Zuma Rossdale — Gwen Stefani’s New Son!

That’s an odd name, and I read elsewhere that it’s something else, though at this moment I can’t remember what. I seriously doubt though that it’s Zuma.

The sex hasn’t been confirmed yet or reported so whoevers reporting it’s a boy or girl is just guessing.

Zuma sounds like a girl name but we shall see. People assume “Zuma” is from Zuma Beach.

Before you say it’s stupid, think about what it might mean…..

First off, it’s the beach in Southern California that has great waves, pretty rock formations surrounding it, and was the site where all those Frankie and Annette movies were filmed. Seeing as how Gwen is a SoCal girl through and through, maybe the name has to do with sunny days of sand and surf, health and carefree living, fun in nature?

Just because it’s not an American or English traditional name doesn’t mean an English/American couple can name their child it.

All these people worried about the kid getting picked on probably did the taunting at school, ignorant asses. Even ordinary names get picked on — it’s the kid who is getting picked on, not the name.

I was the only one with my name growing up, and I liked it. Now lots of people have my name and it’s not as fun.

This name isn’t as bad as Pilot Inspektor and crap like that. This is a well-thought out name. Zahara’s middle name is Marley, so for Zuma to have Bob Marley’s middle name of Nesta is really cool because the two families are friends.

I think Zuma sounds a bit feminine, but then I thought the Beckhams’ naming their son Brooklyn sounded feminine, too. I know both men and women with the name Paris, and both men and women with the name Montana. I know a little girl named Havana (her parents fled Cuba). Place names are not all that unusual, and I guess they can be unisex.

Zuma Nesta???? I don’t like it. I understand that Nesta was Bob Marley’s middle name and of course, Kingston is a place in Jamaica, so obviously she likes the Reggae names, but this doesn’t work- sounds horrible.

I am a long time fan of Gwen and I am so happy for her. I was so happy we were pregnant at the same time with both our children. I just want to say to all those leaving negative comments ………..it’s her baby and she can name it whatever she wants. So yes it sounds a lil weird and different from the regular names but at least she put thought and meaning into the name. It’s alot better then choosing some regular stupid thoughtless name like sharon, or regina. Leave the space for fans who want to leave positive comments! FYI……for all the fans…..Gwen chose Nesta b/c that was Bob Marleys birth name…Nesta Robert Marley……..and we all know she is a big longtime fan of Marleys. I think its possible the name Zuma came from Zuma Beach. Well have to find out.
