Tom Cruise is a Comic Book “Sleeper”

Tom Cruise is in talks to star in the comic book adaptation, Sleeper, for Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Written by Ed Brubaker with art by Sean Phillips, Sleeper, which ran from 2003-05, centers on an operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him impervious to pain and allows him to pass it on to others through skin contact. He is placed undercover in a villainous organization by an intelligence agency and falls for a member of the group, named Miss Misery.

Cruise, 46, has been looking around for projects in the wake of the departure of his long-term business partner Paula Wagner from United Artists, last week.

Sleeper is a spin-off book from the Wildstorm flagship title “WildC.A.T.s” and features characters from another spin-off book, “Gen 13.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Tom Cruise in this comic book adaptation, Sleeper?

RIGHT NUMBER # 22……. And he ” is to old to play an action hero “? Like Harrison Ford wasn’t? NO!!! What a silly response…. “he is looking his age”.? Well we all are!!! Why shouldn’t he??? Tom once said he would NOT have plastic surgery on his face… He still looks great for his age. ( I can hear it now. you don’t know HOW we look )…. Let him do the movie and wish him luck… Why try and push him down a black hole the minute he wants to do something??

Being “attached” to a project is just another way to get yourself talked about without actually doing anything. Right now Cruise and his lovely empty wife are concentrating all efforts upon that objective.

DANCER…. Remember, He DID apologize to Matt and Brooke in person and they accepted and have become friends. They even socialize together now, with their children…. I answered your post on the other ” Katie Stripes ” story>>>> I stand Corrected on that one…

3: The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4: And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5: And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6: Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
7: They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9: And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10: His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11: But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12: For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
13: Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14: But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15: And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
16: And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17: And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18: He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19: Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20: The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21: Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

When did Tom Cruise apologize to Matt Lauer? Because he never did. Why are all Tommy Boy’s fans so obsessed they have to lie? LOL.

Tom Cruise may have claimed he had regrets in that PR rehab’ing crapfest on Oprah, but he’s never contacted Matt nor has he accepted the open invitation to go back on the show and discuss it.

I think he’s too intimidated to face a person of actual intelligence who might ask compelling questions instead of just blowing smoke up his ****.

Who cares to see him anymore, he is a joke now. That plot seems too similar to the COS. Is that way is is interested?

Too old to play a super-hero/comic book character.

JUST SAY NO @ 08/19/2008 at 10:22 pm

At this point, Tom Cruise is the most powerful weapon - that is, the most effective recruitment tool - within the cult of $cientology.

He’s also one of the richest and most “generous” donors to the Cult, most of which goes NOT to support its lowly workforce but directly to to the current leader of the cult, David Miscavage for his own use and for recruitment purposes.

The people who join $cientology and pay for their services do so in the hopes of gaining increased intelligence and improved personality.

Unfortunately, $cientology doesn’t deliver.

Instead, $cientologists (when they finally reach the higher levels) are sold a space opera theology about alien spirits infesting their bodies - after having spent tens of thousands of dollars on $cientology courses and auditing sessions.

The cost of reaching the highest level of $cientology’s secret knowledge, OTVIII (or Operating Thetan level 8) is estimated to be at least $277,010 and could be up to $376,500.
It is a “bait-and-switch” scheme.

Ask yourself: What kind of “church” sues to prevent public discussion of its theology?

What other cults use thought crime legislation to enforce opinions that cannot win converts by reason and example?

What other ideologies dismiss disagreement as false consciousness and insist on the power to indoctrinate the children of their opponents?

BOYCOTT CULT CELEBRITIES

Well there are market rules in place, the rules about Supply and demand and market competition. Let the suppliers compete. We, the consumers, benefit from the competition. Boycott one supplier to benefit the other supplier is just a bad move for the public.

Someone said he is not aging well. What? I think he looks great at 46! I would love to see this movie. Loved him in Tropic Thunder, he was hilarious!

c/s Dani; the film will suck because it won’t be a comic book adaptation w/ Tom Cruise in it, it will be a Tom Cruise film w/ comic book setting (a la Stallone’s Judge Dredd)

No lie, #31. Matt Lauer forgave Cruise. He even said it after the interview. You don;t know if he contacted Lauer or not.

Why don’t you actually wait and see the movie before make such calls, #37?
