OlderMichael Phelps is Today’s Olympian
Michael Phelps is interviewed by Matt Lauer on the NBC Today Show set after after winning eight gold medals at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on Tuesday in Beijing, China.
“I’m just exhausted,” Phelps told Lauer from the Today set in Beijing. “I feel like I haven’t stopped moving for 10 days straight — but it’s been fun, this is an experience I’ve always dreamed of.”
The 23-year-old Olympian talked about the 100m butterfly race where he won by 1/100th of a second. “I had no idea where we were — I mean, I knew we were all together,” Phelps said. “I didn’t know if I was ahead, behind, whatever, and about 15-20 meters out, I was focused on hitting the wall perfectly, trying to have a good last stroke, and I when I took that last stroke I thought that cost me the race.”
But in the end, Phelps said, “It was the perfect finish for a close race, and definitely does not get any better than that.”

Michael is the best, I think that people are so excited because not only is he an amazing swimmer, we have fallen in love with his charisma, happy, go lucky way. He is just seems like he would be a pleasure to be around and it would be cool to be his friend.

I like him and I was cheering for him too. It doesn’t mean I’m blind. I don’t wanna be mean so all I’ll say is thank God his body is tight cause the face is hmm questionable (it’s another story when he’s inside a pool tho)

He is really ugly, I don’t kow how anyone is disputing this. He’s a fantastic athlete and deserves everything he won but he is the definition of a butterface. His body is good but when you have to look at those ears, that gummy smile, that wierd face, I don’t know…Good thing he is getting tens of millions in endorsements so that when his body is gone he won’t just be another ugly face.
Also he is a jerk to many people. He looks like a dork but he is definitely a jock. His neighbours hate him, he is a douchebag, and even his campus paper put a huge article about his douchiness a few years ago.
And no, he woudln’t make a good b-ball player at 200lb and 6′4″. Unless he is the best point guard in the league.
