to say that I agree with you Orchid, like always, this is a great post from you! I don’t follow political situation in America, I know that you people must decide between Obama and McCain, again, I don’t know nothing about them, but I don’t understand how could Roseanne or anybody attack Angelina if she is undecided?!? Just like Orchid said “her vote is nobody’s business”, she is UN ambassador and I really do think that she wants to keep her vote to herself, it is very smart thing to do! I am not a big fan of Jon Voight but I think that he had all the right to spoke against Roseanne, again it is a free world, they all have all the right to say whatever they want, and probably with person like Roseanne this is the only way … I really like the fact that he didn’t mention Angelina’s name in his response, smart thing to do!

I don’t know what to say with this one. I like Roseanne, she’s a good comedian and I agree with her political views. I don’t understand what prompted her to go off on Angelina and Brad however.
I love the Jolie-Pitts and I wish she just didn’t say anything.
