Just Stand Up 2 Cancer — FIRST LISTEN!

Check out the new all-star charity single “Just Stand Up” as recorded by 15 of the most well-known singers in anticipation of the Sept. 5 “Stand Up for Cancer” telethon.

The track, produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and L. A. Reid, starts off with solos by powerhouse singers Beyonce and Carrie Underwood. You’ll later hear Fergie, Leona Lewis and Mary J. Blige belt it out. Other vocalists include: Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow, Rihanna, Melissa Etheridge, Miley Cyrus, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara and LeeAnn Rimes.

i really didnt hear miley, and no offence to her but they really should not have put her up with artists like mariah and beyonce and mary j blige. she doesnt have a strong enough voice thats why they didnt give her a big part!

its a good song, and they got amazing singers on it. I hear Miley perfectly, they made her sound like a little girl. I wish they had more Ashanti, but thats not the point. Its part of a cancer benefit. Doesn’t matter how much time so and so gets on the song, because it’s all for the same cause.

Why is Miley here? She is simply awful, I cannot stand her. Whenever I here her songs on the radio I want to kill. She’s taking money, and promotion from REAL artists. UGHH! She makes me so mad, and I’m glad that I only hear her wretched voice only like 3 times, the others are way better, and can actually sing.
PS- I love how Mariah does her high pitched thing, it’s so funny!

Wow, sounds great! Love Beyonce n Leona most on it, I personally really don’t like Miley anyway so theres no surprise I don’t like her in the song, but i kinda feel Fergie spoils it… In my opinion!

how can you say that you hate the song because you don’t hear miley much- she does sing in the song, which also includes 14 other singers. this song is to raise awareness & money for making cancer history, & hopefully not for each artist’s individual success. think about the message & point of the song, please.

who care’s who is on it and who is not the point is that it is a stand against cancer. Who sings what shouldn’t matter you have to think beyond that, the fact that all these women are banding together to help the world get one step closer to finding a cure against cancer. Think about that and nothing else.

miley’s singing the ‘if the heart…’ da da da, so on part and alot of background. i like this song but i think leona should’ve had a bigger part…her vocals are phenomenal! great song!!!!!!!!

These people are so smart.

They got people who can actually sing to do most the work, then told miley should sing a bit too. Only really, they’re just using her name to get more sells. They know anything with “Cyrus” sells 1,000s. I tip my hat off to them!

I get a pretty darn good song, millions of dollars go to a charity because of Miley’s name AND I don’t have to hear her!

Carrie and Beyonce are the best by far– but I also love rianna and mary j blige! It is a great song– love it! And a great cause!
Miley just sounds too young and out of place to be in this song with these great divas! lol no offense miley fans.. she is just not right for this groups of A-list singers.

My girl Rihanna smokes it as usual– but boy does Ms. Carrie Underwood sound incredible! She has a very versatile voice— not just a country singer at all. She works the r & b sound on this and smokes most of the others- except for beyonce and riri, who were brilliant as usual.

Amazing song.

I’m also a skeptical about Miley Cyrus presence in here. Alicia Keys, Christina or Kelly Clarkson would be, by far, better choices.

In respect of the singers who make it best in this theme, I believe that:
»Beyonce has too many lines and she’s so into her element that I believe she could have done better;
»Rihanna is good, once again surprising;
»Fergie has also many lines and her hip-hop based interpretative style is a little different than most others but I think she played well her role… Still, I was waiting for more…
»Miley is a lot off the mood and backgrounded. If she’s good or bad, I can barely tell… Same happens with Ciara, Ashanti and others… But all this is so comprehensible…
»Blige is so tham briliant. It’s the most felt interpretation you can have…
»Leona is amazing. A little showing off and disconnected from the spirit of the song but still outstanding. that’s the advantage of a golden voice in it’s best…
»»»»»But it’s MAriah who takes this song to another lever. So powerfull and faithfull to what the lyric demands… Brilliant MIMI!
