It’s totally understandable. Roseanne crossed the line. Yes Voight and Jolie have had their share of problems. Yes, he can ask his daughter to seek help, but don’t YOU do it. Barr was talking about his baby. Jolie will always be his baby girl and I’m sure that he does love her and now really respects the way she has turned her life around and is finally happy.

Any parent who loves his/her child would speak up when that child is attacked.

Jon was defeinding McCain and himself, he was not defending Angie, otherwise he would have defended her when Donald Trump and Michael Doughlas bashed her.

At that time AJ was probably not speaking at all to her father, and he was probably worried to say anything. Now AJ has said that she and her father have spoken already, so I guess he feels free to comment, although he didn’t mention her name. Anyway, that was then.

This is now. Roseanne attacked AJ, and JV attacked Roseanne, so although he didn’t mention AJ at all, what he said to Roseanne is certainly nice for AJ.

Orchid , this is not nice for Angelina. She doesn’t need that fool to speak for her. He has not even met his grandchildren for reasons that are pretty obvious now. He’s an ass and probably just as crazy as Roseanne.

I’m glad that JV did not speak for Angelina or it might seem that Angelina had asked her father to speak on her behalf.

Angelina has always spoken up for herself, when she wants to or authorised her Manager Geyer Kosinski or now, her charitable advisor Trevor Nielson to say something. She doesn’t need her dad or her brother or anyone else to speak for her and frankly, I’m glad. Nor does she make a habit of speaking about other famous people.

Because you only have to look at x to say what a hot mess she has made by using her publicist to plant stories , getting her goddess circle friends to speak for her or David Arquette (remember his interview with David Stern??) to speak for her.

Jon Voight responded appropriately. The thrust of his defense is to attack Barr’s past history, her own transgressions and credibility. Voight’s argue persuasively that Barr’s sacreligious acts against our National Anthem and the US flag, are in of themselves, UNAMERICAN. Afterall, Old Glory and the Land of the Brave are America’s shining symbols.

The attack against him and his daugther were unwarranted, and motivated by desire for attention and political pressure to vote for Obama. POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY ! Barr was dead wrong. Jolie is a very stubborn woman and will not be bullied, pressured, nor persuaded by a lunatic.

Voight argument is compelling and even persuasive That his argument was limited to his own defense, and left Jolie out is brilliant - respecting his daughter’s silence and knowing that she is her own woman, and aptly able to defend herself. Brilliant strategy !

For once, father and daughter genes are overwhelming evidence that indeed they have the same DNA - intelligent and ably capable of defending themselves, individually - father voicing his political opinion, and daugther stubbornly maintaining her individualism and choice. Albeit with different political persuasions, maybe, just maybe they can begin to heal the past.

It has been argued that Jolie’s vote is her own business. I beg to differ. Jolie has become a political figure - a strong, intelligent advocate for education and children of conflict. Our country has flawed political, social, and foreign policies. Jolie is a strong advocate for reform. For that reason alone, her choice for POTUS will be controversial, criticized and always be scrutinized, regardless.

I am a pragmatist - we are in an unwanted war. There are 4-6 million refugees in Iraq-Iran-Syrian Border. Jolie’s choice to have our troops deployed in these region is a necessary evil to protect these refugees. They lost their homes and love ones, driven out from their own country, and not by their own choosing. Let’s not forget the cold fact - WE INVADED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE NAME OF OIL ! We owe these refugees a safe return to their own native land and rebuild their country. I applaud Jolie’s difficult choice, her pragmatism and realistic brain.

As in Islamabad, when pressure are mounting and criticisms that a “celebrity actress” is negotiating for better treatments of 100 displaced Afhgans, Jolie’s conscience was her only guide - to do the right thing. She’s a strong woman, and will weather the consequences of that choice.

I disagree! You’re right that AJ doesn’t need anyone to speak for her, but her father is free to say what he wants. He didn’t criticize his daughter. He criticized the woman who criticized his daughter. That, imo, is good for his daughter.

The fact that he hasn’t seen his grandchildren is a separate issue. Not too long ago, AJ has said, if the story is true, that she and her father have been in contact, but want the relationship to be private.

JV can’t turn the clock back and be a perfect father, he can’t undo what he said about AJ on TV, but he CAN try to be a good father and grandfather for the rest of his life. I think that’s what he wants to do. He IS AJ’s father and the grandfather of her and Brad’s children.

Maybe Jon should get his info straight on singing the national anthem.
Rosanne, has said many times that she was put up to simging and had tried to excape doing it, but had no choice. Jon should realize how such things work, or at least he should of tried to talk Angie out of doing Tomb Raider(ouch and the second.) Good for Rosanne, she should have said those things, Brad and Angie make me sick….

i think roseanne wants to ride on the popularity of brangelina..she wants to be controversial so people will notice her.. she wants attention.. why bring up the past on angie..roseanne, you’re just envious of what brangelina has..obviously, you’re getting bitter and unhappy in life as you grow older and older, that’s why you see negative in people. roseanne lives a miserable life that she refuse to see good in people especially those who made a difference in this world.. roseanne, why not do something more productive and constructive in your twilight years? age gracefully!
